Twenty miles off the coast of San Francisco, this small chain of islands hosts a yearly migration of seals... and during this time of year, the sharks are here too – the biggest, hungriest Great Whites in the world.
Attempting to swim off these shores is attempted suicide.
Colin Mason – wealthy, connected – with one leg bitten off by a white shark in these very same waters – now hosts his own yearly event – a marathon swim through the Great White-infested Farallons,
The prize is a million dollars – winner takes all.
How much is your life worth?

Hello! I just started up a podcast with my fiancé and we talk about the paranormal, fears, and just things that scare us. I love hearing people's personal stories of paranormal activity or the unexplained! We want to start reading out a story at the end of the episode, so if you have one or know someone with a good one and are okay with it being read on a podcast, send it over to lendmeyoureerie@gmail.com! Thanks so much everyone! :)
The light flickered, showing little besides the filth and emptiness. The little hanging bulb could only illuminate a small area of the basement. It gave a cavernous feeling of openness where the darkness seemed to stretch on without end. Allison looked hard into the blackness, as if she stared long enough she could push the light further into the void. No such luck. As she gazed at the well-defined perimeter of light, she saw only the floating dust disappear as it wandered just outside the yellow shine. She looked at a different section of the floor; nowhere else was there any floating dust. Something had disturbed the dust. She could feel something else with her, something waiting. As she stepped into the middle of the room, just under the hanging light, she peered into the blackness as if to give the illusion that she could see beyond the edge of the void. The light flickered again, a little longer than the last time letting her think for a moment that it might be permanent. She suppressed the scream that grew in her chest, though she allowed the ragged gasp escaped her. She took a breath and tried hard to swallow the dryness in her mouth to no avail. It was as she was told before coming down here. She was to stand undefended and trembling in order to advance. Like most of the trials she never saw the purpose or the use until much later, but this was different. Never had she been asked to put herself in danger. Never before had they said farewell before she descended the stairs. She saw no movement but looked rapidly all around, feeling something was different in the darkness. A tiny patch of dust floated in a new area. Are you ready, she thought. She shook her head involuntarily answering her question. “I don’t want to die.” She said as she clenched her jaw and unscrewed the bulb.
