I’m a 24y/o girl in HK and I know how to play the piano, violin (tho not really useful in a band) and I can sing, I love soft indie music like men I trust, Khruangbin, Feng Suave and Menahan Street band etc. I also like soul/ Neo soul and jazz music like Thee Sineers, Gotts Street Park, Erykah Badu, Cleo Sol and Berlioz. And of course the classic Beatles, Stevie Wonder and a band that I really like right now is The Lemon Twigs. I also like R&B like The Internet. And many other jazz classics like John Coltrane and Chet baker.
I bought a bass guitar recently to learn how to play it and tried to make songs by playing all the instruments myself, but I find it a bit hard because I cannot play the drums.
So if you’re reading this, and you also like this kind of music, I’m looking for like-minded drummer, guitarist and bass guitarist to from a band in Hong Kong for fun, mainly to chill who also would like to make music in their spare time. Please comment/ dm me if you’re interested. Would be really fun to create some good vibrations together! x
by fr(HK) 香港聲景
fr(HK), a.k.a Field Recording Hong Kong 香港聲景, is a cultural side project by anonymous artist(s) in Hong Kong trying to capture sound via field recoding in their home town for future generation, before the sound vanishes someday.
The two tracks in the <HKO Hotline> EP were recorded from the HK Observatory Hotline [Tel: 187-8200]. By choosing different options and pressing different keys, an audio journey commenced, under the omni-present ambient mist.
The song aired on 92.10 FM on Saturday 26/10/2024 somewhere between 6pm - 6:30 pm.
I was in an Uber and by the time the song reached its end, it was too late to do a song scan. It was probably a Cantonese song
New in HK btw. If anyone has a list of what songs aired during that time it would be great. Thank you
Hi all, just wanted to share three punk/emo/alt shows in November and December this year 2024. For all you alternative souls. They are:
The three organisers are also doing a discount if you choose to go to all three shows - at $1200, a $400 discount from the original price. Which is very cool! (DM desperate.infant.records on instagram for details)
See you then~!
Hello! I’m visiting family from Chicago/US (home of house music 😊) and was hoping to do go clubbing or something more underground. I love everything from DnB, trance, dembow, perreo, stutter house, acid, etc…
Looking for suggestions or people to go with, as this is my first time here!
Thanks! ☺️
Talented as in singing ability
I see people on here are looking for hardcore stuff in Hong Kong so I’m just dropping the link here!! https://www.instagram.com/p/C9MhQaWRddN/?igsh=MTk0OGlpdGo3aWhzYw==
If you like hardcore punk and you live in HK or happened to be in HK during this time you do not wanna miss this!!
This might be the first time ever a diy event like this is able to bring together hc bands from all over Asia to play in HK! You can check the full line up in the link but there will be bands from HK, China, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, and Philippines! This might be the first and only time something like this will ever happen in Hong Kong so yeah, I feel like more people should know about this!
Looking for beatmakers to work on cool shit.

Hi there,
I am going to Hong Kong from October 5 - 16 2024 and was hoping to check out some underground indie/alternative shows while I'm there. I've been searching online, but having a hard time finding stuff. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thank you!
Hi, I'm travelling to HK beginning of December and was looking for some hardcore/metal/rock concerts during those dates. If nothing is going on or there is no info published yet, just knowing about some venues or bars would be great. I come from Spain, so I have no clue about the hardcore scene there. Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance!
It was a mixture of cantonese and english rapping and the english part kept repeating 852. I think overall there were 3 rappers in it.
Punks in pubs is a podcast in the UK and I'm looking to speak to a punk label or band, I will be speaking about how they become a lover of the genre, how the genre is viewed in HK, and looking forward.
Anyone interested please email punksinpubs@gmail.com
As the title suggests, loved the app but recently changed phones but can't seem to find the indiecast app on Google Play. Has it been taken off the app store? Are there any other ways I can get it? Thanks!
