By that I mean you could consider Dooku -> Qui-gon -> Obi-Wan -> Anakin -> Ahsoka as a lineage. And you can see how Dooku's unorthodox attitudes did ripple through all of those Jedi in different ways.
Do you think any High Republic characters have attitudes that seem to reflect in prequel era Jedi, and could possibly be a result of a Jedi lineage? Or simply ones you'd like to be the case?
For example, I think Stellan Gios and Vernestra have attitudes that reflect in Mace Windu. They're quite stern and serious people, with strong adherances to the ideals of the Jedi Order. In fact: in Canon Mace's master was a Mirialan. Since they are a long-lived species, maybe it's possible Vernestra took her as a padawan after Imri (we've seen Mirialan's take Mirialan's as padawans in Luminara and Barriss, maybe it's common). Also: purple lightsaber. That would give us Stellan -> Vernestra -> Cyslin Myr -> Mace -> Depa Billaba -> Kanan -> Ezra as a very cool lineage of Jedi. As even more of a reach you could see Stellan and Vernestra's unique lightsabers reflecting in Ezra later building the blaster-saber.
I’m a new reader to HR and Star Wars as a whole and to say the least i’m very intimidated by the number of books. Wondering if I could get by with reading only the Adult Novels and Marvel comics for all the phases? Also heard that the YA is more important in the 2nd phase is that true or could I skip the YA ones as well?
Happy Friday all! Pretty much the title. I’m from the UK and don’t think I can get hold of it. I’m trying to collect the entire HR in physical.
Also, whilst here. Any other sneaky one shots I might have missed? Thanks in advance.
Hello there...
General... ly speaking, I'm having a blast reading the High Republic.
I´m starting Midnight Horizon, and with that closing phase 1.
I understand Midnight Horizon and Fallen Star go in parallel, so MH doesn't pick up at the end of FS. That's not my Issue. I´m having a hard time trying to pinpoint the time frame for MH, in regards to the "High Republic Adventures" (IDW Comics). Most reading orders I´ve found put those comics (13 issues, which I´ve already read) first, but now that I`m starting this novel (Chapter 6 so far) I cant make sense of the timing, It seems the novel starts way back.
Considering Jose Older wrote both the comics, and the novel, the events should fit together seamlessly by the end of it all, so I´m not worry about that, besides I love Lula.
Am I Off? I feel a little lost, but I`m just a couple of chapters in.
Any insight would be appreciated
So I’m writing a fanfic set during the early days of the high republic (800BBY) where the Jedi have split into two groups: one are the Jedi council themselves who go by Jedi “lords” and basically carry over the militarized Jedi ideals carried by Lord Hoth during the Last Sith Wars.
These Jedi install themselves as planetary governors (similar to Moffs) and rule systems directly to maintain the peace. Due to this, with the two hundred years of relative peace there’s a refugee crisis in the galaxy as the galaxy simply isn’t used to supporting successive generations of sentients that aren’t being obliterated by ongoing wars and conflicts.
So anyway I need to know the following:
The state of the nihl in the books. What do they want, where did they come from. Spoilers are fine. I need any backstory about their leadership and anything else I could look up.
The state of the republic military. In my fic the republic has demilitarized after the reconquest of Coruscant, but the vestiges of republic military live on in the core worlds as the Republic Defense/Security forces. The republic also de facto supports private military groups such as corpsec. So just need anything on the state of the military in high republic canon as I can’t find much on wookieepedia.
What the sith are doing (if at all). I want to set up a side plot of the sith during this period wherein obviously they’re still in hiding from the Jedi.
Anything about different groups like the trade federation, planets such as Alderaan, taris, akiva, onderon etc.
So yeah if any lore nerds wanna help me out that would be cool.
There are 76 chapters and I felt like the last but was unnecessary and could have been used for book 3 (if it wasn’t out yet).
To me The Rising Storm ended when the Nihil said their plan to destroy systems starting with Hetzal Prime. Then it would have the next chapter concluding the Jedis story here. After that the rest felt too extensive and could be saved for later.
I had to do a lot of fast reading and skipping repetitive details or known details.
I’m gonna need a bit of break before book 3. So after the plan… it just lost me.
I’m about halfway through this one, and it’s easily my favorite junior reader book so far. You can really feel the authors getting into their stride, and it makes me glad my completionism made me feel obligated to read them. I sorta trudged through Test of Courage, mainly because I knew Vern was gonna become a bigger part of the story, and wanted to know as much about her as possible, but when it comes to Crashpoint Tower and Mission to Disaster, these are phenomenal additions to the story that I’m really enjoying, and I think it goes to show just how much thought and effort went into making not only those books, but the story as a whole!
this size difference???? this books are getting huuuge
I read Phase 1 as it came out and loved the books but with Phase 2 idk, it’s just not hitting the same. I’ve read Convergence and am partway into Cataclysm and it’s been a real chore for me.
I want to be caught up and on Phase 3 because that’s the continuation of what I was enjoying, and so far Phase 2 really hasn’t felt that essential to the overall story. Is it worth it to finish or can I just move on?
Hoooooo boy, if I want to continue the story light of the jedu set up what are the core things I need to read without spending hundreds on comic books and young adult novels? I'd prefer to skip YA novels if at all possible, I really enjoyed the darker more mature tone of light of the jedi
Mission to Disaster sets up that Vernestra will be going to hunt Nihil with Avar, yet Vernestra does not appear in any of The High Republic issues where Avar is doing such. Is this just an oversight by the artists for the high republic comic?
Obviously, it would have sheets or sections of characters from phase 1-3 and 2 I’m not sure if series bibles Included Backstory to characters besides maybe an introduction here and there about the world? Maybe you could add a section about the 150 year gap between phases two and one.
Granted, this may be a weird post, but I figured it worth Bring up As the TV show Andor Also use a series Bible for it’s characters and content So thought maybe what would it look like for a high Republic version For future writers coming into the series Once phase 3 and the main story
So I was reading through the Convergence and the high republic character encyclopedia and noticed the encyclopedia states Master Roy's lightsaber is yellow. In the book it says it is green and it's his Padawan's (Enya) that is yellow.
Is this an error by the authors or am I missing something?
I haven't moved past LoTJ yet (because Target has taken actual WEEKS to deliver the next 3 books), so if this is talked about or explained later or something, please don't spoil it. I only know of Rwoh's character because of the news about the Acolyte.
I have multiple “Star Wars adventures” comics brought but for example I have one called padawan or pirate and other ones with the Star Wars adventures followed with another title but idk which ones I have to read etc it’s stressing me out 😂
Hello all,
I was scolling though a comic the other day and saw a cool green bloob jedi using a lightsaber. I didnt catch his name. I plan on picking up the comic over the weekend.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I was scrolling through the interwebs today, double checking upcoming release dates for all Phase lll comics. I noticed on Marvel's website that the wasn't anything posted for issue #8 ( no dates, no cover art, nothing). But #9 had all of that, is this common, I haven't been collecting for very long.
Says out of the shadows is phase 1 wave 2 but on Amazon it says the book is part of phase 2. Which is really just so I don’t get mixed up?
From "Into the Dark".
In the Old republic the Jedi order took part in a event called the great hunt. In that hunt The order sought to destroy creatures that were designed by Exar-Kun threatining Jedi Order and force users. This included Silan, Sith Wyrms, and terentatek are the three known species. What I am curious of is 1. perhaps the nameless were included on this list.
From what I have read about the nameless they sound like creatures created by Sith Alchemy. What are your thoughts on this?
