Leveler, shikra rai and nameless. And why would anyone call it the nameless? That name sounds so lame.
Please use spoiler tags if talking about Temptation of the Force please! I'm only on chapter 20!
Imagine we get a Revenge of the Sith style novel (or even movie) about one of the High Republic Jedi falling to the dark side: who would you want it to be? (Characters who've died are fair game!)
My vote would be for either Bell Zetifar or Stellan. Bell has been through alot. I could see that eating away at him. For Stellan, it would be interesting if he had managed to get to a chunk of Starlight Beacon that stayed intact, letting him survive kinda like how Burryaga did. And maybe there's a Nameless or two trapped in there with him... sounds to me like a Sith insta-pot lmao
Just throwing around some fun ideas, not any actual theories personally :)
*Edit* I'm not really asking about viable theories or predictions, more just Rule of Cool stuff - not "Who's the next novel gonna be about?" but more like "Who's your cringy, unabashedly self-indulgent fan-fic gonna be about?" 😂
I want to read the convergence trilogy because path of deceit is not available in ebook format in my country, but I am not sure if the books will make sense if I have not read path of deceit and the other YA novels of phase 2 due to the (rather annoying) interconnectivity with all the material. Do you guys know if I can start reading them or are they not worth it without reading path of deceit first?
Is it show/explained what the technological differences are in phase 2? The difference in technology in phase 1 and the prequels is known but since phase 2 takes place 150 before phase 1, is there another technological jump there?
I'm probably exiting the Star Wars fandom after this series concludes, this has been my main corner of the fandom, and Lucasfilm is probably never going to go back to it ever again.
To that end, I'm back to reading Red Rising, and Sun Eater to fill the Sci-fi shaped hole in my heart. Hopefully, Alecto the Ninth comes out next year too!
I know that the Jedi Temple does show up in the High Republic comics but still this was before the Acolyte (which takes place 132 BBY.) where we see how different it is compared to it's prequel era counterpart. Since the show included a little podium underneath it and Coruscant's Levels are rising. Since the Acolyte takes place in 132 BBY. If we do get more stories set during the 150-year period (between Phase 2 and 1.) or at least a few stories taking place before the main story (like 234-232 BBY.) What would the Jedi Temple would look like by 232 BBY (during the events of Phase 1.) and before that around 382 BBY (during the events of Phase 2.) compared to it's counterpart in the Acolyte which takes around 132 BBY?
I know a few people have mentioned it before but I am reading Midnight Horizon to finally finish Phase 1 and I’m finding it very clunky. It isn’t as good as the other books in this phase so far and I’m wondering why? Does it get any better? I’m 14 chapters in and hoping for something more engaging.
I’ve been waiting to see someone else post this but Its bothering my ocd. if I’m not wrong Master Eve has been advertised as sporting a classic British accent. I’m still only at the beginnings of Tears of the nameless (audiobook), however I’m getting a very different vibe from her voice. It’s almost a european more specifically French voice similar to Lourna Dee. Was there a decision made to change ther background? Is this a Mar Shion=Markion situation because if she has a British accent next book I may freak out lol.
I just reviewed chapter 23 of Path of Deceit. This is where it all goes down, and I am just really enjoying this book.
Without spoiling anything, is this generally the standard of the high republic novels or am I peaking early?
For an example we now know that Marda Ro is the great-great-grandmother of Marchion Ro. But we still don't know how one of Marchion's cousins Kufa is related to the Family Tree like which branch would she be would she be Marda's branch or Yana's branch assuming she does get kids through adoption?
For some reason given they give me of lovecraftian/eldritch horror vibes. I imagined Planet X was created around the same time as The Wellspring of Life (which was the planet that Yoda went in the Clone Wars Season 6.) given they are both very similar at least in terms of their relationships with the Force itself?
Is it possible in a story way to read phase 3 before phase 2? I have heard that phase 3 builds up and continues the characters from phase 1 and I would like to know their story before I read phase 2, which is a prequel right? Does phase 2 set up anything important for phase 3?
I'm catching up on the last couple of months' books and comics. About to read Tears of the Nameless but I see that Reath is a main character in the Echoes of Fear miniseries. Should I read this BEFORE Tears of the Nameless?
Thanks
Do you think that the Republic had their own version of non first contact if not warp capable rule during the exploration of outer rim
In fact Ajax's history makes me wish we learn more or at least have the full story about The Kligson's Moon Uprising and later his first defeat by the team of Jedi led by Loden Greatstorm (although never stated I like the idea that this was the event that made Greatstorm a legend to the Order or at least the event that makes Greatstorm earn him the title of Jedi Master.
It would been cool if both stories are told either novels or a comic series or even better yet an animated short in two parts for the uprising and Ajax defeat in fact I could see them using matrix animated movie anthology short the second renaissance as the main source material for how the uprising play out (as we still don't know the details like we know about droids right but what the moment or incident that lead to a full uprising.) obviously there will be a bit different tones as the Second Renaissance part 1 & 2 were very dark while for a Ajax high republic animated anthology (whatever.) part 1 would be dark while part 2 is where he gets defeat by Loden.
Very much enjoy the main line adult novels but young adult books like Out of the Shadow and Midnight horizon were a slog to get through. I'm already not reading alot so when im working through a book like Shadows or Midnight it tends to take me months because I just don't feel like reading. I know I'm not enjoying the book but I read alot online how you need the young adult books for additional context. Can I just read Eye Of Darkness and Temptation of the Force?
Reath has always been my favorite High Republic character, since Amaxine. However, after the Olympics this year, I can only picture and hear Steven Nedorosik, AKA pommel horse guy, as Reath. Nerdy, yet handsome. Very smart, but clearly capable in the field. Light sabering and acrobatics go hand in hand. Their clear passion and joy. Pommel Horse guy IS Reath Silas, and I love it!
The Jedi after years have failed to find any other concrete method of defending themselves against the Nameless and seem to have lost dozens (at least) by this point, so why have none of them thought to do this? I imagine many of them have friends or members of the Republic Defense Coalition who'd be willing to volunteer for the task. And even if they don't then worst case scenario they could try and find reliable mercenaries, as undignified as that would be.
Hey so I made an Avar themed toon on swtor, I'm struggling to decide which companion is the most fitting for Avar haha, any suggestions?
Haven't had many decent cutscenes yet for a full body pic but this one is ok (side angle) -
Keeve Trennis look on Kira using customisation 2, hair isn't quite right but found a lightsaber that's a pretty good match.. Also gave her a green Padawan sash for now haha, adds to the THR theme.
I was wondering how did people feel about Reath and his love interests? Cause I think really only Nan or Affie could fit for a romance for him. I am hoping they do a some romance arc for his character since I feel he is the few Jedi it works for. Plus so we can see the struggle of a Jedi dealing with their feelings and hiding a relationship with someone outside the order which would hopefully be far healthier then Anakin and Padme (Sorry prequel people we all know there was a ton of red flags in that marriage.)
I just listened to the audiobook but definitely missed some key details. Is there a comprehensive plot overview or synopsis that I can read? I’m mostly missing the details on 1) where those nameless came from; 2) if the nameless in the egg was one of boolans creations; 3) what happened with tep tep and the nameless; 4) how did that Nihil get the egg from churro; 5) is this happening before tears of the nameless (currently reading this now. No spoilers please); and 6) why were the nameless on that planet in the first place? Considering listening to the last half again because I’ve missed some key elements. Though, I’m trying to finish reading tears of the nameless first.
