Grandma Gertie had a lot of.... interesting moments, to say the least. What's your favorite Grandma moment?
Arnold would never know that a few of his friends fucked up Pigeon Man's home and still hangs out with them. How would Arnold react if he found out? And how would Sid react as well if he learned about what they did since he wasn't part of their group in the first season?
So, something always bugged me about this episode. At the point when Helga first tells Phoebe about her sleepwalking problem, she says that she fears telling her deepest darkest secret. Judging from Phoebe's reaction, she knew exactly what Helga meant by it, meaning she knows Helga secretly loves Arnold. My question is, when exactly did Phoebe find out??
I just wanted to share that what I love the most about hey Arnold is that it featured inner city, diverse groups of kids. Most of the cartoons back in the day featured mainly suburban wealthy upper middle class families. As someone who grew up in a diverse neighborhood in the middle of the city, this is the first time I felt seen.
Was this guy a play on Milli Vanilli?
Toran Caudell- This Arnold was more imaginative, definitely more naive, and often had his head in the clouds.
Phillip Van Dyke- This Arnold was more low-key about things. He was the most 'chill' out of all of them. He was basically a more relaxed version of what Spencer Klein's take would be.
Spencer Klein- This Arnold was the most romantic of all of them, as well as basically being Jesus incarnate for the whole town. This was his wise sage era.
Alex D. Linz- From what little we got of this Arnold, he had a real mischievous streak.
Mason Vale Cotton- I don't have much to say about this version, quite honestly. I wish I was a bigger fan of The Jungle Movie, but it just didn't hit for me. That's just my personal taste though.
Which take of Arnold was your favorite?
Also, did I miss any voice actors? I think I got all of them, correct?
Just saw this on PlutoTV. It's one of my all time fave episodes. What do you think of it?
Fan theory: Helga is an estimated 10 years younger than Olga, which means that Olga had 10 solid years of creating the “Pataki high standard bar” that Helga limbos under. We see in the episode where Helga is competing Arnold in the spelling bee that Helga throws the competition to be quote “free finally free”. This means that Helga may also be gifted, but she doesn’t want to be a “wind up toy” like Olga claims that she herself is. Their parents have sky high expectations of both children but only one rises above those expectations. Helga and Olga probably never had a good sisterhood and probably never will due to dual resentment. I say dual because in “Olga comes home”, Olga says she’s jealous of Helga for being able to fly under the radar. What Olga is completely forgetting/ignoring though is that Helga is neglected on a regular basis and then shown that her sister is very wanted and loved. I don’t blame either sister for acting the way they do though: Helga knows that she could be just like Olga but it would mean constantly having to be perfect, which is exhausting. Olga on the other hand is so conditioned, she cannot handle failure (hence losing it over a B+). She didn’t even do what most over achievers do and call the professor or the school for extra credit or for a grade boost- she accepted the schools grade and instead punished herself. This is all to say that their parents, aka Bob Pataki, almost ensured that his daughters wouldn’t ever find true companionship with each other because in all actuality, he’d probably prefer if Helga tried to outperform Olga because let’s be real here: it wouldn’t be enough to be at Olga’s level. Olga and Helga were doomed for the start and as scapegoat child turned adult, I don’t think they’d have a good relationship later in life either. The mutual opposing resentment would eat up whatever remaining resemblance of understanding over the years.
Best delivery and F you moment from Olga. What's your favorite Olga moment?
Let’s see who the real fans are
I'm thankful for my boyfriend and that all my family are in perfect health.
Right now I'm in the middle of the episode, "crush on teacher". You remember Arnold and the gang had a substitute teacher, named "Ms.Felter" ? The last name was interesting. Felter ("Felt her")
That's just a few to name:
There was another hidden gag in an episode "Ernie in Love", where Arnold helped Ernie get a date with a model name "Lola" anywho, there were a few scenes in the episode that would have been censored today.
The scene at the carnival where they were playing "wack a mole" where Lola said "I whacked a mole. I whacked it good"
Ernie stands up to Lola for putting him down for being short. And he told her "I'm taking my nuts".
What are some more hidden adult jokes from Hey Arnold you could think of?
There are more. A lot more
Time to dress as Benjamin Franklin, reenact the signing of the Declaration of Independence, grill hotdogs in ice cold weather and launch the fireworks.
Adult Helga and Arnold would have thanksgiving traditions with their kids. Born out of the events of the thanksgiving episode. The main one would be the Shortman way of acting like it’s the 4th of July instead of thanksgiving. Arnold dresses like Ben Franklin (like in the episode) and Grandpa Miles wears an Uncle Sam hat. Stella would be lady liberty lol. They put off mini-fireworks in the backyard.
Of course Helga would rather do that than how it was at her place. Just another day of her parents forgetting about her. But they would take pies over to Bob and Miriam just to be nice.
I might give a hot take, I think the episode Best Friends might be in the running for the worst episode, I think the pacing is terrible and the story is muttled and the ending angers me
