Is there a way to play hexen 1 with splitscreen co op? On pc of course.
I played Hexen a ton as a kid on the N64 I’ve spent years looking for games that felt like it or reminded me of it, but I couldn’t remember the name, but today I have finally found it. I am super excited to download the pack on steam tonight and try them again!
Hi, I'm playing Hexen II (coop) and for some reason i'm losing level/exp once in a while -- without any specific trigger or pattern.
I'm playing in the Hammer of Thyrion source port (latest version) and coop + hamachi (my friend is the host of the world) as an Assassin
I'm lv 5 right after War bossfight and he is lv 8 -- i was supposed to be the same lv as him lol
any idea what it could be? i could solve the problem by cheating and setting my lv to 8 but i want to know the root of the issue
As the title says, looking for great vanilla WADs for Hexen that would also hopefully fix/tweak the original’s gameplay loop/confusing nature. Been wanting to get back into it but not have a walkthrough to enjoy the game.
Looking forward to what the community has done :)
Title. I would love to do this as I have FoV 125 on every Quake 1 game. Thanks a lot. Using the Hammer of Thyrion source port btw.
Do you guys think they’ll ever port this game over there to play on current consoles? And it should be the N64 version, since the soundtrack is awesome.
If not, there should be.
Mine is Mage.
I always do this. In fact I am looking forward to after I beat death kings to try Hexen II, and I'm excited that it has binding options for all the items. Any games with inventories, even Dukem or Skyrim, I just never use anything in the heat of battle.
I am too concentrated on trying to keep moving that my brain just doesn't think of using anything except the healing items, I just don't like switching inventory items during fights, takes my mind off moving and shooting.
I made a medieval specasting FPS game, with some Heretic vibes. I hope it scratches someone's itch for blasting demons with spells.
I'm sure some of y'all know about Quad, the OpenTouch project's platform for Q1-3 and likely know it can also run Hexen 2. Problem is my files won't work by themselves and neither will the patches, the game simply refuses to launch either way. Any help would be appreciated, .
Basically title :)
I know that Hexen heroes have their unique names, but what about Hexen 2?
For people who played HeXen before the internet took off, how did you figure out certain things without a guide?
My girlfriend and I started playing the N64 version of HeXen together and made a co-op save. We got maybe an hour or 2 in before we decided to save and quit. Then out of curiosity, I went to the main menu and changed the graphics setting from "smooth" to "zoom" and started a new single player save. We liked the way the game looked a lot more with zoom but we can't seem to find a way to change that setting in our existing co-op save because we can't access that setting in game. Every time I change the setting on the main menu then load our save, it looks like it also always loads the original config I had when we started playing.
Is there anything I can do to update the config for that existing save? I'm wondering if there's some other way to load saves that isn't obvious to me lol
Hello my brethren, so after dabbling with open touch on android and loving the doom mods I discovered hexen and I'm wondering if there are any gzdoom mods for hexen that would livin up the game a bit? So far I'm using the HD 2020 mod with the wrath of cronos mod and it's pretty good but..... I'd like to add some better animations if possible? Maybe explode their heads and more gore. Killing stuff is not very satisfying imo especially when it's the same enemies over and over. Any recommendations?
So a long time I ago I played the mod while it was in it's earliest stages and I was wondering how is it 's development progressing or was it cancelled?
Each time I revisit this game I play all three classes through. I find cleric to be the easiest but I like the weapons of the other classes more. Sure wraithverge is toasted but I barely ever get to see a guy blow up in front of me as I do with bloodscourge or quietus. Speaking of quietus I think some people vastly underrate it. It's not as flashy but it's basically a shotgun which when combined with the fighter's speed and armor can be stupid useful. Being said I think I like the mage most overall. Coolest weapons in my opinion. His 2nd and 4th weapon require some skill to maximize effect but they're great and fun to use
Holy crap - This game is amazing!
I'm a big console player and growing up the only PC games I can remember were Doom, Duke Nukem, Quarantine, Wolfenstein, and Rise of the Triad.
Recently I have been playing around with GZDOOM playing Doom 1, 2, and the others, with the brutal doom mod which is awesome.
Then I found after I installed Hexen Beyond Heretic on STEAM that it plays in GZDOOM with all modern graphics/controls.
Holy crap. This game is beyond amazing, like truly ahead of it's time. If I played this as a kid back then I'd have shit my pants.
The puzzles, level design, it's amazing. I just finished the 7 portals or whatever level, opening all those gates, holy shit it took me a while.
Q1 - What else have I missed from the 90s that I could play with modern graphics/controls like this?
Q2- Once I'm done with Hexen, what's the best way to play Hexen 2? And whats Heretic? little confused of the series and the playing order.
