Back in 2009, I binged Heroes seasons 1-3, and really loved it. For me, it fell apart the second half of season 3 and season 4 was just utter dog shit. Lol. Have not watched Heroes Reborn, btw.
Out of anyone, Hiro should arguably have the most development, growth, and maturity. But his character changes very little when you compare it to season one to the start of season 3.
I'm currently rewatching Heroes and finished Season 3, Ep The dude has time traveled to multiple eras, gained legit samurai experience, made his father proud, almost got killed a few times, fell in love (twice), put man to have a fate worse then death (Adam Monroe), and all that just doesn't lead to anywhere, and arguably he regresses as a character.
In Season 3, Ep. 1, we see Hiro in his new office utterly bored. He gets a new task from his late father to keep half the formula protected in the safe. And what's the first thing he does when discovering this new info? He immediately opens the safe not following his father's orders. He acts like a child and just clueless with no regard for loyalty or respect.
Season 1 Hiro would not have done this. Hiro was a man of respect, loyalty, and principle, albeit, naively so. But nonetheless, I highly doubt he would have made the same mistake.
It's just so frustrating to see.
I guess the series takes place years later, maybe have it focus on their grand kids or something.
So I'm just confused about this plot hole. I'm a first time watcher on season 4 episode 5 and I know at the end of season 3 that the real Nathan Petrelli died and Matt manipulated the real Sylar's psyche so that he could turn into Nathan. And, they buried the shapeshifter who was pretending to be Sylar.
So, why would that shapeshifter wake up with all of Sylar's powers and feel as if he is the real Sylar?
Edit: Went back and rewatched season 4 episode 3 and saw that Sylar went back to normal after getting shot and buried. That's what I get for trying to binge the series, my bad 😂
I used to watch it on TV as a kid in 2007 and now seeing so many clips on YT Shorts, etc.
I have Amazon Prime but it's Turkish and as far as I know it's available only in the US. So, anyone knows a steaming website or so that still works and got Heroes. I'd appreciate any good info, but I'm not gonna use VPN cuz it's literally illegal here 💀
Ik it's funny that piracy is completely fine while using VPN is not, lol.
just curious, what do you expect from the story? characters and other things about the reboot.
well, i hope they improve the part about the Evos because it's practically the same as the mutants in x-men, a superhuman race that lives among humans and are a race and for god's sake let them explore the eclipse more. (sorry if there are any mistakes, i don't speak english)
So, I'm a first-time watcher and I'm on S3 E20. I just have so many thoughts about what was done with the character Matt Parkman but I'm lazy so I'll make bullet points.
Hiro’s storyline in Season 2 being in 1671 Japan was the more interesting story going on, how he gets to meet his hero Takezo Kendal which eventually becomes Adam Monroe and becomes the villain. I also enjoyed Hiro and Yaeko being together. Season 2 is very under appreciated in my opinion but obviously not as good as the first season.
Hey everyone,
I'm looking for an episode of heroes where someone, I'm not sure if Sylar or Peter, or anyone else (It's been ages since I watched the series), they invade the shapeshifter's apartment. Particularly the identity of when he is a blond white man with short hair iirc. More specifically I'm looking the timestamp where they are at the bathroom, and pick up the razor blade holder. I need one just like his'.
Anyway, just knowing the episode would be great, thanks in advance.
Anyone else been thinking about or rewatching Reborn lately after the news of solar flare and Northern Lights appearing south? I’m starting to wonder if Tim Kring is Isaac Mendez in real life. 🤯🤔
I was harsh on Reborn as a long time fan, but now I’m not as harsh because of how close to reality it’s becoming. Makes me eager and apprehensive for “Eclipsed” next year.
This is probably a dumb question, but, other than buying it from Amazon, how can I watch Reborn: Dark Matters? When I go to the NBC page, the "Episodes" link just loops back to the primary page. Most older links don't seem to work anymore.
Somehow I missed that Dark Matters and Reborn (separate things?) even existed. Granted, I watched the original show up until the third season, then got busy with life and didn't watch the last two seasons until 2019-ish.
Hiro is by far the highlight character of the show and one of my favorite characters. Masi Oka did a great job with the character and the material he was given.
I wish Caitlin stuck around for the rest of the series, would have liked to see how Peter’s relationship with her would have been if Peter didn’t destroy the Shanti Virus.
The few times they interacted I enjoyed the scenes.
I remember thinking this was a weird oversight the first time I saw it during its original run...
They act like Carbondale is a suburb of Chicago and a kid who doesn't drive can go to an Evos Anon meeting in Chicago and then comfortably be back in Carbondale without his mom noticing. It's a 10 hour round trip by car.
Oh how naive I was thinking it might get better from here.
They really slutshame Niki for being a camgirl/sex worker and the show treats it as very taboo.
Makes me realize how much has changed socially in almost 20 years. The stigma of sex work would be much less... Especially in somewhere like Vegas.
What other story beats and plot points would've changed if the story took place today?
A quick one: Chandra Suresh would've probably had an Uber... It's actually unrealistic that he could afford a taxi medallion in the first place.
They sure forget about Nathan’s (ex) wife and 2 boys pretty quick after season 1.
They’re basically never mentioned again and even Nathan only mentions Angela, Peter, and Claire as his family.
In Nathan’s funeral episode we kind of see them but it’s only the backs of their heads in a split second shot.
Working on a full rewatch of the series. On Season 3, Episode 10, The Eclipse (part 1). While we're conditioned on watching this show to view those with powers (evos? I hate that word. Let's just stick with "those with powers") as simply in a different class altogether than normal humans in a fight, we get an object lesson on how that isn't really the case at all. In a brief moment when everyone's powers simply stop working for a hot moment...Noah finds himself in a melee with Sylar and Elle. And despite keeping one eye on Claire to try to keep her out of the fight, he absolutely demolishes both of them in less than 15 seconds. If Elle hadn't managed to get off a gunshot at Claire, which Noah really couldn't have stopped anyway, he'd have had them both finished off permanently in another 15 seconds or less. Gone. Ceased to be. Off to meet their maker.
I mean, obviously they weren't going to write it that way, but in-character, Noah absolutely would have had zero compunctions about snapping a couple of necks there. Considering his history with those two in particular, he might have enjoyed it just a bit, too.
So, over and above the whole "different league" argument...yeah, Noah's kind of a badass in disguise as Middle-Aged Dad. And at least a couple of times per season, we get a little reminder of that.
I’ve just recently my fan edit of the Season 1 finale, and I’m excited to share the trailer with you! The goal of the edit was to wrap up the series with one season, removing set-up for future plotlines.
If you ever felt like the show lost its way after Season 1, this version might be for you. The changes are minimal but key: Sylar’s fate is sealed, and I’ve included a final montage for some much-needed closure for the main characters. Check out the trailer and let me know your thoughts!
Hi, im currently rewatching and my question is: when Hiro and Ando are just being shot by Hope, why is it that him reversing time makes the gun missfire? Cuz im guessing the first answer thought of is probably something like "he only reversed the bullet". But i wouldve thought they would make a bigger deal out of using the power only on that specific thing (without him touching that thing like he does in timestop (ultra slow mo)). Any help is much appreciated.
P.S. I will also accept the answer of "ehh" .
I keep seeing this credit.. Lisa Coleman with the voice of Shenkar.
Who is it?
I kept expecting some sneaky animated character or something (I don't know hahaha)
Also is Lisa related to Jack?
In the ep Unexpected Isaac has the painting of Hiro and the T-rex in the background while fighting with Peter even though it was ripped and still with Hiro at this time.
Save the cheerleader, save the world. Rewatching again
I vaguely recall watching the series premiere back in the day. I recently came across the DVD set at Walmart for $35. Tempted to buy it. The main character that I'm interested in is Claire. But I looked her up on Wikipedia, and, considering Heroes: Reborn, am I gonna be able to enjoy the original series at all or just feel bad all of the time? Should I just check it out on streaming instead?
Hello everyone.
I was recommended this show so I'm watching it. Ive heard from some people that it goes downhill from after season 1. I'm currently on episode 11.
Also what about the reboot? Worth watching as well?
So what do you think? Is it worth watching after season 1?
I can't read his mind, he's thinking in Russian!
I'm almost through with season 2 of my rewatch and I noticed:
