I’m sure I might get some downvotes or rude comments. But I’m thinking of moving to Herndon and I was just wondering how accommodating of trans people and lgbtq as a whole it is. Is it safe both for lgbtq and in general if like I wanted to go for a walk or hike.

And then I also have some general questions like what are good spots for stuff like hiking or other fun things to do. And also where are good places to meet people as there’s a chance I’ll be moving there alone.

Gf and I recently moved here and are looking for things to do/ get into throughout the week. We moved from Utah where we always had something to do with hikes, hot springs, lakes, and a good bar scene all within 15-20 minutes of my house... so getting used to the "city life" has been an adjustment. Looking to find a weekly bingo night or any other recs to get us out of the house here and there! Would love to find a VFW, American Legion, or Elks club type place nearby, but they all seem to be a good distance away

Anyone else see the new Bonchon that finally reopened up on Franklin Farm? I used to go there when they were open before and they were closed for a solid year and a half. It seems like they finally reopened and even remodeled the place.

Does this happen often in Herndon? We’ve been here for a year and we’ve had someone knock on our door asking if we wanted to buy their parsley they had with them….

29F. I don't party and I'm not much of a drinker, which I know will probably lesson my chances since many people go to bars and lounges. Where can I meet people to possibly make friends? I am new to the area (female, in my 30s, just relocated from the West Coast) for a new job with a company in the area and am considering renting a place near Elden / Alabama (the place is off Alabama - going a little further west on Alabama St) because I found a great price.

I keep hearing / reading mixed things about this specific area of Herndon and wanted to get your thoughts? How safe do you feel in this area if you have ever lived there or currently live there? At night do you feel safe? Is there any crime or gang activity in the area or is that a thing of the past? If there is some, what kind is it usually?

I am looking at other places on surrounding towns, so I don't need information about other areas nearby - just info about this area :)

Considering taking a position and relocating. I have a wife with no kids, yet. Is that compensation enough for a single income & a house within 15 miles of Herndon? The compensation will increase quite a bit with experience, but I don’t want to be renting for a significant amount of time.
