Ex coffee/caffeine addict trying herbal tea tips?

Hey all,

I have been coffee and caffeine free since November last year. I made the decision to quit because I am an anxiety sufferer.

So far I like pukka night time tea and twinnings cherry and cinnamon tea in the day time. I add honey to sweeten both, I was wondering if this affects the benefit of drinking herbal teas? I know it's better than processed sugar however!

I'm also curious about teapots. Do they keep tea warm? I'm wondering if I can make a pot of tea first thing in the morning and it will stay warm for a few hours?

Is it better to make your own herbal teas from scratch or is there not much difference with teabags?

Is there a limit to the amount of herbal tea you should drink in a day? Finally, I'm not really fussed about this either way but is there evidence that herbal teas are beneficial for you? Like does cammomile really have a mild sedative effect, does valerian root really make you sleepy, that sort of thing?

Thanks for any help from this herbal tea newbie!

What should I grow in my tea garden??

I would like to start a bit of a tea garden for this coming spring, just trying to build a good list of plants I should grow

The growing area is southwestern Ontario, slightly cold hardy and moisture tolerant.

I am here for all suggestions, from flavour to positive effects, I would love to hear what you guys think would be best.

Gunna cross post into some other garden, tea and herbalism subreddits, hope that isn’t an issue.

Thanks a ton in advance for all the help:)

Herbal infusion brew below boiling?

I really enjoy brewing Yerba Mate at 160 degrees F and be able to drink it much quicker than a cup of boiling herbal tea. However, I am letting go of caffeine right now. Does anyone know of any herbal infusions that will brew a delicious taste at 160-175? Bonus for healing properties! Also open to other types of hot drinks if applicable. Thanks y’all!

Need help finding ingredients

I went to the Middle East for vacation and tasted a great herbal tea. I asked the guy for the recipe and he said it included: (The leaves are needed) Hyssop, Salvia, Marva, White leaves Savory (micromeria) and cinnamon

Does anyone know where I can find these items? I’ve been looking around but it doesn’t seem like anyone is carrying them.

Cranberry in herbal tea.

So, me and my brother are trying to elaborate some biological herbal blends aiming to support some medical conditions. The thing is, we are trying to make a blend including cranberrys but we cannot find one single place in europe which sells dried cranberry without having extras (like sugar and whatever). My question is, why do people only sell cranberry with apple juice and etc? Is is ok to make tea with that? we also didn't want to herbal teas with extra sugar..

Is Loose Tea Cheaper Than Teabags?

Most of the world’s population is made of tea lovers. However, you don’t need to take expensive tea to have a mind-blowing tea experience. The big question is whether Loose tea is cheaper than teabags?
Generally, Loose Leaf tea is cheaper than tea bags, and that’s why it’s primarily sold in bulk. People buy it in bulk to save money, especially the daily tea drinkers.
