New Group: Rosy Chronicle (ロージークロニクル)

The Kenshuusei Unit '24 has now become Rosy Chronicle, with two additional members (nine altogether). No CD debut date yet, but they will be participating in the upcoming summer HaroCons and Tokyo Idol Festival.

  • Matsubara Yulia (light blue)
  • Onoda Karin (pink)
  • Hashida Honoka (white)
  • Murakoshi Ayana (light purple)
  • Uemura Hasumi (orange)
  • Yoshida Hinoha (pure red)
  • Kamimura Rena (yellow)
  • Shimakawa Hana (bright green)
  • Soma Yume (blue)

The name comes from "rosy (in color)," "hopeful/optimistic," and "full of joy," and chronicle as in "a yearly record of history," with the combined name Rosy Chronicle expressing H!P/UFP's wish for them to have a history full of hope/joy.

BerryzKobou songs!!

Hello! So, a few years ago I was a very avid listener of BerryzKobo, but over time I kinda stopped listening to them. Now, I am trying to listen to them again, but it seems that their music has been completely wiped off of Apple Music and Spotify everywhere, and the only traces I can find are their old music videos on Youtube. But, Youtube does not have any fo their bsides and such aside from a few random uploads. No matter where I look, I cannot find any of the ones I listened to such as "nigiyaka na fuyu" and others. Does anyone know anywhere I can find their discography online, preferably free? Thank you! Also sorry if this is worded weirdly I'm bad at wording things lol.

New Juice=Juice & Morning Musume '22 members!

Juice=Juice gained two members:

  • Endo Akari, 2008/04/26 (14 years old), Hokkaido - her member color mint green was given when she met the group
  • Ishiyama Sakura, 2004/2/22 (18), Tokyo; KSS 31ki (same as now-sempai Arisawa Ichika) - her member color purple was given at the same time as Endo Akari

Kudo Yume has also changed her member color from light pink to pink.

Morning Musume '22 gained one member:

  • Sakurai Rio, 2005/11/11 (16), Tokyo - her member color is yet TBD

(As estimated, Sakurai was able to meet Morito Chisaki before her graduation, but the announcement HaroSute was released just after her Budokan graduation.)

Both groups will introduce their new members to live audiences this weekend.

Morito Chisaki to graduate Morning Musume/H!P on June 20th, 2022 (and other updates)

Morito Chisaki (the last former Country Girls member) will graduate at the Nippon Budokan on June 20th, 2022, the final concert of the Spring tour series. She originally wanted to graduate in 2021 to study English abroad, but had to postpone due to COVID-19.

Other updates include:

  • The joint Morning Musume/Juice=Juice audition has finished its first round, with successful participants notified about the second round. If they follow the same timeline as the 15ki audition, we should have the 16ki around Morito's graduation.
  • Japanese fans are pointing out the colors of the Beat no wakusei outfits, as well as the scenes showing certain girls sitting on a stool alone, hypothesizing the red outfits and seated members (Ikuta and Haga, with Morito and Sato) possibly being on the list to graduate next. This is quite similar to the Love Machine "curse," where members ended up graduating in Japanese vertical text order (top to bottom, right to left) based on the single's jacket cover.
  • BEYOOOOONDS will get their first Nippon Budokan live during this Spring tour series, while Tsubaki Factory also got their second date announced on their 5th anniversary special.

December 2021 Recap

  • The Hello! Project Kenshuusei Unit got two new members (Tashiro Sumire, 16; Tsutsui Roko, 14) and their name: OCHA NORMA (pronounced ocha nooma). The name was inspired by the word for living room (ochanoma), tea (ocha), and the Latin word for quota/standard norma, hoping they become as universally liked as tea in everyone's living rooms, and becoming the new standard in the idol industry. The members also got their member colors. Fun fact: all ten members hail from a different prefecture, with H!P's first ever members from Okayama and Saga prefectures.
  • Hirayama Yuki (HPK 30th gen) was announced as ANGERME's new 10ki member (member color: light green) at their Countdown Premium. She is ANGERME's fourth single member generation. Immediately after she was announced, she performed with the group, mostly taking Momona's lines. Her solo addition means the ANGERME/OCHA NORMA audition did not produce any ANGERME winners.
  • A joint audition for Morning Musume's 16ki and Juice=Juice's 6ki was announced at Morning Musume's Countdown Premium, with applications closing February 9th. If everything goes to time (like Morning Musume's 15ki audition), audition winners should be announced in June/July.
  • BEYOOOOONDS will release their 3rd single on March 2nd, with two confirmed songs: Eiyuu ~Waratte Chopin sempai~ (Lyrics: Hoshibe Sho) and Hamukatsu mokushiroku (Lyrics: Kodama Ameko, Composition: Hoshibe Sho)
  • Juice=Juice announced Uemura Akari as its new leader at Kanazawa's graduation, and Dambara Ruru & Inaba Manaka as subleaders at their Countdown Premium. Tsubaki Factory announced Niinuma Kisora as its subleader at their Countdown Premium.

H!P Updates 9/13/2021: Kasahara's graduation (and news about Kamei?)

  1. Kasahara Momona (ANGERME) will graduate from the group on November 15th at the Nippon Budokan. Since this falls before the end of the H!P Fall tour schedule, she will not participate in any concerts held after that date.
  2. Kamei Eri (ex Morning Musume) was confirmed to have married BUMP OF CHICKEN's lead singer Fujiwara Motoo, both through a tabloid and a "jumping the gun" tweet from her sister after the article was published. BUMP OF CHICKEN's management later commented they will not comment on any of their acts' personal lives, which sort of confirmed the reports, too. There's been discussion as to whether or not this was an ethical grey area since Kamei is no longer in the public eye.
  3. Tsubaki Factory finished their 26-hour TV special celebrating their first solo Budokan concert by announcing a new triple A-side single to be released on November 17th: Garakuta DIAMOND (lyrics: Mori Yuriko, composition: Kamada Toshiya & Makaino Kouji, arrangement: Sumikama Tomohiro; all prolific throughout the years, but I believe this is one of their first H!P works); Yakusoku, renraku, kinenbi (lyrics: Kodama Ameko, composition: Hoshibe Sho, arrangement: Ookubo Kaoru); and Namida no heroine koubangeki (lyrics: Yamazaki Aoi, composition: Shusui/Josef Melin, arrangement: Josef Melin).
  4. Two new Kenshuusei were introduced: Yoshida Hinoha (Saitama; DOB July 8th, 2007) and Kawasaki Mifu (Kyoto; DOB December 13, 2007), both presumably from the joint Juice=Juice/Tsubaki Factory audition.
  5. Juice=Juice's Uemura Akari and ANGERME's Sasaki Rikako are the 4th and 5th girls to feature on TV show "Azatokute nani ga warui no?" Sasaki is in their mini dorama, while Uemura got to sing like Kamikokuryo does.

Maeda/Kudo Timeline

Since it's been making rounds on Twitter lately and fans are retracing blog posts to find the connections/mentions, here's a quick rundown of the long-standing relationship between Maeda Kokoro (BEYOOOOONDS/Ame no mori kawa umi) & Kudo Haruka (Morning Musume OG):

2013: Kudo says in a blog she visited a childhood friend's house, and was shown that friend's little sister's H!P collection. Kudo mentions the little sister is a big fan of H!P. We would later come to find out she's referring to Maeda Kokoro ("little sister") and Maeda Kentaro ("childhood friend"). Kudo/Kentaro were 14, while Kokoro was 11 at the time.

2015: Maeda Kokoro becomes a Hello! Project Kenshuusei member.

2017: Kudo Haruka graduates from Morning Musume and Hello! Project to focus on acting.

2018: Kudo appears in a Super Sentai series on TV, created not long after the Kamen Rider series.

2019: Maeda Kokoro debuts in BEYOOOOONDS/Ame no mori kawa umi, and has a leading role in A-side "Megane no otoko no ko,' playing the titular character.

2020: Maeda Kokoro reveals in a blog Kudo Haruka was a close family friend due to her older brother since she was 2, and was inspired to join H!P because of her.

Early 2021: Maeda Kentaro starts making the rounds amongst JPN-speaking H!P fans after it's been revealed he's been cast as the new Kamen Rider. His profile listed he's from Saitama, has done karate, and is Kudo Haruka's age, which connects him back to Maeda Kokoro (who has already mentioned she has an older brother). Instagram (kentaro_maeda_official) posts on April 27th and May 1st also point to his younger sister taking his photos.

August 5th, 2021: Maeda Kokoro reveals her brother is starring in the new Kamen Rider series airing one month from now, confirming their brother-sister relationship.

Upcoming member lineup changes

Happy news from this news release:

  1. The new Kenshuusei Unit (currently consisting of Ishiguri Kanami, Yonemura Kirara, Kubota Nanami, and Saito Madoka) will get new members, with the announcement to air on HaroDori on July 6th, 1:00AM JST (night of July 5th).
  2. Juice=Juice and Tsubaki Factory's joint audition has finished, and the winners will be announced on July 7th's HaroSute, with a YouTube Premiere Viewing starting at 7:00PM JST.

On a sadder note, Kasahara Momona will graduate from ANGERME sometime before the end of 2021. Once the date is firmed up, another announcement will be made.

Concerts in Japan

Hello,

I am from the US and my dream is to attend Suzuki Airi's tour (probably next year). I was wondering if the security at concerts has any rules that I should know in advance. For example, I read that you can bring water and bags--do they not regulate these things (like they do in America)? I know most don't allow photos, with Airi as the exception.

Thanks for your input, and if you've attended an H!P concert, please share some details with me! :)
