How do you work with her? By leaving her offerings, singing her hymns? Or?
How does one start to work with goddess Aphrodite? I have been giving her offerings and singing her hymns almost everyday now, but Im looking to work truly with her. What’s the most common way people do it? Thanks!
My parents are trying to convert me to Hinduism. They force me to do their worship and forbid me from being Hellenic routinely calling it a “demon cult”. Help what should I do
How common is the worship of this goddess in the modern Hellenic Polytheist community? I know she was historically adopted by parts of the ancient Greek world. How is she seen in relation to, lets, say Gaea?
Historically speaking is was common to believe that different peoples worshipped the same gods under different names. Is that the prevailing view in the Hellenic Polytheist community?
Hey I'm going through a hard bout of depression and I need some guidance but I don't know how to communicate this with the Divinities who should I reach out to in this truly anguishing time
Does the average Hellenic Pagan believe that he is too holy or uncaring to be invoked in day to day religious life.
There's plenty of general pagan/wiccan youtube channels, and there's a few heathen channels. But I'm not aware of any Hellenic channels.
Anybody know of some?
Is there a specific way to pray? Do you speak in a certain way? How do you pray to the gods? Do you pray to one god or all of them? I’m not getting lucky in finding information online.
Just share below, I’m curious!
I know that pagan culture in general is fundamentally symbolic. However, I was wondering if anybody can tell me if the Gods have specific symbols that can be used to represent them.
I’m looking for something along the lines of the seals for spirits in different grimoires.
I know it’s not the same, and I’ll probably catch some shit for the comparison, but it’s the easiest comparison I can think of.
I’m building a tiered altar, and I’d like each level to have some sort of symbol, “seal”, or whatever word works best for people, on each level for the corresponding God.
I figured this would be a good place to ask...I apologize if the comparison is offensive, I’m working with what I’ve got...
Hi! I am planning on converting to Hellenic Polytheism from Christianity and I need help on some of the basics. How do I start? What is the naming ceremony? Do I have to perform a ritual? How would my daily life change (like how often do I pray and perform sacrifices and give offerings?) Is anyone willing to teach the basics or link resources for a beginner?Sorry if I sound totally clueless!
Newbie back again to ask - does anyone have any ideas or assistance in creating an altar and shrine dedicated for Apollo? I haven’t seen a lot of people who mainly invoke or worship Apollo, and I’m so new to this that I find myself needing more guidance in terms of where to go. I sort of need a nudge onto the right path
Hello all! I’m... extremely new to this all, in terms of actual worship. I come from a Christian family and background (although I lost my faith years ago as I felt it was wrong - something in me told me there was /more/ than just what I had) and I’d like to begin in Hellenic polytheism. I’ve read on it quite a bit already, but something I’m still confused on is prayers.
Is there a structure? Do you open/close a certain way? For example, I’ve always prayed growing up with the usual “dear god” and ended with “amen”. I was always taught to never ever explicitly ask for something in prayer lest it be ignored. Does that apply here as well? I just don’t want to seem foolish or disrespect whomever I’m praying to by doing it incorrectly. Any help would be appreciated
Hello all! So I was having a hard time finding a Discord server related to Hellenismos.. so I made one!
Please keep in mind that I'm still very new in the practice, and a novice at managing a discord server, so I hope to bring in more experienced members in both aspects to the server to aide me in building the community!
If any of you are aware of a Hellenismos specific Discord server I would very much appreciate a link if you wouldn't mind!
I would like to thank you all for your help in advance (and do forgive me for how scarce the server is, as mentioned before, I'm still a novice in many aspects!)
not to say i havent had time, but my time has been occupied by trying to exist in the real world when im not working/studying & it’s been hard to reconnect with Dionysus. i just want to make sure i’m not being offensive or rude, i just genuinely have been occupied elsewhere recently. how do you all feel about this?
Sorry if this is inappropriate but I was wondering there was a Hellenic Facebook group discussing worship. Preferably a closed group.
hello all first i would like to thank everyone for those that have responded to my previous posts, the answers i received have helped clear up a lot of things for me and for that i am very thankful but i still have one question (group of relly). i have looked through many source material (video and books) and am still curious, are you supposed to pray and chant a hymn or is just a prayer fine and say for example you light incense as an offering do you let them burn out fully or can you put them out when your prayer/hymn is done? also is it ok to have more than one patron god/goddess or should you focus devotion to one?
I would like to thank every one who has responded previously, you have been a huge help.
Hello, i am new and have a couple of questions.
My name is David Christy, I hope this is an inappropriate post please take it down. I'm a doctoral candidate in the Pastoral Counseling department at Loyola University Maryland. I'm recruiting participants for an online survey that is part of my dissertation research. My study examines how coping resources, including faith and spirituality, can help individuals in the face of various stressors.
Most of our current psychological understandings of religion and spirituality are based on studies of Christians. I'm trying to expand and add nuance to that knowledge base by collecting data from a wide variety of religious traditions, with a focus on people practicing minority faiths (e.g., Pagans, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, and so on). Christians and people with no religious affiliation are also encouraged to participate; this will allow me to draw meaningful comparisons between groups. The data generated by this study will help therapists, counselors, and social workers better understand the role of religion and spirituality in well-being.
Participation involves responding to several questionnaires that measure your experience, personality, spirituality, and personal functioning; as well as providing non-identifying demographic information. Completing all the surveys generally takes between 30 to 45 minutes.
If you are 18 years or older and interested in participating either click on the link below or copy and paste it into a web browser.

Does anyone know where to get these things? Or what Kybele worship looks like?
Hi!
So I have a few questions regarding the myths. Do you consider them true? As in they are actual stories and happened? Or did the Ancient Greeks considered them true?
Would the gods forgive minor things? Also what about your thoughts? Do you must always agree with the acts? What if you don't? Will they punish you for thinking something ?
