️Reminder: MOBILE Network HIPs 132, 133, and 134

This is your final opportunity to vote for the MOBILE Network HIPs:

🗳️HIP 132: Scaling MOBILE Mappers

Currently, only Helium Mobile subscribers can participate in discovery and verification mapping, which limits network growth. This proposal aims to increase Wi-Fi mappers by removing the requirement to be a service provider customer, making it easier for anyone to join and help expand the network.

🗳️ HIP 133: Bridging Gap for Anti-Gaming Measures Phase 2

This proposal aims to make updates to HIP 131. This HIP focuses on making the Helium Network resilient by improving verification processes. It will expand the scope to cover areas that were not previously included, such as specific geographic regions (C-graded areas) and improvements to Oracle Hex Boosting.

🗳️ HIP 134: Rewarding MOBILE Carrier Offload Hotspots

This proposal outlines measures to reward and incentivize Hotspots for adding utility to the MOBILE network through participation in Carrier Offload.

Number of subscribers question from HM Planner

Are number of subscribers purely ANY device that connects to your hotspot irrespective of passing data? I don't see much data transfer by on Nov. 17 I had 119 subscribers connected to my hotspot. Here is the chart....but when I look at data transferred it only transferred 130MB that day...

https://preview.redd.it/h2v3orpyft1e1.png?width=456&format=png&auto=webp&s=cd32498e132eb575b29c7785d835d66c4f532c3e

Prior to the break in subscribers here I had my outdoor hotspot at a commercial building, but due to security concerns and it being connected to their same network we decided to remove it. Sucks because that was a good location with over 150,000 vehicles passing by each day. I decided against running my own dedicated internet line because I would have to pay for a commercial account since the building is commercial.

Moved it home and it was performing okay from what I thought, then on the 17th I got an influx of subscribers. I'm only seeing Carrier1 and Carrier4 in my dashboard.

needs attention

Just plugged in my rack MNTD miner a few days ago. I've been offline for about 8 months. Now my status says needs attention. Any help from some mining gurus on how to get active again? Thank you in advance :)

Emrit

Anyone have a contact? I have 3 of their miners and can’t get in touch with anyone to return. Or if anyone knows what I can do with them.

App questions

Haven't used this in about a year. Not sure if my hot spot stopped working or not. I tried reconnecting it to the Helium android app and that didn't work. Last time I used it was around the time the app split. One app was connected to the device and the other the wallet. I thought I connected them but it looks like like I might not have. When I open the Helium wallet app and enter my phrase will it be the one that was generated when I setup the Hotspot?

Bobcat Miner 300 Not Mining Since April – Moved to New Location Today

Hi everyone,

I’m having issues with my Bobcat Miner 300, which hasn’t been mining since April 2024. The device is online, but it’s just not earning anything. Today, I moved it to a new location, hoping that might resolve the issue, but there’s a good chance it won’t help.

I’m wondering if there’s something else I need to check or do to get it working again. Specifically:

  1. How can I check if the firmware is up-to-date?
  2. Is there any support availiable by mail or so, looks like their website is offline
  3. Could the relocation help, or is there another issue I should investigate?

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help!

Anybody else having issues swapping HNT for SOL? I was able to swap my IOT for SOL, but the last few days (tried 3 times), every time I try and swap HNT for SOL, it tries for about 5 min and then get this error.

Bobcat / Linxdot Miner

I've been out of the Helium mining for some years now, where I moved to for work just didn't workout with the miners connection.

Anyways, I have a bobcat miner and a Linxdot and Ive relocated back to where helium mining performs well. Will they still mine efficiently or should I not even waste my time?

My LongAp hotspot gets always this error and is offline

I can not connect with my hotspot because of this error: "Error Characteristic df3b16ca-c985-4da2-a6d2-9b9b9abdb858 write failed for device AC.7B.A1.3D.3D.5C and service" I can not connect with app or anything else, what can I do? It is offline from very long time because I couldn't resolve the problem and I couldn't get where it is very often.

HIP 138: Voting is Now Open – Return to HNT Rewards

HIP 138 is a proposal to simplify the Helium token system by returning to rewarding participants directly in HNT, creating a unified ecosystem.

Highlights:

  • Increased rewards for IOT and MOBILE participants.
  • IOT and MOBILE token treasuries will remain. Token holders can exchange them for HNT via the Helium Wallet or other dApps like Jupiter.
  • Additional HNT from HST will go towards network builders.
  • No changes to the existing governance model of subnetworks.

This proposal aims to simplify and align incentives, to strengthen the Helium community. All three tokens must vote! (HNT, IOT, and MOBILE)

📖 Details: Check the HIP 138 FAQ blog or join the discussion on Helium Discord. #HIP-138 channel. https://blog.helium.com/hip-138-tl-dr-hnt-is-back-return-to-simplicity-994a32639dda

Voting involves:

  • veHNT vote on redirecting HNT emissions.
  • veIOT and veMOBILE votes on ceasing IOT and MOBILE token emissions. (subject to veHNT approval).

How does the hotspot work?

I recently switched to helium mobile but im trying to figure out what exactly the hotspot does?
I live in a heavily populated downtown area, would it be profitable to have the hotspot open for people to use?

How does this actually work? It just want me to pay 20 dollars?

Heard they can payoff my s24+, which i owe 687 on. But it's just telling me pay 20 dollars to start service, not explaining that they can pay this off, I've just heard that from reddit. Is it true? Or is this just a scam

How to transfer HNT Tokens

What is the easiest way to s-e-l-l HNT? What platform do you guys usually transfer your HNT to? Since you can’t do it on the helium wallet

So we're back to HNT mining again next year. Will it work like it worked before the switch to IOT?

Sorry, i'm quite a noob. Will we get "big" money with beacons and a small amout for a witness?

Or will it work different this time?

When do the 5G miners get released in EU? and is it worth mining?

I started mining HNT in 2021 and was fortunate enough to 4x my investment. However, the past 2 years I have seen massive declines in the mining rate and stagnation in the value of the token. I am UK based and was wondering if it is worth keeping my setup until the 5G miners get released. Are they worth it? Also, can i run a IOT and MOBILE hotspot off the same antenna?

Does anyone know the details of how the proposed swap would occur? Would it be a fixed predetermined amount of mobile to hnt?
