Alternate Start dates?
I played Iberia a while ago it was quite good.
I know its a bit rough around the edges in certain things, yet its the only serious contender to Total War other than Knights of Honor...
How is this game not more successful?
I played this game and its awesome, it has very interesting mechanics, its fun, super well done, lots of detail everywhere.
its crazy the amount of work put into this.
Im a gamedev and im aware this is a master piece.
Every total war player needs to buy this game. And every Paradox games player would also like the experience.
This game is the only actual squad based RTS that works properly.
Oh well, there is Cossacks that is also squad based RTS.
And this also has supply lines. Again i dont understand why this game is not as famous as it should be.
Is there any way to auto capture rout enemy. Because it takes so much time to manually do it. I have to attack enemy with my troop then wait there, can't do other thing. Right after i see the pop up said that enemy rout, i have to pause the game, click on my troop, choose capture. Continue wait there, can't do other things until my troop captured enemy. Then now i can get my troop to other place and do other things. it's too petty, ineffective, too time consuming, too many pauses. Is there any way for me to order the army to attack the enemy and surround them and capture them? After that, can I safely go do something else and come back later?
Hello everyone, currently playing through my first campaign of Hegemony Gold. I’m playing through the Macedonian campaign and ran into an objective I’m not sure how to complete. I captured the city of Amantini which is located in the northwest corner of the map. Upon capturing the city I was given the objective “Move triremes in the Amantini region 0/6”. This confused me because Amantini is a landlocked region. The western part of it isn’t even accessible due to it being at the edge of the playable map. Has anyone completed this objective and can clue me in on what I should do? Thank you
Hello guys, I know there are some legendary modders here in this sub. I dont know if its easy to makd or not, but I had this idea:
When you zoom in, instead of 3d unit models, there would be the same amount of 2D symbols, for cavalry for infantry etc, like you see in those animations of King and Generals on youtube. Just like when a 3D unit dies another takes his place in the line, that could also be done with the 2D symbol.
For hoplites, you have a spear facing up and a shield symbol, and when they are in a shield wall, the spears would be facing on the side. To better see the formation.
That would make the armies feel larger and the scale bigger.
I understand that two battalions can be clipping as it currently is, so the spacing would be an issue, but I dont know much about modding.
Does this sound interesting to anyone?
hello everyone. i am still playing Hegemony Gold and i am annoyed that i cannot alliance boeotia due to too high hostility even after shredding them to a single town. so i tried to lower it with a console command but i keep getting an error that the target faction is not found. does anyone know the games name for the Aetolian League?
just if anyones wondering: the command is
setfactionrelations [-status <status>] [-cost <cost>][-hostility <hostility>][-intimidation<intimidation>][-relative][invertmatch]<PrimaryFactionName><SecondaryFactionName>
i try to do
setfactionrelations -hostility -10 Aetolian League Thebes
and keep getting the error "Unable to find any faction with the name Aetolian"
it has to be one word only or connected as the error ignores any second word. i already tried:
AetolianLeague
Aetolian_League
and as "Athens", "Persia" and "Thebes" (for Boeotian League) worked, i further tried:
Aetolians
Aetolia
and even Aetolias and several spelling errors of Aetolia...
So I bought a second hand copy of Hegemony Gold and installed, but when I launch it I get asked for a 25 digit serial code. The product key on the back of the manual is 28 digits. Naturally I've mailed Longbow about it but haven't heard back from them yet, any help would be greatly appreciated
Usually I always choose 150% xp from combat. And I have been very happy with it until these last few days playing with Peuceti Illyrians on extreme difficulty with AI cheats mod.
I tried spamming spearmen plus slingers, then skirmishers plus slingers. I have tried saving on military and just paying tribute to any faction that attacks me.
I have failed with all these approaches, so I would like to try with another General build.
What General build works for you and why?
Also have you tried playing as Peuceti, do you have any advice?
Has anyone played the Manor Lord demo?
Could you share if anything there reminded you of Hegemony?
Every time I issue an order to my hoplites, this happens, and I have to restart på PC
I’ve had a lot of fun with this game and the others in this series but I just wanted to give a shout-out to CW. It’s really given the game new enjoyability for me.
Hello, I wanted to know if it is possible to play Classical World 9.7 without Steam, because I got Hegemony III through GOG games?
Also, when I try to start Classical World 8, I get an error message that Hegemony Rome is not found for some reason. I have them in the same folder:
I'm playing as Rome and I'm about 3 hours in and I don't think I've actually had about a minute of peace. Every time I make peace with one power and try to build myself up, another enemy that I haven't even been in contact with suddenly declares war.
Am I correct to understand that you need to pick an upgrade for a unit, and keep upgrading that "Upgrade/officer" and then at a certain level it turns into a new general?
Or how does it work? The wiki confused me.
So I've been playing my roman campaign for about 680 min. Played the sicily campaign through.
So I'm by no means a pro...
But sometimes I have 200+ gold income and then it drops all of a sudden -300
What gives? Don't feel the overviews ingame are very detailed, so I have no idea where the money is disappearing too..
This is the second time i've had large slave units just be defeated out of the blue? i just conquered them and they were marching towards my base when all of a sudden they are defeated. ?
anyone know why dis happens?
im the Red units so its not enemies nearby.
thanks in advance.
Hello, I’m not sure where else to go as I’m not sure if the develops are MIA but I have Philip of Macedon and I know I bought the upgrade back in 2012( I still have the email) but it seems I can’t download it from the website anymore. I never received a email with a steam code, I tried emailing the Longhelp but does anyone even know if that’s active? Or am I just outta luck?
Hi everyone, I have been a fan of this game since the first hegemony game. I still believe there is huge wasted, as it seems, potential here. One thing which could bring this game to another level is multiplayer/coop, it doesent seem too difficult to make, but I am not a programer so... Does anyone know of such a mod or project?
I would invest in something like that, if enough of us get together, we could maybe find someone to make the mod.
Anyone finds this a good idea?
