CAH Gave you a square foot of land? Have you planted your flag?
Let's not all go there at once, we might capsize the island!

So I'm working at a summer camp in Maine and after a few weeks in I remembered the CAH holiday bullshit I bought into and that I own part of Hawaii2. It just happens to only be an hour away. Today is my day off and I'm going to visit my little slice of heaven! I'll post pics when I return.
Is this thing in Maine for real, or what? Seems like troll, that's why...
After the initial activity is the island now basically left alone? (Like this sub) I stumbled across this all when it happened and was only reintroduced by the new dig a hole CAH thing.
Difference between /r/hawaii2 and /r/hawaii?
Hello!
I'm vacationing with a few friends in Maine this month and thought about stopping by Hawaii 2. I did notice some folks mentioned that the safe is gone. Any idea as to its whereabouts? Curious if we could still get the cards from inside.
I'm curious about visiting my ancestral home, and wonder about the music scene.
Here's my framed map, license and cards from last year's holiday bull$#it promo. Got it hanging in my basement workshop, so it didn't need to be all properly matted and whatnot....Hawaii 2 map. Please enjoy!
Ok, so I'm headed up to see my plot this weekend. I know I've missed out on the sloth cards, and that the safe and shed are now gone. But, I'm still excited.
I plan to visit my plot... And the plots of a few others. How many people have planted flags or anything?
I've messaged the gentleman who was looking to do tours of the island, but no reply yet, so my current plan is to go to the park and rent a boat/canoe/kayak/whatever and paddle over to the island.
Any suggestions beyond this?
Thanks!
I plan to go up and visit my 1X1 this month, but am not sure what the official rules are for camping on the island. Our "Proof of Rights" seems to approve it as a "passive, non-commercial, non-motorized receational activity", but the official site has island hours listed as 6am-8pm. Does anyone have any clarification?
If it is restricted, can anyone recommend an equally isolated patch of land nearby? Ideally not within a National Park, as they tend to be very strictly against alcohol.
I'm planning a trip up to Hawaii 2 from Boston with a few friends this weekend. Has anyone who visited rented from the park before? Was the process easy/any tips I should know in advance?
So I'm heading up to Maine for a vacation next week and was thinking I might want to visit my plot. How do we get there? Will I be able to make it as two adults, two children, and one infant?
Does anyone know how to get to Hawaii 2? Can you rent a boat? Are there alternatives to renting a boat? We're thinking about checking it out tomorrow and we don't know what our options are.
Hey everyone, I was on the island yesterday and found that the safe and shed are gone. All that was left was a line of rocks, a water filled tub of peanut butter and some pieces of TP where visitors chose to relieve themselves.
While everyone's island, I would ask politely that anyone who visits, please carry in, out, and bury your relief if you HAVE to go :)
The Hawaii2 website is pretty bare and not really helpful to those seeking real information about the island. I know it's awhile after Holiday Bullshit, and most people have lost interest, but I would like to at least be able to have a hub of information beyond this subreddit. (This also depends on whether the website creator is even around anymore or not.) But.. what are other things to add to a Hawaii 2 website beyond just the plot map?
Here's some of my ideas:

decided I'd frame this sucker and throw it on the wall with my deed/license in the frame. SO thought I was nuts, thinks this is all stupid but I'm thinking 50 years out to the goonies rooting through my attic and finding this thing.
I'm planning on waiting till after spring thaw to throw my canoe on the car and drive up from MA for a few days of low impact camping. I'm sure I'll see some of you there!
Walked to the island today. Ice is about 5" so safe to walk on. We did notice a lighter in the shed so put that and the shed instructions in the safe to prevent stupidity. Anyone coming up should be fine walking over there unless we get a long warm spell or until spring.
I think I am in the right place. I understand that Cards against Humanity bought Mill Island and named it Hawaii 2. They also dropped a safe out there that people want to get to. Ok...sounds good.
I see a need for transport. Will be starting in Mid-June, I will be available for hire if anyone needs transport. I keep a well maintained motorboat and can get you there in about 5min RT. The cost I am thinking is about $20 per couple, kids free. I will be a Maine licensed rec/fishing guide and commercial boat operator.
A group of us are considering a trip up to the island tomorrow but it doesn't seem like the lake is frozen over yet. Anyone with a boat planning on being there tomorrow or know of a rental place nearby??
Cross posting from HB:
I was thinking about the logistics of many visitors out to Hawaii 2 and determined that we should build a composting toilet on the island. I have requested a quote from the company that does these for the Appalachian Mountain Club. Low maintenance, no chemicals, and super clean. Unless this island is going to go completely Leave No Trace, I think it would be great to deal with the poo issue sooner than later.
I have no affiliation to the company in the video, could be a DIY option as well. I am planning an early January trip out to the island, and could scout some possible locations.
Would folks be willing to spread the word about a crowdfunding campaign once we get estimates etc? Is this the best place to put this post?
This is absolutely awesome, however, I am in the PNW and probably won't be able to visit it any time soon. I hope people who are able to go can post pictures for those of us who can't visit.
Thanks for starting this reddit site.
Currently I have hawaii2ans as what we are called, but I am open to suggestions.
I thought this comment by /u/ansleytime is a good idea. Decided I would start a discussion thread.
A few ideas off the top of my head to kick it off:
We could do them through represent.com, much like the dogecrew shirts, and raise money for any sort of developments we could want (that would be allowed of course) e.g. a bitching sign, amazeball picnic tables, kickass grills, or classy fire pits.
I was also thinking polo shirts with the crest embroidered on them, like an exclusive country club.
Hawaii 2 sports team jersey's with our names on the back.
What does everyone think?
