HAPPY! is an adaptation of New York Time's best-selling graphic novel by Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson. The series follows Nick Sax (Christopher Meloni, Law & Order: SVU) – an intoxicated, corrupt ex-cop turned hit man – who's adrift in a world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. After a hit gone wrong, his inebriated life is forever changed by a tiny, relentlessly positive, imaginary blue winged horse named Happy (Patton Oswalt).

I finished rewatching season 1 & 2 yesterday and the setup they did for season 3 could’ve seen it as the biggest, boldest, and dirtiest of the entire show! a half-demonic Sax set at Halloween as his wife and daughter fight to escape prison? It would’ve been wild! I wish we could know or see how those plans would have worked out. What do you think season 3 would’ve done? What would you wanted to have seen?
Just started/finished first season today, great show specially happy is very innocent and cute many emotional scenes plus there is non stop action by anti hero, actor was great choice for that role, clearly one of best shows i ever see never got bored for a second.
So after finishing S2 I decided I wanted to go back to where it all began. Binged 4 episodes whilst drinking eggnog mixed with pumpkin spice cream liqueur.
Honestly just hearing Meloni's growly voice is perfect for any buzz. But it was especially fun seeing all the plot beats they laid out in just the pilot ep. Knowing where everything ends up, just how important Sonny Shine really is, all the wishies imagery, etc.
Its like rewatching The Sixth Sense once you know The Big Twist and can now catch all the clues. That kinda thing.
Plus it's Xmas themed. Perfect timing. I don't celebrate the holiday anymore but I get the vibe.
I watched S1 years back but not S2, for some reason. I was at my bestie's for Thanksgiving, he scrolled thru Netflix, and we got to this show.
Watched two eps at his place, then I went home, got Netflix's 4k plan, and binged the rest of the series.
Now here I am. Having just finished it, stuck with that terrible "there won't be any more, and there's nothing else like this" type of feeling.
There was so much wacky insanity going on and nothing really made sense but the way the dramatic beats of this show hit that much harder.
Meloni deserves all the awards here, he masterfully carried this show with impressive ease. 7 years back I binged all of SVU up to that point, so it's all too easy to imagine that character becoming Nick. Idek if I could see him as the clean cut Stabler anymore. I just want more of him as Nick.
I loved Nick & Smoothie. They had such bizarre sexual chemistry and tension together. It was like "are they about to kiss until they bleed or stab each other? Or both?" the song Kiss with a Fist applies to them so well.
Even Happy had some depth added to him in ways I didn't expect. I certainly wasn't expecting the Bo Peep storyline, nor Jeff Goldblum showing up as God. That was fun. And the way his powers kept expanding. This being of pure innocence having magical orgy abilities. It so fit somehow.
I loved the weird casting of Big Show as Blue's cellmate. He could actually act. I couldn't tell if he'd assaulted Blue or if they were like bros. It was fun how they left it all vague.
I was sooo curious to see what would happen next during Halloween season. Honestly expected Nick to start carrying Smoothie's decapitated head around on his belt ala Lollipop Chainsaw. It wouldn't be the worst thing this show has done.
And Hailey's storyline... Going from innocent child & victim to ready to murder assassin. That was deep and the actress was actually, scarily, good in all her scenes. I loved her dancing with Smoothie. It was like her last bit of happiness before everything got extra fucked up.
Gah I'm rambling but I just have so many feelings over this show and nowhere for them to go.
There's a scene in Season 2, can't remember which episode. It's when Sonny is ont his compound jump roping and he has headphones on. It sounds like som sort of techno 'uplifting' workout, type of song. I currently do not have Netflix and have no way of Shazaming. Anybody have an idea?
Im still confused about this. Is it Alzheimers or Dementia? And what happened at that one scene? Did she run out of meds?
Ever since about halfway through the first season, I thought the original music in Happy was awesome. I've wanted to find it so I could listen to it, but I have had no luck. I've tried looking again, even looking in the credits to find who made it, but looking up the composers (Blair Mowat and Guillaume Roussel) and looking through their music still gets me nowhere. Any help finding the original scores would be greatly appreciated!
S1 ep2 Halie’s mom told Meredith she owed her (then punched her). ive seen season 1 years ago but don’t remember it ever saying why. do they say why?
Why the fuck isn’t there a season 3
I finished the show and it left me wanting more I fell in love with is. Sax is such a likeable character but I wanted to ask does the novel show more of what happens after season 2 I’m aware as of right now there’s no announcement for season 3 hopefully maybe Netflix picks it up it’s so good
But does the novel show more beyond that of season 2 ?
ignore my reflection
Good community here. What a great show that was. Surprised they didn’t renew this show, yet some of the other shows that I see receive a renewal don’t deserve one. One of the best shows I’ve seen in a while.
Season 3 taking place during Halloween season would have likely made it even better. A shame that this show was just discarded and forgotten about.
Anyone think there’s any possibility of this show returning?
I was messaged recently by a very friendly Anthony letting me know my drawing was posted here by someone who isn’t me lol. I hope you guys enjoy. I should give season 1 another watch, speaking of.
Think about; L&O: Organized Crime and Residnet Alien MIGHT not be renewed, Chucky season 3 might be its last, this marks a GREAT opportunity for us to fight to save Happy! again and convince Universal to give it another chance for Syfy or even Peacock.
Opportunity is knocking people, are we to sit here, do nothing and accept things for what they are or we finally going to do something, make a difference, and finally #SaveHappy for season 3?
Remember; there's ALWAYS hope. I'm all in, are you?
Need recommendations to fill the void after rinsing the series twice. I am in the UK and only have Netflix and Prime so please only options for those!
