Looking for a new hobby to take up my time.

Hello all,

I have become so tired of my current daily routine that I strongly want to funnel my time and efforts into something new. Currently, I spend all day at work on the computer, and then when I'm home I study and also spend leisure time on the computer as well. I'm so tired of it.

I want to channel my energy into something I can do with my hands away from screens and make something cool and hopefully even get good at it.

I would love suggestions on things to try. Unfortunately, I don't have many ideas and not sure what kinds of things are out there.

Some things I'm looking for (which may be too strict, but I am open minded):

  • Something that requires a degree of finesse/skill to build up to get good at
  • something with progression as you get better you can make more complicated things
  • something that doesnt have a huge start up cost
  • something that doesnt require machinery/objects that would not work in a small apartment
  • something that isn't purely repetitive (cross-stitching for example)
  • something that allows creativity without necessarily being the "best artist"

Some ideas I was interested in from seeing videos were fancy jewelry making (but requires a lot of equipment and space), making items out of leather (coin purses, wallets, etc).

I am very open minded though so I would appreciate any suggestions!
