I walk into class, he’s already at his desk, he turns to me and he says “Mr. indwrist2, are you a hassidic Jew?”

I, of course, answer that no, I’m indeed not a hassidic Jew.

“Then take your hat off, sir”. 

That was spring of 2007. The last semester he taught. Our final exam was at 2pm on a Friday. It was the last exam ever administered by Professor Brinkley.

The website is complete garbage. Where are people buying their HSC stuff? I appear to have lost my copy of On this Hill in a move and just wanted to buy a new copy.

I work at Westview on the James, an outdoor/adventure/Christian summer camp in Goochland, Virginia. We are preparing for a busy camp season, with almost 800 campers signed up already!!!

We are currently looking for Adventure Camp Counselors, Waterfront Specialist, Nature Specialist, Craft Specialist, Program Specialist, and Senior Counselors.

I graduated 20+ years ago and I'm still dealing with the PTSD. The casual racism, misogyny, homophobia, xenophobia, anti-intellectualism. The hypocrisy of the Honor Court. The out of control drug and alcohol use . . . but of course what else are you going to do on a Wednesday night and there are zero women to talk to. 

Why didn't I transfer? I’d been taught to finish what I started. Have no problem telling kids now, if you don’t like something, quit. 

So, does anyone else regret HSC as deeply as I do?
