Hello friends,
I've had my hackrf one portapack h2+ for about a week now and absolutely love it.
The only thing I haven't been able to get working is picking up ERT meters. Does anyone have some advice to point me in the right direction?
I have tried the search option looking at frequencies between 900-925 and plugging the ones that come up in the ERT app. But still nothing.
Is there a place to buy a portapack hm2 for around the same price range that ali sells them for. I'm pretty sure customs seized mine.
Hey Folks!
I was messing around in the Audio app on the HackRF Portapack with Mayhem and noticed one of the preset frequencies is actually a HAM radio frequency range—not just a single frequency. I figured out you can set up similar frequency ranges in the Freq Manager app too.
But here’s where I’m a bit stuck... how do these ranges actually work in the Audio app? When I select one, the frequency doesn’t seem to scan or change automatically like I’d expect from a scanner. Is that just how it’s supposed to work, or am I missing something?
Appreciate any tips!
Can anyone hack the samsara gps tracker app?
Much cleaner this time (although obviously still pretty hacked together). Cut out sections and burned the edges to melt down the fibres. Has space for multiple antennas.
Also has some clear flexible plastic to cover the screen as well as a cutout on the bottom to allow for USB connection.
Multiple velcro patches added to allow secure closing and also to hold the flaps flush to the back when it's open.
The pouch was about £12.
Actually pretty happy with this one and will use it :)
I saw on a video by Talking Sasquatch that the optimal Rx Saturation % is around 80, where he mentioned it's common practice. However, I can't actually find anywhere to back this up. By clicking the DFU button twice you can view the current saturation level
Can anyone confirm if this is indeed the optimal saturation level or if this is an upper bound that should be aimed of
Not sure if i'm doing something wrong. I was experimenting with pocsag and found a very active channel. However, I noticed that the signal FAR stronger with way less errors when I power the device via USB connection instead of the built in battery.
I'm assuming this is something to do with the IC circuit introducing some kind of interference but I'm not really sure how to be sure. Has anyone else encountered anything like this?
I just bought a Chinese version of the device and I'm not very familiar with the details. Excuse me on advance if what I ask is very basic. What I want to do is for this device to scan for a period of time and be able to index in a file or some other way all the frequencies that are being broadcasted and can reach my room. To clarify, I want the device to be active and scanning, and indexing any radio signal that enters the room I am at for, let's say, 30-60 minutes, and keep in a file or in it's memory all those frequencies as to be able to recognize a specific frequency that was active the past 30-60 minutes. The main menu is a bit confusing as how to do this specific type of scan. Also I'm not sure if I should use the HackRF function and connect the device with a pc. For that function I'm not sure which software will allow me to do the specific type of scanning and indexing I wanna do. Please help a noobie.
I was wondering if anyone knew whether there will be a Black Friday deal for the HackRF ?
Anyone buy their HackRF from AliExpress? Looks like they might be selling it for half the price. Too good to be true?
I was installing my HackRF into a new Portpack H4M and broke two of the flimsy plastic screws it comes with. Anyone know the size of the standoffs and the case screws off hand? I'd like to replace them with brass hardware.

In case anyone is in need, screen protectors for H4m. Sorry if this post is not allowed!
Is it possible to upgrade to H4M case using the bits from my H2?
been trying for a few days with the noaas being fairly far away. but just 10 mins before i posted this a noaa went right over me and i got it i did a small test to see if i could receive and this is my result
I am new to wireless radio and have recently bought a HackRF. I want to learn how to use HackRF to receive and transmit the radio signals. I have seen some basic radio technology videos on Internet. Can listen to my city radio FM by setting the Frequencies in the Universal Radio Hacker and Gqrx softwares. But i cannot transmit signals.
I want to learn how to transmit signals using my HackRF. I want to learn how the radio waves work and its technology.
Can anyone recommend some quick tutorials ? I am not looking for a whole book to read.
Hi, I would like to buy the hackrf one, but first I wanted to know all the frequency modulations it could receive? Like VHF, UHF etc... ?
Hello! I need to store an "example" spectrum reading (the whole 100MHz-6GHz) and then compare coming spectrum reading with the example one. My question is what is the best way to do that: via M4 core as it is faster or ui's M0 core as it has more storage? Or the ChibiOS, which i should read more about?
Thanks in advance!
Hey everyone,
I’ve been really interested in getting a HackRF lately, but I live in Israel, and I know there can be restrictions or complications when it comes to importing certain devices, especially ones related to radio frequencies. I was wondering if anyone here has successfully managed to get a HackRF delivered to Israel without running into any problems, like customs issues or legal concerns. If you have, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your experience, including where you ordered it from and any tips to avoid potential issues. Thanks in advance for your help!
Hello people! Made a python script to find WIFI channels by using my HackRF One. It works fine, however cannot distinguish between WIFI and drone. I tried to include hops and bandwidth filters however it still doesnt work... I am using DJI Mavic 2, and DJI Mini 2 for my experiments. Please help! Maybe there's any opensource projects like that?
Couldn't find any cases for the portapack of this type so I decided to have a crack at it myself (yes I'm fully aware this looks ugly as all hell, white thread was not the call).
I have never sewn anything before and I decided to basically tear apart this nylon bag and optimise it for my HackRF.
I sewed various velcro strips to it as I didn't want magnets interfering with anything.
This was mainly just a test, the nylon bag was really cheap so the next one will be much cleaner. I am actually pretty happy with it though. It has a belt clip on the back as well.
What I lack in actual talent or craftmanship I make up for in getting way too invested in pointless ventures like this :)
Hello everyone! I have 2 programs in GNU Radio for my bachelor degree, one for receiving and one for transmitting RF. First is a frequency scanner and the other program is a noise (in db) transmitter based on the frequency that I scanned. And I have a question. Considering that I have 2 hackRFs, one used for transmitting and one for receiving (connected on my laptop), is it possible to make a program where I can use both of them at once. For example I fly a cheap drone (20$) over the antenna, it detects the frequency, and based on this, it automatically modifies the frequency on my transmitting program to send the noise exactly on the frequency scanned. For now I can do it only manually. First I scan the frequency and then I modifiy it in my transmitter program. Is there any possibility to do it automatically?
