The GQuuuuuux has thrust vectoring engine nozzles like on an F-22A, which gives it exceptional manuverability at the expense of the inability to stand, so they gave it hoofs that are connected to the side of the calves and act as true legs. The "calves" are stylized in the traditional Gundam way with white bodies and red sleeves, essentially making them false legs that connects the MS back to the roots of a Gundam.
This is so goddamn cool and genuinely clever mech design
So- I've been searching a while and I'm at a bit of a loss and thought this may be the forum to look for help in- Recently my dad was describing a gundam he used to own and laments losing. What he was able to describe was -it was mustard yellow and black -it turned into either a truck or a tank -the model itself was made of metal, not plastic This all would have been in Japan in the 80s. If anyone has any idea about which model this is I'd be extremely grateful for the help! It may be a gunpla but he said it was gundam so I'll try here first.
It’s rough but I’m happy enough to move on to other projects.
Just saw this photo on GundamInfo's YouTube community. These are my top 3 favourite 1st episode : Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing and Gundam Build Divers Re:Rise (not in any particular order). What are yours?
Should this be tagged?
The 6 u's are confusing but it's just "Qux" stylized.
Consider the Japanese name ジークアクス: ジー → "Gee" (G) クアクス→ "kuakusu" (Qux, kwuks, so Q as in Quarry. By using ア instead of ワ the /a/ sound is actually diminished into a /^/)
If it was "quack" it would've been クワックス. クワック(ス) is an established word in the Japanese vocabulary that is also seen used in for example Metal Gear Solid 3
