About

Guilty Crown (ギルティクラウン Giruti Kuraun) is a 2011 Japanese anime television series produced by Production I.G which aired on Fuji TV's noitamina program block from October 13, 2011. Two manga adaptations were published by ASCII Media Works and Square Enix and light novel was published by Nitroplus titled Guilty Crown: Princess of Deadpool in April 2012.

Plot

Shu's entire world was shattered after a meteorite crashed into Japan, unleashing the lethal Apocalypse Virus. The chaos and anarchy born of the outbreak cost Shu his family and reduced him to a timid, fearful shell of the boy he'd once been. His life took another unexpected turn after a chance encounter with the stunning pop star, Inori. This mysterious beauty introduced Shu to the King's Right Hand: a genetic mutation that allows him to reach into hearts of mortals and turn them into weapons. Shu finds himself caught in the crossfire between those who desperately seek his newfound strength. On one side lurks a clandestine government agency, and on the other, Inori and the spirited band of rebels known as Funeral Parlour. The choice is Shu's to make - and the world is his to change.

Would the ending have been better if Shu died with Inori?

I don't know why, but every time I rewatch this anime, I can't help but think things would have wrapped up a bit nicer if Shu and Inori died together. It doesn't really make sense how they got him out of the building after it collapsed, and seeing adult Shu in that state kind of just left me unsatisfied.

The guy saved the world end ended up blind and lost the two people who probably loved him most. I mean I guess we did get that nice ending scene with him and Inori's spirit on the bench. But, any thoughts on how the ending could have been better aside from both Shu and Inori living?

Similarities between Shuu Ouma and Harry Potter [SPOILERS]

Somebody else on r/anime asked about this and got an answer I found unsatisfactory, so I wanted to just address my own concern. Shuu Ouma and Harry Potter are actually quite similar in that both of them can be considered “boys who lived,” and in that both their family histories are what caused them to get involved in their conflicts (in other words, due to family history, both were destined to fight to the death). Shuu Ouma survived the Lost Christmas, but was one of the only two to actually witness what caused it, kinda like how Harry Potter was one of the only ones to witness what happened with the Voldemort attack when he was a baby. Both of them could not remember/see what happened until they came of age. As for the other more important similarity, Shuu’s family found a new disease and initially tried to control it, however, one of the antagonists in the series found out about this and got angry. The antagonist’s goal was very much similar to Voldemort’s goal, thus he wanted to take away the control so that he could a build a new world himself/destroy the current world (to my understanding). Likewise, Harry Potter’s parents were battling Voldemort and Voldemort’s forces throughout their youth, so in order to maintain power and control to have what he wants, Voldemort decided he wanted to kill Harry, but he couldn’t kill Harry, and ended up leaving a part of himself inside Harry. Voldemort then tries multiple times to come back alive, does so successfully eventually and basically tries to do what the antagonist I refer to in Guilty Crown is essentially trying to do, except Voldemort wasn’t just seeking the destruction of the world (Voldemort wanted so much genocide that it wouldn’t be wrong to say that he wanted to destroy the world). And finally, in their final episodes, both Harry and Shuu sacrifice their lives, even though Harry comes back alive in the end. I don’t know yet for Shuu.

Just a rant for episode 17

I hope there’s a fanfic in which all the rebelling students get tortured into their deaths by a blank slate character that the reader can insert themselves into. I don’t give an f if they were well-meaning, I don’t give an f they were angry at Shuu. In my eyes, they all deserve nothing but torture and death. OK, now that I’ve got that off my chest, let’s continue watching!

Edit: Welp, I guess Gai gave me instant gratification xD. Was happily waving goodbye to those scumbags. (I’m actually kinda happy that Arisa and Souta were spared however.)

I wish Shuu would just kill off Yahiro

With every passing moment in recent episodes (I’m at episode 16), Yahiro is just getting more and more irritating with his absolutely inhumane suggestions and him driving Shuu to be an even worse king by lying and coming up with idiotic ideas that just won’t work because it destroys the morale of the group. I quite frankly would love to see Shuu take out Yahiro’s void and let Yahiro watch as he slowly tortures Yahiro to death. (Yes, I know that this seems hypocritical since I just accused Yahiro of being inhumane himself, but I’m talking about what would bring me satisfaction right now and none of these characters are real in our world lol.) Anyways, I hope Shuu doesn’t disappoint and I hope Yahiro rots in hell.

How to free Inori from Guilty Crown VRChat world

I came across this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/GuiltyCrown/comments/r5v68h/i_need_a_password_vr_chat/

and used the pw V01D, which worked. Now I have the void and I've gone to the shield ball that Inori is in. How do I free her?

Also, is there an avatar I can unlock of her for VRChat?

Many thanks in advance.

What is your favorite episode

For me personally it is the seventh episode. Especially when gai try to convince kuhoin family to help them with the resistance. And the whole gai- arisa moment is worth watching. And the best moment is when shu use arisu shield to protect the cruise from the missile from Dan. It sync with the music so good.

The second is the seventeenth episode exodus, when the classmate discontent reached its peak, and shu dictatorship being overbearing. We can see the usurp start taking place, when arisa bribe nanba sex for information. And after the exodus, shu got betrayed again, this time by the entire school. And gai revival take ohma arm is the cherry on the top

Help looking for a deleted Guilty Crown AMV!

Hello! There’s a certain Guilty Crown AMV that I absolutely loved watching/listening to over the past couple of years that recently got removed from YouTube(and was most likely falsely claimed, might I add.) Seeing as it was a rather popular AMV, I figured I’d ask if anyone here has a link to another place that might be hosting the AMV, is hosting the AMV, or if they have the AMV downloaded themselves.

The AMV was titled: “[Guilty Crown OST] Euterpe - Romaji + Eng Lyrics | 【Original】” and it was on the channel of the creator “Beautiful Anime”. I appreciate any and all help in refinding this masterpiece!

i have finished watching guilty crown

i watched the first half the arc where gai first death, and when shu become the dictator. It was perfect. Especially, when shu use arisu shield for the first time, to protect from the military missle, it perfectly sync with the music.

And I have several question?

WHy is shu hated by the school after he become a school leader?

Because he force other student against their will to do the role that he assigned, The higher the system rank, the more people is being well-treated and doing less risky task, and the lower one is being ill- treated and force to do the more risky task that could cause them cancer.

He imprison anyone that oppose his idealogy

He try to hide crucial information about the void

Last, but not least, he forbid anyone to talk about him in a negative manner.

Why gai become an asshole after his revive

Is this just an act to push his friends and allies away or is it genuine?

Did gai pretend to be antagonist so shu could just kill him properly, and seal mana for good? Or he is really that way

Chances of guilty crown season 2

If you pay attention, there is still chance for guilty crown 2 to come because 1st episode of this was released on 13 October 2011 and it took 6 month for i.g to end it, it ended of 22 March 2012 and then 5 years later in 2017, the rummors of this anime had also announced its season 2, but even after 5 years have passed since that announcement even tell 2023, the fans still want guilty crown guilty crown season 2 to come, from its beginning to its ending. And if we look at the scenes between the ending and an announcement of its season 2 in 2017 and the demand for its season 2 by 2023, then there is still a chance for its season 2 to come.

Whom Shu really loves Inori or Hare?

It's been awhile since I last watched Guilty crown 2012 or 2013? I can't remember. I never rewarched eversince. But I came across with My Dearest once more and reminisced those school days when I am trying to catch up with Guilty Crown episode. I remember watching that in DailyMotion 🤣🤫🫢

But anyways, it's been a question that has been on my mind eversince. But I wasn't active in forums before. Whom Shu truly, really, actually loves? Inori or Hare?

Yeah, I KNOW what happened. But at that time, I thought Shu only felt sorry for Hare (you know she having unrequited love for him even trying to save him but he never pays back that feeling), so yeah I thought he only felt sorry for not being able to love her the way she is to him. And even falling in love with Inori in the process but now, as I play My Dearest it made me think. Could it be Shu really loved Hare but kind of push that thought aside out of respect for their friendship and was just attracted to Inori because he was a fan? Until he can't shook her off anymore? (If you watched the ending, you know what I mean 😉).
