DW-9052 EL backlight not working.
Hi. My newly purchased DW-9052's backlight doesn't work. Every time I push the G button, there is a small bluish green light at the side but the LCD panel itself is not being illuminated. I tried changing the batteries and it doesn't help. What do you think is the problem? Is the EL light already busted? BTW, the display doesn't dim out when I press the light button and all other functions seem to be working (oh, I forgot the beeps, it doesn't work too).
I bought this G-Shock from an online store which ships from Japan. So far, I bought three models with them, 5600, 5750, and 9052, and out of all three, the 9052 is the odd one out. I double checked and they are positively genuine.
I tried contacting them and they just told me to replace the batteries. After a few days, their shop is now delisted from the site.
I contemplated on replacing the module itself, but all I see online are secondhand modules (and of course, I want my module to be brand new).
Should I still fix this or should I just live with this. What about you guys, do you have G-Shocks with busted EL backlights?

Joined the Club :D
Joined the Club and switched the Bezel to the "Gucci". As the green was too dark i modded it to match the more light green colour.
AR-Sapphire and Minute Markers are on the way :)

gw-m5610u keeps resetting to 1/1 1:00
Context: my watch keeps randomly resetting to 1:00 Jan 1st. I’ve had it for a year. Battery power says “H” for High and it still resets.

Mudman 9010 Buttons
Howdy Yall,
I purchased a Mudman 9010 from an estate sale months back. I finally got around to letting it out in the sun and it now turns on, however, it seems the buttons don’t work. I press as hard as I can and they don’t do anything.
Am I missing something here or did I buy a lemon?

The day of the jackal watches
In the TV series The day of the jackal s01ep08 at the end of the flashback which takes place in 2013 one of the soldiers wears a Casioak which was released in 2019. I blame this community for pausing the movies to look at their watches haha The series while not flawless is awesome btw. I recommend to anyone looking for good action

is my DW-6900 broken?
So a few months ago I got a used dw-6900, and its been working great, however recently I noticed that whenever I use the backlight, It turns on, but the numbers and the glow seems to fade to black before jumping back to normal. Does anyone know whats wrong with it?

hello, I really want to buy a gshock that will last forever, i like the GW-M5610U-1 (the style and the feature it offer), but my brother has it and I don't want to buy his same watch.
I've considered
the GW-M5610U-1B, but i've read that negative display aren't the best.
GX-56BB-1 maybe too big? Idk ( i have 7 inch wrist)
GW-5000U-1ER it's similar to the GW-M5610U-1, but i've they say it's heavier and is it worth the difference in price?
I don't consider the dw-5600U because it's 90€ and doesn't have multiband and solar charging
What do you suggest?

Question about switching bracelet/strap
Hi all...
I recently bought the GW-M5610UBC-1JF. I like the watch. The negative display is good but it's not very practical. The combi bracelet though is excellent!
Considering the less-than-stellar performance of the negative display, I was/am considering the GMW-B5000GD-1JF, which apparently has a STN negative display, which is much better than the one on the GW-M5610. It also has an "updated" combi bracelet. One additional attraction to the all-steel body is the possibility of getting the IP (ion plating) treatment version (which makes it looked aged).
OTOH, when I have queried folks here, the GW-5000U has been recommended as a classic. The strap is apparently different from other stock straps and is much better.
I was wondering if I could buy the 5000U and replace the straps with the bracelet from the M5610? If yes, is there an guide or something like an instructional video for it? I would hate to ruin the watches.

How to change to DD/MM
Hi everyone. I just got the King G-Shock yesterday and despite searching a lot have been unable to change the date format from MM/DD to DD/MM. I know it aint a big deal but it's a bit helpful in saving me a couple of seconds every time I look at it. Does anyone know how to change it? Thanks in advance!
