I have a 29 bike with a 35c, I was thinking about swapping it for a 26 with a like 50c to get some extra thickness, do you think it's possible? I mean if you swap a thin 29 for a thicker 26 that their overall diameter is around the same there would be no problem, right? Ps Yhea I'm not a pro about this matter
Yes
Hey there! 30M looking to make friends in Southern Utah to go on 40/50/60 mile rides with!
Any gender/race/identity welcome!
For someone living in a city (Minneapolis-St Paul in MN specifically) who will be primarily riding road during the weekdays and gravel/mountain biking on the weekends is something like a Checkpoint, Diverge, or Grail worth it vs a Domane, Defy, or Endurace? Is a Grail or Revolt even that different from a Endurace or Defy with similar tires?
I should add I have a mountain bike I’ll be doing proper trail rides on so not really wanting to push a gravel bike into that realm.
I’ve read a lot of posts on this, but would love to hear folks own experience and what led them to choose one vs the other.
I see both bikes in almost at a similar price point at this moment. But I'm having trouble identifying what upgrades on the 2024 model would really be worth it over the newer model. I know the newer model has internal cable routing and storage in the tube (which I like). But would the groupset and the wheels be worth upgrading from? And is the d-fuse issue resolved in the 2024 issue already? Or not resolved at all?

Kinda like how this went from a premiere event to slightly obscure.
Hey fellow gravel cyclers, looking for some advice on bike sizing.
I recently ordered a Propain Terrell CF in size medium but I'm now wondering if I should make a change to the size small. I am 175 cm tall with 80 cm inseam. Per Propain's sizing chart, the size small is for riders 168-178 cm, and medium is 175-185 cm. On their website they say that if you are between two sizes, to size up for smoother rides and size down for a more playful feel.
Basically after seeing some videos from Cade Media on sizing I'm thinking I should have gotten the small. And based on just general reading it seems like the general consensus is to size down because it's always easier to make a bike larger with a longer stem and saddle adjustments but you can't really make it smaller.
I've been chatting with Propain as well, and they are advising me to keep the medium size but have said that I can make the change to small if I need to.
Thanks in advance!
Hey yall. im almost 17 and have no way of getting around. im unemployed at the moment but am applying for jobs to pay some debt back to family and i need a way of getting around and dont want to keep asking my family to take me to work.
does anyone know how/where i might be able to get a free/cheap E-Bike? I figured i would throw a go-pro on whatever helmet i end up getting (when i can afford one that is) and just throw rides up on YT to maybe hopefully get a little extra cash-flow but i dont think that will be anytime soon.
any help at all would be super crazy appreciated. please please be kind and dont hate on me for this question. i just really need something. thank you all in advance!
I do live in a hilly suburban area that makes my pedal bike super impractical for work and renting a bike just is not a reliable option in my area. i understand the hills will kill the bike battery much faster but the longest commute i might have is 15 miles and i would charge my bike while im on shift.
(sorry if this doesent fit this sub.)
Hello! My brother is an avid gravel cyclist and I don't know the first thing about it. I came to all of you pros for some advice. I want to get him a nice Christmas gift- something bike related and in the range of $100-$150. Maybe a helmet or anything else you can think of. Any advice is appreciated! Thank you!
I just bought them - they're in great condition, and I came from a GT agressor pro so yeah huge upgrade. What should I upgrade first when it does come time to upgrade them? What's y'all's opinion on them? I've heard they're heavy but when it comes to my old bike they're much better.
I’m just getting into cycling and just got this bike (Poseidon X Ambition) last week. Rode super well! Excited to see where it takes me
Ordered in Oct and finally arrived —initial ride thoughts: Fast, smooth, and surprisingly comfy.

Has this race gotten too expensive? $265 seems way too much for a “social” ride. $325 to race?! Or am I nitpicking here?
is it very expensive to go wireless from the following components? Uses include Light gravel, some bikepacking, and commuting.
gearshift | SRAM Apex, 12-speed |
---|---|
derailleur | SRAM Apex XPLR, max. 44 teeth on largest pinion |
crank | SRAM Apex 1, 40 Z., DUB Wide |
cassette | SRAM XG-1230, 11-44 Z, 12-speed |
Chain | SRAM Apex, 12-speed |
Anything to tweak/swap here to allow for a smoother shifting experience - ex: bigger cassette?
I'm coming from the mtb and now ride mostly road for 2 years.
I'd like to do some gravel race in France this year. Why not TRY to qualify for the UCI World Championship.
I'd like to convert a 29" hardtail as a gravel.
But my question is: Is it possible to participate to this kind of event with a Frankenstein bike?
Ridley have released a clip-on aerobar which works with the integrated "cockpit" on bikes like the Kanzo Fast, Noah Fast, &c. (Maybe with some of their other brands too, like Merckx?)
They seem to have released it quietly; I didn't know about it until researching how to fabricate one for myself because there was nothing in the usual online stores. But if you contact your local Ridley dealer and ask for part HBMAER4ZA002, they should be able to sell it to you (approx €200).
Hoping to do a bike build from the ground up, and trying to find a good budget alloy frame with a carbon fork.

The bike build is as follows:
2x11 Groupset:
Wheelset, Tyres:
Finishing kit – Stem, Handlebar, seatpost, saddle, pedals
I was wondering if you can run tubeless without the sealant in it and if it's even worth it with sealant ?
Might be better posted in MTB, but essentially I’m looking at a few 24hr races next year. I’ve rode out where the race is and the single track is a little too rough for a gravel, especially if the conditions aren’t ideal. Having some more suspension in the front and a wider tire would help.
I love the idea of a drop bar hardtail with some progressive geometry to still get the lively Gravel bike feel. Idea is to hit these races with then bike pack later with it. Price range is <5k with conversion as Im likely selling my full suspension to cover it.
