Hey guys, so first of all, I want to get into Gravel Biking, I already used a Scott Speedster for a week and I was in love with it. Now, I fell in love with the Scott Addict 30 Gravel bike, but here comes my problem.
The colour is ugly! Its an anodized Greenish colour or a Ugly Floor looking like Greyish colour. I really love that bike but the colours are not mine at all.
About me, I need a 58cm frame or a 61cm 📍Switzerland
So I need your guys help, what are the options for maybe changing colours? Is this even possible? What other Bikes are there that are approx the same as the Scott Addict Gravel 30?
My preferences are Carbon Frame not Aluminum with a dark colour, could be Dark Green, Dark Blue, Black etc. Just not something shiny. A shimano kit would be very nice + a 2x gear shift
Thanks for helping me out!
went out for a short ride in the afternoon
I recently purchased an Orbea Terra H41 1x gravel bike with the intent to make it my single bike that does it all. I am mostly commuting with 80% road use with really the occasional hardpack or poor quality road. I am looking for a really fast rolling tire for tubeless use. Rhe bike comes with Victoria Dry Gravel but I wanted something faster.
I was initially looking at the GP 5000 As TRs in 700x35c, but a friend told me to go semislick instead and I ordered a pair of the 2024 Panaracer GK SS plus. Is there anything better for my use case? I don't like the lookg of tan/brown sidewalls :(
Many thanks for the help.
Mostly used for commuting as of now, but planning on doing some smaller tours this summer!
Officially Ibis says the Hakka can take 40mm tire width for a 700c wheel. I understand that’s conservative. What is the actual safe width of tire that a Hakka can accommodate?
For the first time I took my bike to the beautifull trails. Enjoy your saturday!
2000 km down and many more to come. Replaced smoking with cycling. Didn’t save money but atleast now i can overtake roadbikes and feel smug about it. Kinda replaces the dopamin.
New to me and recent build. First gravel bike. Just about 17lbs at 61cm. E13 Wheelset, g one RS's (amazing!), SRAM force, 40t x 11-42 (XX1 cassette). FSA carbon stem. Fizik saddle. Coming from a road bike and mountain bike background. Such a versatile ride here, planning to use for casual road rides, gravel, bike packing etc. All in around 2.1k.
In my dream I was riding on technical single tracks with my gravel bike without any problems. I checked and realized I had front suspensions on the bike that I never noticed before.
Is this a sign I need a mountain bike? Or maybe I need to get out on my bike more often?
I’m thinking about adding a dropper post to my salsa cutthroat but don’t know what direction to go or what size dropper I should get.
Can anyone help with how I should find out such size and dropper post recommendations? Its a drop bar 2x drivetrain idk if that helps

Hi all,
I've biked a lot on a hybrid over the last few years and recently got a used 2022 diverge comp carbon as my first "nicer" bike. Although I ride a lot I don't really know much about bikes and I'm trying to learn now.
I ride about 30-40% gravel and the rest on road, and find myself maxing out on the road and wishing I could go faster. I almost never use the larger sprockets on the cassette unless I'm going up a very steep hill and I'm otherwise virtually always on one of the two smallest sprockets.
My research suggests that the way to achieve what I want is to get a 46T chainring but I'm having trouble understanding things like what chainring to get (# of bolts? why are some more expensive than others?), would I need a new chain, and so on. And the Specialized Diverge documentation says a 46T chainring is the highest it can take -- or can you go higher (and even if could, should I)?
The stock parts on my comp carbon can be found on the website and (I think) the pertinent things are:
Cassette: SunRace, 11-speed, 11-42t
Crankset: SRAM Rival 1x
Chainrings: 40T
Bottom Bracket: Sram GXP
Am I correct that this crank means I need to get a 5 bolt chainring?
Would this 46T chainring work (SRAM FORCE 1 X-SYNC CHAINRING), or even if it does, is there some other option I should be considering?
Appreciate any advice, and thanks.
I am riding ( not by choice ) on gravel on top of asphalt. Iam on a folding bike with 20" wheels - what PSI would give me the best traction? Right now I occasionally slide. Tires are both Schwalbe Marathon's at 50psi.
I am looking to buy my first gravel bike, and admittedly I am a little lost. I am looking at purchasing the Kona Rove 650b AL. It looks decent for its price and looks like it can perform well on and off-road. But I am slightly concerned with its comfortability and durability over multiday or highly technical trips. I could really use some advice/opinions on this bicycle. Thank you!
Has anyone used a GRX 12 speed 1x with 42T in the front and the 10-51 cassette? If so, how’s it working? It looks like it has good gear range without having too many large gaps. I’d use it on light gravel, daily riding and B/C group rides.
It was nice to bang out some miles on road and dirt as I’ve been mountain biking more this season.
Just had my bike upgraded with a GRX crankset and I'm noticing that the crankset is opened all the way through the bottom bracket to the other end. Why is this? Won't dirt, sand and mud get in there a muck it all up?
Hoping to upgrade my right 810 11spd Shifter to 820 12spd and keep my 810 left had lever. Are they the same body/hood/lever shape? Thanks!
Planning to get a wheelset from Light bicycle, what 700c tires would I be able to run with this? (I've had a custom made frame for a 700x38c wide tire, but Im also thinking if I can run 700x35c tires with this rim)
What are your experiences with running 38c vs 35c tires? (comfort, speed, etc)
Has anyone gone for some wider-than-stock aftermarket bars? Are they worth it to maybe get more control on downhill sections?
I got my bike as something of a clearance sale and ended up with the smallest possible frame I can fit on (still comfy) which happens to also come with slightly smaller handlebars.
Since I come from Hardtail with flatbars I definitely don’t feel as confident on my new gravel just yet (presumably never will, it’s obviously not the same despite suspension fork and seatpost) but I assumed maybe getting my arms further appart on the drops might help on downhill where I’m currently glued to the brakes where I used to be pedalling still?
Hello,
I am looking to buy my first Gravel or Trekking bike, leaning more towards the former (ideally below 1000€). I am 1,95m tall, inseam 97cm.
According to a measurement done at my local bike store I need a frame size of 64cm. The bikes I looked at online are nowhere near that size though, despite the dealers saying that they are suitable for riders up to 2m.
-Cube Nuroad XL, frame size: 58cm
Do you have any suggestions for a bike that could fit me?
Hi, i have taken my genesis gd 20 on her maiden voyage. Loved it. With my birthday coming up i have considered treating her to some upgrades for smooth travels. Not sure where to start, but as I am using this as my main mode of transport, any thing that will make it faster and more efficient will be ideal. Thanks
