As many of us probably are, I’m super disappointed in Wave FC, Jill Ellis and the league since reading yesterday’s news. I always tend to take rumors with a pinch of salt but there are too many clues for it not to reflect at least some truth. I know Skyblue/Gotham has a horrible history of abuse but it genuinely seems like things have changed for the better, the players look happy on and off the pitch and the club’s communication is positive and respectful to the fan community.
So I want to be hopeful for our club but I’m still curious to hear if anyone has any insights on the inner workings of the Gotham FC of today? Should we be worried at all?
I know the change has created a perfect balance of defense while assuring there are numbers in the final third of the pitch. It also creates space for passing, which suits a player like Rose Lavelle, who holds an 80 percent pass accuracy percentage. I wonder if this is going to remain for the rest of the season

Hey guys! I’m coming over from the UK, and will be there the same time as the Gotham v Chelsea match.
Will be staying in NYC, but just wondering as the match will finish late is public transport safe back into the city that late etc as will be on my own as a woman, or do we recommend any alternatives!
Also, is there home / away sections if I’m booking seating or are fans mixed? Any advice would be incredibly helpful, thank you!
I’ve been wondering about joining the fan group, but I’m not sure what kind of commitment it really is. I live in Manhattan which means it’s not that easy for me to go to Harrison, so I don’t want to keep declining invites and miss out… Also, is it a fun group of people?
I’ve been waiting probably a month or two for them to restock a medium or large and nothing! I want a player customization so I can’t get it from the NWSL shop or at game day. The most recent jersey I have is sky blue and I was waiting for the sponsor to change. Considering we’re halfway through the season, it’s a bit frustrating.
Hi everyone, we are new season ticket holders in section 118. I have two daughters who want to stay after the game and try to get autographs so we are going to Sunday. Any advice on best way to do this? Do folks move around the stadium after the final whistle? We usually leave at the 80th minute to beat traffic so I have no idea where to sheppard them. Thanks much!
With the USWNT Olympic roster dropped we now know Gothan will be down 5 players potentially 6 w/Lynn as an alternate.
Rose & Dunn will be missed but with a full healthy roster I think we have enough fire power up front to be competitive in the tournament games we have during the Olympics. However, we are basically losing our entire starting back line (with the potential of also losing Bruninha if she gets called up to Brazil) which has been our ultimate strength this season so far. Now we have good players to cover defense and all of them have played multiple positions on the back line and performed well but it feels like the position we are taking the biggest hit in.
Who would you start and where on the back line? Which CB partnership would you want? Who would you put on the left and who would you part on the right? What potential other players might you put back there that don't normally start in defense that could be used as depth
My answer: Bell and Maitane as the CB, Freeman left and Hiatt right, with Torres and Martin as depth players (Torres on the wings and Martin as CB.
At this point of the season, we know what weapons we have (unless we got a miraculous transfer after the Olympics). Barring injuries, our roster is pretty strong.
Who would be your starting XI to go into the playoffs right now? If we have a 4-3-3 lineup:
GK: Berger RB: Freeman CB: Davidson and Sonnett LB: Nighswonger DM: Maitane CM: Martin CAM: Lavelle RW: Dunn LW: Williams ST: Esther
Some tough choices for me were leaving Hiatt and Stevens on the bench, but I feel like this squad right there could beat anyone else. Sheehan and Ryan have had a lot of playing time but ultimately they are good backup options.
I’d love to hear your thoughts!
So I was at the game and I don’t even know what the second yellow card was for. Was it cause she talked to him or something. If anyone knows or has an idea tell me please
This week’s games prove it, we need backup in the offense to overcome the injuries and stupid imaginary red cards… does anyone know what is happening with Svava Gudmundsdottir? I keep seeing her in the list of absent players due to “excused absence” 🧐 she might be able to add some depth to the squad…
Neither of the yellows were yellows and apparently the dude can't see fouls that happen in front of him.
Just got a ticketmaster update with all tickets moving to 6pm tomorrow night
After the last match against San Diego, where Gotham won in spite of having only one forward available and Rose subbed out, I feel more hopeful that ever: the chemistry on and off the field is off the charts, we are creating way more chances than at the start of the season. The defense and goalkeeping have no equal in the league, and we all know that defense wins championships! Winning against the Spirit tomorrow would be a great way to confirm the hopes… am I being too optimistic?
Attending my first game on Sunday and curious about the Fan Fest event. Is Fan Fest open to anyone who has tickets for Sunday or just season ticket holders? Also, I know it says it’s Kids Day, but is there an actual age limit? Also, if Fan Fest is listed as starting at 11 am, what would be a good time to reach the stadium?
Hello, I have tickets to the home game this Sunday and am worried about the head. The weather channel is predicting 98 degree temperatures which has me concerned as I am taking my younger singling to this game as an early birthday present. I was prepared for rain but not this.
Suggestions on how to proceed? I’d hate to lost out on my money and a gift as I can’t get a refund, but I also don’t want to be totally miserable the whole time. Any tips on beating the heat? Is the stadium shady? I’ve only been to one game and that was a later in the day game in like October so I’m not too sure how a day time game would be.
Thanks for any feedback - I really want to go
Kinda random question, but I was wondering if you could bring a camera to Red Bull? I’ve got a Canon EOS Rebel T7 with both a 18-55mm and 75-300mm lens. Some places are really strict and are absolutely no camera, but I’m not sure about Red Bull. If anyone’s had any experience or knows what the situation is I’d appreciate it.
I have two tickets in Section 123 that I’m not able to use tonight originally $65 but happy to sell them for $30.
Taking my daughter to her first game today. I have been reading and searching for information and tips but really not much there. She is a huge Morgan fan. We are in section 115, the first row. Do we have any chance of seeing her? Are players out before the game? After? Signing? Is there any must-dos at the stadium? Completely new territory for me. She is 9 almost 10. I’ve never been to a soccer game before. I’m sure it is much different than baseball and football so any information would be great! Thanks so much everyone! Pic so this doesn’t get lost.
Hey everyone. I am selling one ticket for the supporters section in Red Bull Arena for the 6/19 game. I am a season ticket holder so it is way cheaper than any ticket you can buy online. Please let me know if interested!
Message me if you are interested.
Section 126, row 4, seats 5-7
With the second Cascadia Rivaly game being played I stared thinking/getting curious about who everyone considered as Gotham's biggest rival if they even had any? My opion: Idk if it's just cause of how everything played out on and off the pitch at the Challenge Cup game this year but I feel like it's the Wave. Add on that this year's away game tie against them is the first time we have picked up points from them just makes it seem even more so.
Who do you think it is, is there a rivaly carried over from th Sky Blue days? Thoughts, opinions?
Anyone have any tips for where to go for free street parking near redbull arena? I don't mind walking 10-20 minutes to the stadium. i have a longer drive to get home and post game traffic is the worst! Any suggestions for other more feasible parking areas would be much appreciated!
Hi,
I'm heading to RBA for a few matches in the near future (one Gotham, but also the USWNT against Mexico). I feel pretty safe about taking the PATH for the Gotham match, but I'm not sure about the WNT... It's looking like RBA is going to be packed (rightfully so), I just need to get back to Manhattan after a few hours, so I don't mind waiting for a train, but the question is will I get a train after the match? Or should I start looking for other options other than PATH?
One last thing, can I trust this trip planner (lol): https://www.panynj.gov/path/en/trip-planner.html
First timer on an FC Gotham game at the Red Bull arena. Any recs for vegan/vegetarian friendly food? And also general food recs?
Hello, taking my baby son and my nieces to their first game tomorrow. I’m looking at the ticket section 110 and just want to know if that’s like the vip area. With a baby under one and two teenagers I just want to have a relaxed time and not have to worry about food or anything. Does that entire section include in the vip stuff? Trying to make a decision on tickets for tomorrow. Thank you.
