As the title says, can I back up all my google photos to an external.. which I know how to. But does anyone know how to keep it syncing with the external SSD? Or do I just keep sending new pics and vids to the external every once in a while?

I can see from her app on the sharing screen that the photos were sent to me, but I am not receiving them for some reason. I have asked her to resend them but it gives her a message saying she already sent them. We both have a good signal and everything. This has happened multiple times in the past too.

I use google photos as a backup for some of my photos. I’ll often put a photo on google photos and then delete it from my iPhone. However, there are instances where when I download it back, it’s no longer a Live Photo. This only happens for some photos not all. Does anyone else have this problem?

So the face grouping function always worked fine for me, but I recently (six months back or so) made a lot of new friends and I want their faces to also be recognized, but they're not. I though maybe disabling and enabling would work but now all of my faces are gone. Does someone know a fix?

I noticed that my phone is running out of its memory. I found out that my Gallery app(not Google) uses 80GB of internal storage and it is because it has integrated Google Photos synchronization function.
I don't need all the pics to be stored locally.

Can I keep the auto-backup function from the phone to the cloud without the synchronization?

All the settings available to me are confusing, because backup≠sync, but the app act like it is one thing.

Hi! To upload photos onto Google Photos, I dragged from Photos on Mac. I noticed when I uploaded them to the Google Photos albums, all my photos were suddenly out of order. When I looked more closely, I saw that many of them were saved as having today's date, in an UNADJUSTEDNONRAW format. Does anyone know how to avoid this? Many thanks!

Hi - I ran out of storage on iphone. Can I download google photos, synch that with my iphone, then delete the photos off of my iphone but keep them store in google photos..... How can i do this if possible?

Hello, recently I took a lot of pictures for my friends and I had my pictures backed up onto a google photos folder. But, I had forgotten to fully let them upload onto google photos and deleted them off, my camera roll. So now the pictures are just partially uploaded. Is there anything I can do about this??

Earlier today, I create a locked folder on my phone and then populated it with 10 photos.

This locked folder was then synced to my Google Photos on the web. (Great !)

Now, let's say that I uninstall or otherwise reset the Google photos app installed on my phone.

Will the locked folder get resynced back to my phone ?

Or will the un-installation / resetting processes on my phone delete the locked folder in my Google Photos on the web ?

I am very annoyed when my friend (?) decided to delete her photo on my phone and decided to clear out all the photos on my trash folder. I have some important photos I need to retrieve from my recently deleted photos and now I need help on how to retrieve them even they are permanently deleted on my account. Is there any tool/app/way to restore those photos?

I partner shared all my photos from my university email to my personal since I'm graduating soon. I wanted to re-make my albums but it doesn't show any of the people in the shared photos under the people and pets category. I wanted to add all the ones of my girlfriend into an album and to include a lot of other new people only on the other account. So what I am looking to do is upload images and be able to have supporting text with the image. Not as a caption but something that is visible but not text on top of photo. I have artwork that I would like to upload images of, as I do not have a website set up yet I'm hoping to use this as a portfolio so customers can view which art is available. And the text is to provide information like price, canvas size ect.

Is there any way go sync the google photos gallery of 2 different google accounts? Recently noticed that I've been using the 'wrong' one, and unfortunately, on my main account, everything is absolutely stuffed with useless photos that I've already deleted from the other one, as well as some photos that haven't yet uploaded there (though I think that happens automatically as long as they're still in my phone's gallery)

Every time I delete a photo from the gallery app, it deletes it from google photos as well, even after it's been backed up. Starting to get a little frustrated because I'm trying tonfree up space on my phone.

Hi all! Recently been having trouble with automatic backup.

My phone's local gallery uses Google Photos as it's cloud service and backup. In the past, it uploaded whatever media I had in my local gallery to Google Photos.

Now with automatic backup turned on, it recovers all of my old media, and downloads onto my local gallery and saved in a restored folder. Its taking up so much of my phone's storage.

It wasnt like this before, anyone else having the same issue? Thanks!

How do I send a link to a video on Google Photos via text message to ppl who don't use the Google Photos app?

I'm trying to send the url to a video on Google Photos to our FamChat, but the link just redirects to a 404 error page.

This scenario is suspiciously similar to the problems we used to have in the FamChat when one member had an Android. Hopefully the Gov is working on a(nother) monopoly suit against Google like the one just filed against Apple...

I used to have backup on Google Photos but now I'm almost out of storage so I'm wondering if there's a way to unbackup photos or anything that works that way. I have a Motorola so Android if that helps.

Google storage is full and in the Photos app there is no logout button like you'd expect for Gmail, etc. All I can find is "Remove Account From Device" which seems like photos will be lost/deleted.

Is there a way to keep the photos on my phone where they are, and keep photos that are in the cloud, in the cloud?

I have used google photos since 2017 and never had an issue. It keeps photos I dont wanna keep, and backs up regardless (which in the long run its amazing) and saves absolutely EVERYTHING.

Anyway.

I moved to dubai last June and then moved again in November, I then deleted the photos from my camera roll on my phone but every photo from the day I left my home country to the day I moved in November is missing. Not a SINGLE image. It jumps straight from June to November.

I have checked every single google account I have access to and nothing. When I opened one account, they were there for a split second and then vanished.

I have checked the Icloud on the web, I have tried everything I can think of, all the settings, everything.

Am I going crazy? Please help. I need those images back. ANY IDEAS?

I have multiple Gmail accounts on my phone. In Google photos I selected one of them for my photos and videos to be backed up to. However, the photos are being backed up to all my Gmail accounts on the phone. Am I the only one experiencing that?

Are there any softwares that do facial recognition like google photos but on device media for windows?

The storage I have for my email is full and there's quite a number of backed up photos/videos I want to clear from there to free up space, but I don't want them deleted from my gallery. Is there something in the settings I can change so deleting from Google photos won't remove them from my gallery?

I'm trying to figure out how to get Google photos to refresh thumbnails and/or remove the places ribbon. I have old pictures that were moved to archive that are still being used for these thumbnails. When I click on the place that is using an archived photo it brings me to a map saying "no photos for this location" (which makes sense since I moved the photo). I've also tried deleting those photos but it doesn't change the thumbnails. I've tried both the Android app and desktop Web view, nothing is working. I've tried clearing the cache. I really want to get rid of those thumbnails (both for places no longer valid and places where I have more current photos).

I need help...I clicked the motify pictures to clean up storage. And all of my photos are gone in my gallery but are in my google photos. Does anyone know how to recover those photos back ?? They were all my concert videos I took the other day...ans I need them back...

I have an android. I'm trying to figure out two things.

1. How can I have google photos automatically delete photos on their cloud when I delete them from my phone? I have a bunch of stupid photos on google photos taking up tons of space. When I delete them on my phone they don't seem to delete off google photos.

2. If I were to completely wipe my google photos, would they also delete from my phone? I'm debating just not using google photos since I now don't have space for email and other things.
