I have 2 issues:
My IOS app for google photos has 155 images, when I go to the web it only has 55. Why is that?
I am not able to see the pictures my partner has added. It only shows up in the activity but not in the album itself.
I have taken away all google photos permissions on my xiaomi remdmi note 8 pro and deleted all photos from google photos, because I had no space left. I still have all my photos in the gallery on my phone, if I were to give google photos all its permissions back, would all my photos from my phone get deleted?
Interested in knowing how folks are managing their Google Photos with partner sharing turned ON. My wife and I both have accounts and use partner sharing between them but deleting pics and videos can be a logistical nightmare due to the inability to delete photos that are not yours. How is everyone else managing their shared accounts? Any sound practical experience?
So my storege was full due to my photoes on googlephotos, so i deleted like 5000 of photos from my googlephoto and i expected them to be deleted from my gallery as well. Well, well they deleted those photos AND DELETED ALMOST ALL MY PHOTOS FROM MY GALLERY THAT I DIDNT DELETE! WTF???? I AM ENRAGED!!
I've recently gotten a new google account as my old one was created a long time ago (and a bit embarrassing). I deleted the old account off my phone and chose to back-up my phone to the new account. There are photos from my old phone and my current phone in my google photos app at the moment. Here are my issues/concerns: The old account still shows that there is 70gb worth of photos in that google storage. The new account shows that there is only 10gb in the storage. My phone currently has 44gb worth of photos on it.
My question is, are the photos actually backed up to the new account? The gb difference says that there must be something missing? I don't want to pay for upgraded storage on both accounts so will deleting pictures from the old account while them everywhere? Considering that it should be at least 80gb, why is it only showing 10gb?
Uploading to Google Photos using the Google Drive application on desktop (Windows 10) hasn't been working at all for me since 28 January 2025. I have disconnected and reconnected my account several times, and reinstalled the Drive app, and I have turned my VPN service off and on. There are no bandwidth limitations that I can notice. I have cleared the list of folders to be uploaded, then saved jpegs to an entirely new folder and queued that folder to be uploaded; but nothing doing.
Google Photos on my Android phone seems to be working just fine. And manual upload to photos dot google dot com on Chrome works OK too.
Am I the only one experiencing this of late? Is there anything I need to be doing? I've never had this particular issue before.
Dis they remove denoise ? I'm not finding it
Hi, I hope someone can answer this question as I was worried I couldn't find anything on the subject in the terms and conditions (unless I'm searching wrong).
I have a phone with a custom rom (with the zip name PixelOs, on a Samsung A20 specifically) and well, like any ROM that pretends to be an old pixel, I get the benefit of "unlimited space". It always gave me the question if they can suspend the account or cancel the use of Google Photos for doing this practice.
And in case it is suspendable, it is not enough to just remove the device from the Google account and no longer use the benefit ¿right? I would think there would be some record of the previous movements. I ask this question more than anything because I should easily have more than 300gb in the cloud obviously at no cost thanks to that, and it is very important both the mail and all my gallery.
Thanks in advance!
Hoping u guys can help me/us.
My wife and i r using Google Photos to share our photos and screenshots.
But for a couple of weeks now, the normal camera photos do synchronize as they have always done to our satisfaction, but if my wife or i take a screenshot those pics don't get synchronized anymore....?
We checked everthing but all is good and we haven't changed anything in a while.
Hoping to hear ideas of what might be going on.............
Hey! Has anyone lately noticed that the stabilization is not being properly applied? The zoom in is made but the shaking persists as not stabilization was processed...
I hope this makes sense, I want to keep all the videos I've taken with my phone camera, but delete the ones from external sources (I.e. downloaded online or from tiktok) is it possible?
Hey,
I hope you can understand me as English is not my native language.
I recently started to safe my photos in Google and I like it a lot. I have some images on my harddrive which are not taken by me (eg Christmas Images by my mom) and I'm looking for a way to add them to my roll in an album and make it look like my mom added them (her name would be shown when you see the images in the album).
Is something like this possible?
Thanks in advance!
I have checked everything I can find and I can’t get this notification to go away . I even tried removing and reinstalling app. iOS 18.3 iPhone 16 plus
Hi
I have a rather embarrassing/dumb question -- I can usually just figure these things out. Android Photos offered a panel (going by memory) where it indicated that I wasn't backing up certain folders, one of them being photos in Messages. I thought it was a good idea to back those up Messages images but letter realized that much of the images were just dumb memes etc sent by friends.
When I go to the Photos settings "Photo Settings > Backup > Backup device folders" I only see toggles for folders that are not presently being backed up. The two folders (one being messages) that I originally toggled to backup are not there so I can't "untoggle" them.
Is there some trick to get them to show up so I can remove them from backups?
I can't stop seeing my ex's face on my phone! It's been a year since our break-up and the issue hasn't corrected itself. He's already hidden from memories. I've deleted probably a thousand or more photos of him. I've archived several more. He's still the 4th top person!!
That means when I go to "people and pets" he's RIGHT THERE. I am honestly so sick of this.
-I don't want to remove the tag because that's how I can hide him from memories.
-I don't want to delete the remaining photos.
Hey yall, just trying to see if someone have the same problem as me. I'm trying to transfer my Google Photos to iCloud using the "new" auto-transfer function at https://takeout.google.com/takeout/transfer/custom/photos .
I tried starting a transfer some days ago, and today I got an email that it has stopped due to an internal error. When I try to restart it again, I get stopped by apple when authorizing the transfer.
Have anyone had the same problem? Would waiting another day maybe solve it?
So I had deleted a lot of the photos on Google photos maybe one year back and today while randomly scrolling through my gallery I find that most of the deleted photos have been restored. Please do advice .
Wanting to print a downloaded picture of family that i hired a photographer to take. Shutterfly and Walgreens cropped a person off of each end. 16x20. It’s a gift for 100yo’s bday of her family. Wth? Should I contact photographer or am I doing something wrong?
I have an iPhone and am thinking of switching to Google Photos. I'm just wondering if, if I were to run out of device storage but not Google storage, would the photos still sync and be accessible, and where?
Hi, I have read some threads here but i can't still figure wether what I want to achieve is possible and how.
On my Samsung/android, I backed up all local the photos in Google Photo. I was not expecting that these photos would be removed from the local storage and that i would not access them anymore when my phone is offline/flight mode...
I'm trying to find out how to revert this change back to the default: have my photos stored on my phone and accessible through the google Photos app. And I have many photos...
I will be happy have a solution ! Thank you,
I've been using the backup for years by now, uploading on daily, down to hundreds of photos in one go, now its struggling to upload 30 photos in almost hour and a half...? I continuously need to open and close the app to see the notification in the notif bar of the photos excruciatingly uploading one by one in the span of minutes the number goes down by one... Previously it would be done in the matter of a minute...
I accidentally synced Google photos somehow, but I can't delete the photos/videos from the cloud while also keeping them on my phone. I also couldn't find the setting in the app
Is this possible? Basically, I'm trying to put together a video montage of moments for a birthday party, but I don't want everyone to see everyone else's videos and uploads.
Would I need to look at an alternate program to do this?
Tl;dr I think I'm good but I want to be sure. Hit the button?
My phone is close to full with a lot of photos and videos. Everything is synced with Google Photos. I know that deleting directly from my phone would likely delete them in Google Photos, so I'm about to do Free Up Space.
I just spent a while copying all 13,000 photos and videos off of my phone onto an external hard drive. (This took longer than usual because my phone's charging port doesn't work anymore.) I'm double checking the external hard drive to make sure that I got everything that I intended. The reason this is important is because I use storage saver on Google Photos, and while I don't really notice a difference in quality, I want to preserve the original quality somewhere anyway.
Wi-Fi is available to me most of the time, and when I'm somewhere where it isn't, my data plan is decent, so I'm not worried about being able to access my photos. I'm already usually using Google Photos anyway to access stuff since I have many more pictures that are not on my phone anyway.
So my stuff is backed up locally at full quality. I'm not worried about being able to access photos that are not on my device. But I feel like I see a horror story about using Free Up Space every week or so on here. Most of the time, it sounds like people who didn't realize what they were doing and accidentally deleted everything off of their phone. That's not me.
Is there anything else that I should be considering before I do this? Or do you think I'm ready to mash that button? Thanks!
I have loads of pictures in my Google Photos. Now, for some reason my avatar has changed to a picture that I don not like. The main reson is that that specific photo is not a picture of me, but instead of some other dude that just happend to be in a picture.
How do I change my "avatar" to av picture I don like and is there a way to find that specific photo with the strange dude in and delete it?
Hi!
Is there a way to prevent some photos from being backed up to google photos (on my Android phone)?
For example, dummy photos people send on WhatsApp groups or maybe specific photos I could mark as “do not back up”
Thanks a lot!
