What is the best way to get to a point early enough where you can just mash your way through the game? It doesn't nessisarily need to be fast, just to the point where the game becomes easy.
Is there a build or grinding spot early in the game that can make getting through the game a walk in the park?
I'm kinda new to golden sun and i can't seem to find a surefire way on the reddit
What determines how many djinn I can equip at one time. I’m at Ch.6-Altmiller Cave and it seems that my characters can only equip 6 max djinn at one time. When/how do I get that 7th slot?
I really don't want to have to go through the sea of time again to get back to Lemuria in the lost age. Is there a faster way back in?
for example a Jupiter electro ability that interacts with a mechanism, or a Mercury ability that temporarily freezes a water surface to walk on it
Hey everyone, I recently stumbled upon this old cheat page claiming that there’s a secret "Grand Code" for Golden Sun (GBA): 👉 Link to the cheat page The method described is... well, let's say, quite elaborate (leveling up, collecting potions, dropping everything, pressing buttons hundreds of times, etc.). It even suggests that entering a sequence fast enough unlocks some kind of "ultimate cheat mode" with direct game memory modification. Since the website might not stay up forever, here’s the exact sequence described:
Reach Level 10 with all characters before reaching the world map. Buy 30 potions for each character at Vault. Drop all items, weapons, and armor while standing on the broken bridge. Fight enemies until encountering a "Vermin" (a type of monster). During the battle, defend exactly 50 times per character, then defeat the monster. After the battle, stand in front of the broken bridge and press A + B exactly 500 times. If done correctly, a man should appear, thanking you and giving you a code: A B A B R L L R R L B L R B A Entering this code within 3 seconds supposedly unlocks the "Cheat Mode". If you talk to the man again and re-enter the code in 1.5 seconds, it supposedly unlocks an advanced memory editor/debug mode.
This whole process seems way too tedious for a normal player, but a TAS (Tool-Assisted Speedrun) setup could easily verify it: ✅ Frame-perfect input – Can ensure the A+B presses are exactly 500. ✅ Save States – Can retry the final code input within the required time limit. ✅ Memory Viewer – Can check if any variables change upon performing the steps. Given how specific this is, it feels like a joke
I’m skeptical, but if this is even remotely testable, I'd love to hear from anyone who tried it! Cheers! 🚀
Hey everyone! First time posting - but I just picked up this sick pop up display thing from a local retro shop. I can’t find anything like them online - is there some name for these Im missing in my search - or does anyone have more info on it?
I thought it was too cool to pass up but now I can’t find any info on items like this 😅
Is this a real thing? I just came across this article (sorry, can’t text-link on mobile: https://expertbeacon.com/will-there-be-a-golden-sun-4/ ) and, while a bit dubious, it sources two quotes via, unfortunately, dead links on Nintendolife and videogameschronicle:
Hiroyuki Takahashi: "We too are waiting for the day we can make the next game. We don’t know when or how, but we’d definitely love to make it."
Shugo Takahashi: “I can‘t share concrete information, but I personally love the Golden Sun series and would love to make a new game.”
Both quotes from 2021. Assuming these are real, would this be the first time they have spoken of Golden Sun’s future since 2012? They could be fabricated, but these are very Takahashi-esque statements.
It’s entirely possible that this is fake or AI, in which case this is embarrassing and I am very sorry. :P
Party members that the Ancient Devil possesses still gain Weapon Mastery from attacking.
Congratulations Himi for mastering the Muramasa's Rising Dragon!
(sorry if the video game related names are not the correct ones in english as I play the french version)
Hi theren everyone.
As a long timer, I thought I knew everything about Golden Sun 2, including the fact that even withtout codes or transfer, we can get all the djinnis in GS2.
I'm actually playing a new game of GS2 (emulated) and I did not bother entering a random password at the beginning of the game just to realize I cannot enter Anemos since I do not have all the djinnis.
However, I noticed something I never noticed before. I was able to find a couple of djinnis in some dungeons (the one where is the magician is as well as Magma mountain) that I'm pretty sure are not supposed to be here if you do a transfer or use a password...
My question is : is there a guide out there that tells you where to find those "extra" djinnis to complete your collection ? Because now I'm convinced of one thing : you CAN get all the djinnis, even without password or transfer.
As there are a few new members to this little group, I wanted to share with you a project I worked on about a year ago.
Have fun exploring.
There was a YouTube channel named 0rangaStang who, a number of years ago, created a remastered soundtrack playlist of all Golden Sun music (including Dark Dawn) that seems to be original (i.e., not a cleaned-up/modernized version of Motoi Sakuraba's original score, but something that this user created themselves). Does anyone know if 0rangaStang got their start/ever hung out in this subreddit? Just curious if the finished project was ever "released" since it was years ago that it was created, and the channel seems to be mostly inactive.
Thanks all!
Recently got my fourth party member, a blue haired water adapt guy with glasses. The mountain I crossed was collapsed by Alex's henchmen, though I think I got everything before. I've read there are points of no return in this game. Is the mountain now inaccessible? Can I ever return to look out cabin or the camp or any near locations? Also, how do you know if a location will be permanently locked after you leave and ensure you don't miss stuff such as djinn (which I plan to try to collect all).
Doing my yearly playthrough of both games, the second I get to the world map, the whole screen is shaking and flickering. Once I'm in the menu or in battle etc, it stops... any ideas? It's borderline impossible to play like that
Playing on ROG Ally if that helps. FPS limit set to 60, using performance mode. Standard settings that I know of
I can't find shit online, this is a last resort. Whatever I've found just says unknown for their age
(Also I just started playing and not knowing this is gonna bug the hell outta me)
Is anyone making a Golden Sun fan game? Whether it's a spin off, remake, prequel or sequel. If not, is there anyone with the skill to make one interested in a collaboration? I am a writer, and Golden Sun was one of my favorite childhood gaming franchises. If someone has the skill to create a fan game with graphics akin to, let's say, the Pokémon fan game Atlas, I'd be on board 100%.
That being said, I think there's so much expansion to be done with the IP, its world, mechanics, etc. I think some things could be redacted in order to properly flesh out said expansions, especially in regard to the story. Like a re-imagining. I'm here for a re-imagining discussion!
What would you change? What would you expand on? I think I would go away with the edge of the world flat-earth thing they had going on, expand the world into a larger globe-like structure, and revamp the story to fit that, then expand from there. I would want to make character development, world and character history much much deeper, and expand on the lore. I'd expand Psynergy puzzles and whatnot to be more difficult and varied. Perhaps make some puzzles solvable in a variety of ways to incite more creative uses of Psynergy. More side content that would help to expand lore. I'm really curious what y'all would do.
I am more of a story driven person, and in a collaboration, that's where most of my time and energy would be spent. I really think this is an IP ripe for one hell of a fan game, a re-imagining built from scratch.
So this story begins I believe in the year 2007 to possibly 2009… on a family trip. I can’t remember where exactly our location was at the time but it was definitely a very backwoods town in the south..
We stopped into a local Walmart… at the time still an old original OG small Walmart and I remember noticing many things on the shelves that you didn’t find in super Walmarts anymore. Oddly enough walking through the “magazine section” I notice a section of shelves at the end of the isle with clearance video games.
I already owned golden sun and loved it greatly.. and even at that time knew that it was gaining ground as a valuable game.. most of the games were as you would expect… namco arcade bundle for example…and to my surprise here this copy sat on the shelf.. for 20 dollars. I remember thinking to myself as I grabbed it up that I already knew it was worth more than that then… and so I bought it and stored it away.
And here it is now… 20 years later still in its original packaging.. the gameplay of me completing both games all over again via the Nintendo switch got me wanting to look for it..I’m glad as a teenager I was smart enough to know to lock it away.
Trying the boss, I found out that I can only decrease his attack 139 points. He can increase his attack by that numbers, so it seems normal... But he can keep increasing his attack, and i fail all attack decrease after 139.
Is this intended, or im just increíble unlucky? He ends 1shoting Garet 🤣.
(Talking about reloaded mod, not vainilla)
