i have several gotcha evolves in my household (whole family plays) and i noticed that (when connected to the gotcha app on the iphone) there are different app and firmware versions depending on which device is connected.
what is the current app version?
what is the most current firmware version?
and if i don't have the latest, how do i update the firmware? lots of posts say that i need to connect via the gotcha evolve app (done) but there's no button or link to execute a firmware upgrade. what am i missing here?
second question/issue. one of the devices just decides to reboot itself randomly. this wouldn't be such a big deal if it didn't make such a damn loud buzzing sound. even with the buzzer-off option, i fear the damn thing acting up while trying to get through airport security. anyone else seen anything like this? if so, what did you do to solve it? i've read some posts that talk about rapidly plugging and unplugging the gotcha evolve to a USB power source between 12 and 20 times (i've done 20-25 for good measure) but that doesn't do anything.
i've seen youtube DIY videos to replace the battery it shows the contact points between the main board and the buzzer/vibrator mechanism. i'm temped to crack it open and put electrical tape over those contacts but i really don't want to have to resort to that. is there any way to fix this constant rebooting.
Hi, i've lost my auto catcher (brook) charger. Can i made one myself with something or where can i found one ?
Only had it a few months, hadn’t used it in a few days so charged overnight and no lights or anything. Found a post on r/pokemongo about resetting it so tried that and it vibrated once and started charging again. Just tried to use it now but back to being unresponsive even when pressing the reset button on the back. Any ideas?
HI guys,
just got Gotcha Evolve and it spin, it catch but no animations on display. Only statuses about connection are on display.
Also no update on fw via web app.. I tried animations disable enable and nothing..
Thanks
I’ve had some issues with my Reviver previously - it shows a lock symbol and only is responsive for the first few seconds after it gets plugged in. My charger broke on Friday so I ordered a new one, delivered yesterday. I still had the same issue with only responding right after being plugged in. I let it charge overnight and now this morning, nothing. Completely black screen even right after plugging in 😣
I’ve tried the plug/unplug 3 times but still nothing. Any suggestions? 🤞
We all know that the duomon 2022 is as fragile as an egg.
Mine has been put together with electrical tape since 2022.
Is the 3 better? Does anyone have it? Does anyone has had both?!
Hello there!
After many years of service, my original G-Tcha is starting to die.
I was thinking of replacing them with the Go-Tcha Tag since I usually hang my Go-Tcha off my belt loops anyway. I didn't find any reviews of this device yet, so I'm asking here: How is the Go-Tcha Tag?
Also a couple specific questions:
I would have to order from Datel directly since no local retailers sell it. Meaning no returns.
For those that have used autocatchers, Do you know what other autocatchers also use great balls and ultra balls. Also do they use them once the red ball are all used up?
Thanks.
Does anyone know what's the best way to get in contact with Duomon English support?
The battery flap on my Duomon broke and I'm curious to see if they have a way of fixing it. As the device can't power on if the batteries are help in place.
Thanks!
Can you use the go plus + iOS on an android phone? Looking to get one but noticed the iOS edition is much cheaper in Amazon than the Android. thanks🙏🏻
So I bought this duomon 3 yesterday and I have it set up. It’s blinking purple right now which the guide says means it’s connected. Why is it not catching or spinning? I’ve checked both settings, my storage is not full. This thing seems kinda unreliable am I doing something wrong?
I've had a few different devices over the years, but the better ones are always big and bulky and the smaller ones are so bad they're not worth using.
Is there any new generation devices that's decent and small? something I can throw on a keychain and not notice.
I see there's the Brook Autocatch, is there anything else?
Niantic and The Pokémon Company really need to reassess their support teams because there's a major issue with understanding user concerns.
Even after the latest update, the Pokemon Go Plus+ device stops working when the Pokémon GO app isn't in focus.
I've explained this multiple times, detailing every troubleshooting step I’ve followed, such as:
Other players are reporting the same issue, but every response from Niantic is just a generic "follow the troubleshooting steps" and "contact The Pokémon Company." When I reached out to the Pokémon Company, they gave me the same unhelpful troubleshooting guide. It feels like I'm talking to a brick wall.
It's unbelievable how ineffective their support system is. We’ll likely go months without a solution, again, because their teams don't seem to grasp the problem.
Let’s all report this to Niantic through the app and to The Pokémon Company’s online report tool. Maybe if we raise enough awareness, they'll finally take action!
My Auto Catch works fine connecting to POGO but not to the Pocket Auto Watch app nor the Pocket Center app. I want to update the firmware because apparently there are functions that I don't have access to that I SHOULD have access to.
Help pls!
I'm looking at devices that can work with two accounts, but I was curious if any of them have the ability to throw a better ball via button press like the Go Plus+ can.
I am going on holidays next month and that's usually when I play Pokemon Go but I lost my Gotcha recently when I lost my keys. I went to Code junkies and saw they now had a whole bunch of variations of the Gotcha and I don't know which one to get...
iPhone 14, iOS 17.5.1
Normally when I play, I use the Go++ to spin stops for me while I actively catch Pokemon. I've been having an issue where the device will just never start spinning stops again after I stop interacting with the game. Sometimes I'll leave PoGo open or sometimes I'll lock my phone, but it doesn't seem to matter. In order to fix this, I have to disconnect and reconnect the device. When I looked this up, I saw some say that the Go++ stopping for 30 seconds is normal, but mine will stop doing anything for several minutes at least, despite being in range of Pokestops. Is this normal behavior at all or is there something wrong with how my device is acting?
is there a firmware update that makes the vibration less strong and the light?
Hello all, I'm looking to get my first autocatcher! I've done some research and I'm stuck between these two. Can anyone attest for any of these or give me your thoughts?
I did consider the Go ++, but I'll be in a small classroom 5 days out of the week, so I don't want it to be buzzing all the time, and I don't want to spend the extra money to get the supplies to mod it.
Pretty much as the title says, but I’m curious about the experience of others.
Biking past pokestops at a brisk-but-leisurely pace (certainly not racing, just commuting) I started using my partner’s 3rd party autocatcher (not naming so I don’t seem like a shill) and was amazed it spun them all whereas my official Go++ would normally only get some of them (a difference of getting 45 out of 50ish vs 13 out of 50ish).
Over the last week I’ve tried connecting the 3rd party to both of our phones while riding the same route at the same time, and the official go++ to both phones, and the 3rd party spins almost 3x as many on the same route at the same pace. Both were set to only do pokestops, not Pokémon. Same phone model, same iOS version, app the same, etc.
Is there really something more to the device than just allowing the app to “see” the pokestops or am I missing something obvious? I kind of just assumed that the official go++ was sort of a “key” that allowed the app to behave in a certain way, but is there another purpose that may be not working correctly in mine?
Honestly Niantic and Pokémon Company need to review their support teams because they have a serious comprehension issue.
The Go Plus/Gotcha devices have broken when Pogo app is not in focus.
I've explained the entire situation countless times, I've told them exactly what troubleshooting guides I've followed.d
I've explained that I've tried multiple devices, I've even purchased another Go plus+. Also that many people are experiencing the same issues and that reverting the update fixed the issues until Niantic forced the update this morning
Every single replay back from Niantic has been a default follow the troubleshooting guides and felling.me to contact the Pokémon Company.
I've also reached out to the Pokémon Company, they've also sent the same troubleshooting guide.
I'm banging my head against a brick all. I cannot believe how inept they are.
We're going to go months without a resolution,, again, because Support is locking basic comprehension.
Please can we all report the issues to Niantic within the app and via the Pokémon Company report tool online.

For the last two days my auto spinning device only works with tge phone on and the app actively used. Adventure synch works for eggs, buddy and routes, so that's not it. If I lock my phone or switch apps it stays connected but won't spin stops or catch mons until I unlock my phone and open pogo. Tried disconnecting and unpairing, charging, restarting, checked app permissions. Nothing works. Anyone else having this problem?
I bought a Gotcha Generation and both wristbands promptly broke off (which seems to be a pretty common experience). Does anyone have either A. an idea of an off-the-shelf band that exists that might reasonably fit just the electronic part of the device or B. some sort of adapter to a more standard band that I could 3D print?
so im looking to get my first autocatcher but dont want to spend $100 to get one. im thinking about getiing the brook autocatch carry but are there better options? thanks
I mean, from what I've seen on YouTube videos, the device hardware is almost the same in every autocatcher, I would like to know if there is a way to update the firmware so new features can be added to an old go plus or other kind autocatcher available.
I’ve been wondering if I should move onto a new auto catcher from the Gotcha Evolve. It’s not perfect, but it’s served me well. I’ll list some pros and cons.
Pros: Great battery Easy to use app/device Doesn’t break easily
Cons: Just doesn’t work if there’s more than 5 Pokemon around Doesn’t work well on comdays/events Changes all the settings when it gets disconnected Supports only one device Sometimes just randomly does nothing in game, unless I do an action Slow at catching
What device would you recommend me? The biggest problem is definitely the not catching big groups of Pokemon. I’d love one that works consistently well, so if you live somewhere with a lot of spawns, let me know what you use!
Want to do an reset but cant find the manual anymore. Hold five seconds and pressing again five seconds dont help, there was another method. Thank you in advance.
Hi everyone, today I want to do something good for the community and review Duomon 3 auto catcher by Megacom which has been released quite recently. This is going to be my first ever post and hope you all like it. Must clarify that I'm not affiliated with Megacom in any way, I'm just a user who seek for reviews and comments on Reddit whenever I want to buy something that I haven't bought before. Reddit has been quite good to me so I want to return the favours as much as I can with this post. Let's get down to it.
I returned to Pokemon GO in 2022 after playing a few months when it was first launched. Almost a year after that, I decided to buy an auto catcher which I thought it would help me a lot grinding. Long story short, the catchers I've used so far since July 2023 are an imitation of first gen wristband catcher (for a month or two, 36 AUD), Pokemon Go Plus + (almost for a year, 85 AUD prepurchased) and lastly Duomon 3 (for around three weeks, 109 AUD). I will be comparing the latter two as I assume that no one would buy wristband catcher after this point.
My general thoughts on Duomon 3 are quite positive. Compared to Plus +, it’s smaller, you can turn off vibration, you can turn off sound, you can automatically catch new dex entries, it has a very stable connection which basically means that you can turn it on, put it in your pocket, completely forget about it, and the next time you should check your connection is in 1 hour which is the time limit Pokemon GO set. I cannot tell you how much this has relieved me after using Plus + for a year due to having to check if it’s connected from time to time, all that bugging etc. Speaking of which let’s get straight to the point and compare them.
Battery Life & Recharging:
I found battery performance quite similar for both devices maybe D3 is slightly better, however, this is true if I don’t shut D3 down completely. Unless it is shut off, although I disconnect it, it will remain to be ready to fast reconnect on PoGo and keep flashing lights. I reckon if it’s shut off you can increase battery life maybe 25%-50% over Plus +.
2022 Version of Duomon operates on AAA, Duomon 3 however is rechargeable via USB Type-C which evens out with Plus +. It’s been advertised for having wireless charging feature and it comes with a wireless charger (and protective case) if you buy the pro version, however I bought the standard because as long as the device has to be attached to the wireless charger, it makes no difference than wiring it to the charger in my opinion.
Catch Rate and Ball Choice:
Unfortunately, D3 acts as Pokemon Go +, and can only use red balls unlike Plus +. Personally, it would matter not for me as I used to use Plus + with red balls only. I know it’s not the same thing but, if I have to bother myself pressing a button, I might as well play the game (you can judge me). When it comes to catch rate, it is the same for red balls, as it’s programmed in the game and regardless of the device used.
Catch and Spin Rate:
Now this is purely my observation. D3 catches slightly slower than Plus +, say, 15% slower. And to give you and idea, if the catch is successful it takes almost as long as a manual catch (no fast catch trick); if it is not then it quickly jumps to the next pokemon in range without any wait. On the other hand, it spins pokestops almost %50 faster than Plus +, like bang bang bang. At 40km/h it has no issue spinning pokestops unlike the official catcher without a miss. I almost zeroed my balls on Beldum comm day, and it took around 1.5 hours to make over 1000 red balls (auto catch deactivated) constantly riding my bicycle (also depends on the stop density). I haven’t had the chance to test it above 40 km/h but we all know that Plus + fails to spin and, honestly, D3 would probably fail too.
2P Connection and Connection Stability:
Right off the bat, I have to admit that over time, with the secret updates on Plus +, connection has been stabilised way more than before. The last two-three months I could’t believe that it was the same device that I bought a year ago. Huge difference! However, if you believe that it could be better, you’re dang right because D3 doesn’t even lose connection*. Now, what will happen in the long run? I am not sure because D3 is not able to get updates (in my opinion), although, there’s an update button (greyed out) on the phone app, but I don’t think it is for device updates, it should rather be for the app itself. Right now though, coming from my three weeks experience, it does not lose connection except hourly limit that PoGo has. It’s magical! There’s one thing though. I’d love to try it out longer before I tell you this (I could only try for 2 hours or so) but when 2P are connected, it’s disconnected 1 or 2 times. Not being sure why, whether it is because my wife and I went to a place that we didn’t have signal or not, this is the fact. Maybe the device gets under some workload and tend to lose connectivity or something. With that being said, when the device is disconnected no matter if you’re playing 1 or 2P, it says it out. Literally, through the speaker of it, it says “lost connection”, female voice for one player, and male voice for the other so you know which one is disconnected. I would buy D3 only for this feature. No more “oh shoot, it’s been disconnected and I wonder for how long I’ve not been catching pokemon”.
Vibration, Sound and Light:
Unlike Plus +, vibration and sound can be turned on and off via the app. I wouldn’t recommend turning off the sound due to aforementioned reasons, which is more good than bad. Vibration though, off straightaway. No need for soldering or any kind of modding. In terms of light, I don’t think it can be turned off but there’s an option on the app that you can switch between standard and simple. Default option is standard and don’t know how simple is to be honest.
Summary:
I spend pretty much the same amount of time outside with Duomon 3 as I used to when I had Plus + and in overall, I catch more pokemon. This is purely because of the stable connection as the catch rate is the same and it relatively catches slower than Plus +. On top of that, it is completely stealth so I feel like I can finally mind my own business, not having to worry about the connection of my device. Yes, if you buy anything but Plus +, you will sacrifice from being able to use blue and yellow balls, track your sleep and earn extra two hearts for your buddy daily and get exclusive special research every once in a year which rewards you Snorlax with a night cap. However, I think, on a day-to-day basis, Duomon 3 has more benefits for me. I played a gamble buying an expensive third-party device. My plan was ready, I was going to return it with change of my policy if I didn’t like it. It all worked out though and I am happier than I used to be.
I tried to list everything that I could think of and I hope this article can be a help for you. Cheers.
Have anyone tried connecting 2 go plus + on an android phone that can have 2 separate instances of pokemon go?
