In the aftermath of the Second World War, intellectual and political leaders from around the world came together and founded what is now known as the World Federalist Movement. Through the Montreux Declaration, they expressed their conviction that the establishment of a federal world government was necessary to prevent another world war, and that so long as we remain divided, humanity would never know peace.
Although the movement faltered in the decades that followed, the ideas it stood for are more important now than ever before. With COVID-19 having killed more than five million people and greenhouse gas emissions continuing to rise even as the effects of climate change worsen, it is clear that national governments are incapable of dealing with global problems. In order to prevent conflict and solve the issues we face, we need a federal world government.
This subreddit serves as a forum to keep the idea of world federalism alive and support the mission of organizations like the Young World Federalists, which manages r/GlobalTribe.

Ever wondered what people around the world think about the idea of a world government? Do they want one, and if so, what kind? Join us for an exciting webinar where we dive into these questions and explore the future of global governance!
Hosted by: Eston McKeague, President of the Young World Federalists
Our special guests are Dr. Farsan Ghassim (University of Oxford) and Dr. Markus Pauli (Dublin City University), co-authors of the groundbreaking study, “Who on Earth Wants a World Government, What Kind, and Why?”, recently published in International Studies Quarterly. Together, they surveyed over 42,000 people across 17 countries, from the global South, North, East, and West, gathering insights on how people feel about global government — and the findings might surprise you!
Here’s a taste of what you’ll learn:
You’ll get the chance to hear from Dr. Ghassim and Dr. Pauli about the “hopes and fears” that people expressed about world government and how these could shape global governance reforms in the future. This discussion couldn’t be more timely, as today’s youth are inheriting a world that’s increasingly interconnected and facing challenges that know no borders.
Whether you’re already familiar with the idea of a global union or just curious to learn more, this webinar is for you! Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to engage with leading experts and ask your burning questions.

No peep from the guys in the past three years. No amount of Google searching indicates what happened to the team. Which is a shame because listening to their podcast is like a therapy for me :(
I wanna know if a particular agenda item for this year is being discussed or has been discussed or not. But I don't have the time to check the live stream
Last year the general assembly recommended that the right to development special Rapporteurs attend this session and participate to create a legally binding ratifiable instrument on right to development. I wanna know if it's on this session's agenda or not of UNGA. Where do I find it ?
Love for Homeland and World Federation
I consider myself a patriot and [civic] nationalist. I hail from Australia, I love this country very much so as this is my homeland.
However I do recognise the need for a global federation to address dire issues like climate, refugees, hunger, and cooperation can further humanity. I love my country and understand we are part of a greater pan Human whole, plus I believe in freedom of movement. I believe countries should retain both borders and national authority that is similar to states within the US and countries within the EU
Can patriotism be reconciled with a World Federalism or World Unity?
What do you think let me know
I think anyone covering existential threats (the big threats to humanity we are all concerned about...) can and should be making Global Governance more visible. Those are the comment sections and creators we should try to reach.
