The Glastonbury Festival is a five-day festival of contemporary performing arts that takes place in Pilton, Somerset, England.
In addition to music, the festival hosts dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret, and other arts. Leading pop and rock artists have headlined, alongside thousands of others appearing on smaller stages and performance areas.
This is an unofficial fan sub, and is not affliliated to the festival.
We are NOT in any way an OFFICIAL page or affiliated with the festival itself.
Glastonbury Festival is the largest greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world and a template for all the festivals that have come after it. The difference is that Glastonbury has all the best aspects of being at a Festival in one astonishing bundle.
It's like going to another country, a huge tented city, a mini-state under canvas. British law still applies, but the rules of society are a bit different, a little bit freer. Everyone is here to have a wild time in their own way.
This Reddit community is for lovers of The Glastonbury Festival to discuss bands, lineup times, dos and donts, safety issues etc and also to discuss and share photos and their experiences after the festival.
We could even organise annual Redditor meetups at the Festival.

I know this is well-trod territory on this message board, but myself and a friend (from the New York City area) would be interested in forming a purchasing group with other interested parties. We've been lucky enough to go to Glasto multiple times since 2014, but it's been getting tougher and tougher each year to get tix, and our local circle of friends is becoming less interested in festivals (unfathomable to me, since I'd argue Glasto is pretty much the greatest place on Earth), so it'd be great to join forces with like-minded folks on this message board. We're fully registered and very reliable (i.e. we will absolutely not join any other purchasing groups if one takes root, since that could invalidate others' purchases), but we understand there's an element of risk when joining forces with strangers, even when we share a common interest like Glasto. Have others successfully participated in a purchasing group of strangers? If so, were there any steps you'd suggest, in terms of minimizing risk and ensuring trust among the group members? Reach out with any pointers, or if you'd be interested in teaming up with like-minded music fans!
My wife and I have been five times (twice with our daughter) but haven't managed to get tickets for the last 4 years. We don't have any friends who go so it has always just been me and my wife trying for tickets.
2 years ago my wife was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer which she spent 2 years battling and, just when we thought she'd beaten it, her last scans weren't great and has now been told it has come back and she's terminal.
Her last wish is to experience Glasto again but even if she doesn't make it to next summer, she has asked that I spread her ashes there (morbid I know, but I know what a special connection she and we have).
If there are any ticket buying groups who can include us please could you reach out to me? For obvious reasons we can't get coach tickets and are relying on the main sale phase.
I did reach out to the organisers (for which I felt real shame - kind of felt I was trying to turn our devastating misfortune into opportunism) and while they wrote a very sympathetic reply they said they couldn't help us. I'm just so anxious in getting tickets for what will be her last chance to be there.
If anyone does have space for 2 in their ticket buying group please do reach out to chat more.
Hey everyone – me and a mate are looking to join a group of 4 for ticket day to make a full 6 and boost our chances. We’re both registered and ready to go. If you’ve got space, drop me a message. Cheers!
Me and a couple friends are tempted by worthy view this year. Just a question as to what everyone thinks of it? If it’s deemed worth it we might be able to convince some girlfriends to come along hahaha
Looks like the European leg of Tyler’s tour will be over and he’ll be back in the US for Glastonbury.
Would be very happy with a smattering of acts here for Glastonbury.
My best friend and I are planning to try for Glasto tickets this coming year to celebrate our 30th birthday. Appreciate any and all tips - specifically with lodging (we’re interested in staying in a camper). Also - see a lot of chatter about groups on here, please advise :)
First time trying for tickets this year. Be kind, it’s the first I’ve been financially stable enough for it.
Tips, tricks, spells to cast?
Anyway, we need the coach option. Are we better selecting the likes of Edinburgh or Newcastle cos they’re so far out perhaps with less immediate demand? Or just wing it and try for Bristol and other southern points? I’m flying so can go from anywhere in UK. Just wondering if some places are more popular than others. thaaaaanks. ❤️
Had a great time this year managing to get tickets for the first time since 2010 and 2011. People who go every year know something secret. Met loads of people who comfortably say they go every year in a big group.
Friend of mine managed to get tickets for 2024 year by the "hack" which meant he got over 25 tickets. Was awesome because a big group of us all got to go. If it wasn't for the hack then in no way would we have all gone together.
I have heard of stories of people doing everything possible in there group of 6 to get tickets, including getting 4 friends, family to try on there behalf for each person. That's like over 30 people trying for 6 tickets and still no luck.
Is it fair to say that unless you know the "secret" getting tickets is like nearly impossible.
what was your first wow moment at glasto?
Idles had dinghies at Glastonbury, since then a few people have died in dinghies. In retrospect should they have done it?
I will provide further clues if needed
Hi! Me and my partner are going to Glastonbury next month for my 30th birthday and I’d love to be able to go for a walk around the farm but I’m seeing mixed answers online about if you’re able to or not, does anyone know? Thank you 😊
Im looking for a welly that has limited flexibility. A hard sole would help to limit flexibility of the wellie
Any you like?
Social Media is incredibly powerful sometimes. A brand new band from Cardiff called Lady Garden sold out their debut gig using a single landing page and a series of viral videos. One now has over 540k views!

Things have changed so much since the days when bands like Rolling Stones had to fly out music journalists to the Caribbean for free holidays to get coverage!
Last year we treated ourselves to a hired campervan
This year we're broke (thanks first house), so we're back in the trenches with our tent
So instead of spending £1K on a van, we're hoping to spend a couple hundred upgrading our camping setup
Thinking creature comforts & practicality
What else? What would your dream setup be?
West holts headline would be my prediction
Regardless of what you may think about One DIrection and LIam Payne he was only 31!
His life went downhill after that podcast which made him look so cringe.
Very sad news.
As the title says, I (32F) am hoping to go for the first time this year. I’m from the US, so limited on friends who also plan to try to snag tickets.
I’ve tried to join the groups and chats that people have suggested but with no luck. I’d love to connect with a group who is going solo and trying to snag tickets as a group for better chances.
Or, does anyone want to adopt a solo American into their grouping for better chances at tickets?
By any chance does anyone have a download/link of four tet or bonobo’s sets from 2022. Been talking about these non stop to my friend because these both were the BBC sets that made me want to go to Glasto last year but they’re not available on iPlayer anymore.
Playing next year
My current registration is on my mums email and she’s not trying for tickets this year it’s my first Glastonbury I can go unaccompanied so I was just wondering if it was possible and if I should register on my email if it is possible
By ‘the bug’ I mean I have caught the bug !! Last year was my first Glastonbury and I for one cannot wait to go back🤓 Such an a wide selection of artists/genres Everyone is so happy and sound Just an all round great place
Hey guys! I’m hoping that some of you may want to get involved in my upcoming Glastonbury project I am working on!
In short - I want to make a video documenting some of the best stories from Glastonbury, by the fans! These stories can be wild crazy 18+ stories from the south east corner (or anywhere!) or the most wholesome experiences that you have had! I just want to hear Glastonbury stories that have stuck with people over the years! It honestly does not matter to me what the content of the story is, if you have had an experience you want to share at Glastonbury, I want to hear it, and I want to document it!
I have had a great response so far, with about 6 stories sent to me already, and a bunch more in the pipeline!
I would love to create a video montage with a bunch of these stories! You can message me and I will keep you anonymous if you want too, or I can share and credit your details within the video!
If you have any videos or photos from your experience or story, share that with me too!
But I’m happy to work around anyone who wants to be involved, and do it how ever you personally feel comfortable!
The dream would be to get a bunch of voice notes or videos from people telling there stories, add them with your relevant photos and videos, but if you only have a story to tell and no footage that’s fine as well!
Shoot me a message or a comment on here, let’s sort it, and create the best video, by the real fans about the real ‘unheard’ stories from glasto! 🤣
Thank you!!
Looking at getting tickets to a festival for my parents as a Xmas present.
Looking for recommendations for something that is middle-class, and an older crowd. Something along the lines of Glasto and Greenman (sold out).
Please suggest and debate away!
