Hi! I’ve finally been able to move in with my fiancé (in another country which is super exciting). We’ve always dreamt of playing in the same room and now it’s become a reality! We have two desks set up next to each other in an L shape and it’s been really great.

Unfortunately, the gaming room is quite small, meaning we’re close together. This results in our mics picking both of us up, so people on discord and in games hear us twice - obviously not ideal!

Does anyone have experience in a similar situation? I have the Hyper X Quadcast S mic, placed as far away from him as possible. He uses the built-in microphone on his Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro (I have the same headset). We both use Krisp noise cancellation but it doesn’t help much. I know an option is to use push to talk but I really want that to be a last resort!

Please let me know if you have any suggestions or ways to get around this! ☺️

Ever played a game that just feels like all your fantasies and wishes of the "Perfect" game come true?

For me, It's Cyberpunk 2077! Originally suggested by a friend, I never thought I would love the game as much as I do. The sword combat is probably my favorite part of it! The detailed customization, incredible visuals, immersive gameplay and the ability to take photos in different poses in any situation are a close second!

What is a good YouTube series or video of this full game? Either with fun commentary or silent. I really liked watching a playthrough of the first game and didn't know this one was already out.

Hello gaming lovelies! I feel the need to confess that I'm not a gamer, I'm a tech recruiter and I need your help navigating some hardware.

Virtual interviews are my life. I'm looking for a solid headset where the mic is not garbage and, because I'm on camera, would love it if they didn't look like I'm wearing some sort of cyborg head cage.

What I've noticed is that many of the smart noise handling mics on boom-free headsets can't distinguish between my vocal range and ambient noise. I either get drowned out with the background noise or the noise handling just sucks and you hear everything from the ventilation in my office to my neighbours down the hall. The sound tests on rtings.com use a man's tenor to test out noise handling so, like so many products tested only for men, it's not accurate to my recording and sound quality.

Am I SOL and need to get a headset with a boom? Does it make that much of a difference and are there any where I won't look like I'm piloting a plane?

I'm not entirely price sensitive, I was just hoping that someone here would have a gaming headset suggestion that might be below the $250 threshold of the newest Bose or Sony's (which do seem to have better noise handling, but you know...price). Thank you so very much in advance!!

With some recent posts , I'm curious what is your take on when games get banned/not being sold or heavily censored in some countries or when they are too expensive to buy (like 1/3 of a monthly wage) due to poor regional pricing practices?

Personally I don't see the point in banning or not selling the game in a particular country as a response to poor politics simply because of pirating still existing and is likely very common there and people who are being punished don't support the country's politics and have no way to influence it or move from the country. And some countries where the ban spreads clearly have been added to the ban by mistake (several games that are not sold in Russia due to the shitshow are also not sold in the Ukraine).

I also believe the games should have decent regional pricing instead of making games unavailable. There's nothing that stops gamestores to allow you to set the store to the country your card has been issued in (like steam for example) and only allow you to change it once or twice a year provided you have the card issued in the country you are changing it to. Or make keys region locked so they cant be resold as this has been abused previously. Otherwise it just gives people more reasons to pirate games.

Lately I've been on a download spree because I can't find a game I want to sink my teeth into. I'll play something for an evening, think it was alright, then immediately find something else to play the following night.

I can count the number of games I've completed on one hand, and the only games I manage to stick with are MMOs (runescape at 14 years and counting).

Does anyone else share my pain? I'm not sure if it's just a symptom of my depression or if I just haven't found the right game yet.

There's plenty of games I theoretically want to play, but I just can't stick them out for long enough.

I had a fight with my husband tonight and I'm struggling to articulate my side of it exactly, and I'm hoping someone here can help me parse it.

To start, I don't have an issue with sexual/mature content in games in general. My husband and I both play lots of Baldurs Gate 3, and we enjoy talking about it and our experiences romancing different characters, which is a pretty integral part of the game. There are definitely some cut scenes that are... pretty graphic to say the least. Not really my thing, I more enjoy the in- game dialogs, but whatever, it's not like I skip them or try to make him skip them or anything like that.

The thing that bothers me though is that he sometimes takes scenes or situations that aren't sexual, and makes them that way. For example, this whole argument started because I looked over at his screen, he's in camp, and literally every female companion is standing there in her underwear. Like, he had removed their in- game camp outfits. He insists to me that it wasn't on purpose, he was just changing all their armor and trying different builds and stuff but... the box to change armor is completely separate to the box to change clothes. None of the male companions had their outfits changed. It seemed... purposeful? In a way that made me feel really uncomfortable. I'm not sure why it made me so uncomfortable.

Another example is Cyperpunk, which I don't actually play but have watched him play lots of times. He has an in-game romance with this female character, sure, no problem. That game is also pretty graphic with the cut scenes (not my cup of tea but whatever, no problem). But there's a scene where her character is bent over trying to fix a car, fully clothed, not at all a sexual scene. He positions his character behind her and moves the screen back and forth a little so it looks like he's f**** her from behind. Now suddenly I feel very uncomfortable.

I tried having a conversation with him about this, and he got really defensive and mad, and started saying stuff like "so what, am I not allowed to play games with sex scenes? Am I not allowed to watch movies with nudity?" And calling me a hypocrite because i also play BG3 and romance characters and watch rated R movies and all that. I was like no, that's not what this is about, but he says he doesn't get the difference, and I am having a hard time explaining it, even to myself. Something about it bothers me, like he's actively seeking out the sexual gratification instead of it just being a passive part of the game or something? I don't know. AM I crazy?

I kind of feel like it should just be enough that it makes me uncomfortable. Like, I shouldn't have to explain it so much, for him to accept that it bothers me and tone it down. I'm not trying to be some crazy controlling wife, and posts liie this usually get torn apart on places like the relationship advice subreddits. But also we are married, we are in a long term monogamous relationship, I feel like it should be ok for me to have a boundary? To me, it feels like the difference between like, noticing an attractive person walk past you, vs going to an attractive person's Instagram page to look at more pics of them, because they're attractive, if that makes sense. Like yeah we are all human and animals and attraction exists. But even when my husband isn't around I'm not actively seeking out images of other idealized attractive men, yknow? Even fictional ones.

And I also get that they are video game characters and not real people. Which is why romancing and stuff doesn't bother me at all. But this feels different somehow? I don't know. I can't describe it. Maybe I am just crazy and overly insecure or something. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks for reading.

So, recently, I played the entire Mass Effect franchise for the first time. I loved it!

Now, I take romance in games pretty seriously, and in Mass Effect, I ended up being a bit disappointed. Not so much about the quality (Garrus's romance is so, so amazing), but it felt like the game's romance system was heavily skewed in MaleShep's favor. He had more unique love interests by ME3, was able to defend himself in the >!cheating debacle with Ashley!< (something FemShep straight up couldn't do), and all of his companions felt a lot more fleshed out overall.

However, I did really love Mass Effect as a whole, and playing them made me want to try Dragon Age. Probably Inquisitions, since what I've read has lead me to believe that one has the most fleshed-out romances (if I'm wrong, please correct me!) But, I'm reallly scared of being disappointed again.

So, please, can somebody tell me if the Female romances in Dragon Age are more satisfying than those in Mass Effect?

I love them. There are some really good stories like What Remains of Edith Finch, Firewatch, The Stanley Parable. I saw there's a new one called Pools coming out which looks like my thing, and a lot of the comments are hating on it for not being enough of a game. I feel like you either love or hate walking simulators.

Im facing quite the predicament and Im anxious as hell over it. Due to my interests and environment, I am more involved in male dominated spaces so I generally have more guy friends than women friends. I love gaming after a stressful day, so naturally i get online with my mates when im free to game.

For the first case, a classmate fell in love with me after I was his monster hunter duo for less than a month. Note: I am a gay girl. I wasnt obligated to tell him my sexuality that hes not my preferred gender but i told him in hopes it would hurt less for him. Regardless, he kept on pursuing me and would be clingy as fuck. In the end i told him bluntly that I will only play MHW when i think he have moved on. He never tried after that. This is very recent.

The second case happened a day ago. Another guy friend confessed quickly to me that he likes me during an Apex match. We were joking around and asking which character is gay, so I say hes gay (hes not, its just a joke) He said "no, I like you" quickly. My another guyfriend on the team didn't hear it bc it was very easy to miss, but i heard it 😭

I dont think i will tell him my sexuality because hes not an ally, makes some questionable homophobic statements and dislikes the ridiculous woke debates on twitter. Normal phenomenon because i live in a developing conservative country where young people are centrists (either leaning left or right)

I didnt acknowledge that, I was stunned and tried to remain casual and focus on the game strategy. Do you guys think I should approach the 2nd dude that i have heard his confession and tell him that I wasnt interested? Or do i just let it slide. I'm genuinely stressing over this.

A few hours ago i was also questioning my own sexuality because I do like this dude, but then I realised I have a platonic fondness for him. I dont want to do any couply stuff with the guy. Mine was Days Gone. I didn't care for it from trailers but decided to give it a try since it was free and I had nothing else to play. Ended up having so much fun with it. The story is okay but the gameplay is really enjoyable.
