Hi Georgetown folks! I'm a college student from the Midwest, going to be doing a spring co-op at a company in Alexandria. I'm looking for a sublease from January to roughly May or June.
A bit about me: 20 y/o guy, looking at a budget of about $1000 a month or less.
I’m not sure who to ask about this because I haven’t gotten any responses on r/ApplyingToCollege, probably because it is a pretty specific question.
Anyways, I’ve done well on all of my AP tests besides Physics 1, which I got a 2 on. I want to send my official report to Georgetown as I think it would benefit my application. However, according to College Board, the deadline to withhold your score is June 15th of the year that you took the exam, meaning that I missed the deadline. Is there any way to send my other scores to Georgetown without sending my Physics score? I apologize if this post goes against the rules, but I thought that maybe students at Georgetown would have an answer. Thanks in advance!
Hey all! I currently work in the national security space and have applied to both programs and am planning on doing one of them online. I have been accepted to Georgetown and am waiting to hear from JHU. I would really value input from anyone with experience with either of these programs or insight into whether one is more well-regarded in the industry. Something else that may be worthy of note is that I work in a tech centered field so any insight into which is better for SIGINT or CTI would be valuable. Thanks in advance!
Hello, I have to take an intro class for the Theology core requirements. Since I do not have any prior knowledge for bible, I don’t want the class to be overwhelming.
For those who took classes already, do you recommend Intro to Biblical Literature or The Problem of God as beginner?? Or any other easy theology classes between level 1000-2000?
Thank you!!
As the title says. I submitted my application 2 weeks ago but haven’t heard anything back for an interview invite? Does anyone know? Thank you
I’m applying EA to Georgetown and I’m struggling with the special talents question. Is it meant to be a fleshed out essay or a detailed list? The prompt specifically says elaborate and I’m unsure if that means an essay. If someone could help me out that would be great!
Here's "Mental food" a carefully curated playlist regularly updated with soothing gems of downtempo, chill electronica, deep, hypnotic and atmospheric electronic musics. The ideal backdrop for concentration and relaxation. Perfect for staying focused during my study sessions or relaxing after work.

As the title reads. I noticed that it's an almost brand-new major, and I haven't been able to find much online about it outside of the official Georgetown website. Is anyone in the program or know anyone in the program? What's it like? How selective is it?
I’ve just finished my essays for Georgetown and was wondering if anyone could mention anything unique or obscure about Georgetown that could be included? I’m not trying to freeload or anything, i’ve done my research and included that but I feel like there are definitely some things i’ve missed. Thanks!
Hey, guys! I'm a prospective student applying this season and want to learn a bit from your experiences on why Georgetown was a fit for you and see if I can get some inspiration to finish writing my essays. What are the things that make it a unique environment? Are there unconventional things you didn't expect to see that surprised you in a good way? I specifically want to study at the SFS, so if you have some insights on what it's like to be a student there, I would highly appreciate it. Thanks!!
My son (UK based) has the opportunity to attend a U.S college for two semesters next year. Georgetown is one of the options and is an instantly recognisable name in the UK.
Other options include British Columbia, Michigan, Georgia, Pitt, Boulder, UCLA and Purdue. He's been to D.C before and loved it, so Georgetown seems the natural option but in researching it it comes across as very academic and, well, serious.
He is above average academically and I doubt he'd struggle with workload but this is a once in a lifetime opportunity so we're keen he enjoys it and sees the country, not just the inside of a library. Is there a lighter side to Georgetown or should he choose a less academically rigorous institution?
I’m an incoming spring transfer and I really wanted to meet people who were into songwriting/producing since I recently got into it. Does anyone know where I could find people like that on campus?
Hi I'm a junior trying to find out more about Georgetown! I haven't been able to see the campus and I am trying to get a feel for the campus vibe, activities with friends of campus and on campus, events, food, dorm rooms and anything else you'd tell me
Thank you so much for the help!
Hello! My name is Sarah Silberman, I am a Criminology and Criminal Justice Doctoral Candidate at the University of Maryland who researches sexual violence, and I am currently recruiting for an interview study on sexual misconduct in academia. For IRB approval, please see see my department page here: https://ccjs.umd.edu/gradprofile/silberman/sarah. The goal of this study is to better understand the impact of academic sexual misconduct on graduate students in the greater-Washington DC (USA) area. This study is seeking diverse voices on this topic, and I am hoping to speak with people who are currently in academia, those who are planning on leaving, and those who have already left.
If you or someone you know who experienced academic sexual misconduct: 1) as a graduate student 2) in the greater-Washington DC area 3) between 2011 and now and 4) is interested in participating in a 1.5 - 2 hour interview, please fill out the interest form here: tinyurl.com/asmneardc
Hi everybody!
I’m so confused about the interview part of the process. I submitted my application for the priority deadline and since then I’ve been trying to find information online on how to prepare for the interview, but there is none. Only for undergraduate but I reckon the differences in questions is big. I just want to know how to prepare, could anyone who has been through the interview process for the business school masters please let me know what to expect? Thank you guys!
I'm in the process of applying here, and I'm confused on the letters of recommendation part. At the top of the page in the directions, it says that only one teacher letter is required, with one being optional. However, at the bottom it says that there are four possible? How many teacher recommendations are actually required?
I am a Finance major currently and am planning to transfer to Georgetown in the spring. What is a better program at Georgetown Econ or comp sci? Which one is easier? What will help me most out of college (IB)? I mostly want to know how hard each of these majors are and their reputations. Is there grade inflation/deflation?
I’m going to be applying this fall for finance major. I was wondering what it’s like and class rigor. How professors are and also how competitive it is. Thank you!!
I have to sign up for an interview within the next week. Quite nervous I’m not sure what to expect.
Should I bring a resume with me? If so, should I bring my extended resume or just a regular 2-page resume?
I’m a Senior in High School currently, just did my interview a few days ago. I’m really interested in pursuing Patent Law and I feel that if I majored in Chemistry + some Pre-Law stuff I would be on the right track. I’m interested in pursuing my PhD after Grad School, or doing a JD/PhD dual program. Can anyone attest to the rigor + research opportunities provided in the Chemistry program? And also, if Georgetown would be a good fit for me? Thanks so much.
Hi! Just wondering if I’m supposed to complete my interview by the November 1st deadline? I was considering doing EA but I haven’t even submitted my 1st step yet so idk it’s even possible at this point if the deadline is the same
Does anyone know anything about the legitimacy of Georgetown's MA in Democracy and Governance? I'm worried it may just be a cash cow for PhD programs. Many professors are missing fully fleshed-out profiles. Research done by said professors seems to be missing strategic areas- i.e. European democracy- which is strange... Not to be a snob, but I also noticed many don't have PhDs, which would be great if these individuals are industry professionals, but it still makes me suspect. Any information would be appreciated (for context, I'm interested in democratic erosion in East/Central Europe).
If anyone is passionate about environmental justice especially in DC lmk if you would be available for a short interview about the organization Empower DC. I need to write an essay and I need an interview by Thursday. If anyone is available, looking for current students, alumni, or even faculty that will help me. Any help would be great.
Hey everyone. I’m wondering if anyone here has experience with the program or the campus itself. I’ve heard great things about Georgetown's main campus in DC, but I’m not sure what to expect from the Doha campus in terms of academic quality, student life, and opportunities post-graduation.
Would you recommend taking a full ride for Doha as an American student? How does it compare to studying in DC? I heard you can study abroad in dc for a full academic year, would you be able to push it and do two?
