I have been struggling to get my car connected. it's been 2 months.
in the dealer twice
Reset 100 times.
They are saying that connected services are their own entity- and won't fix it.
I'm thinking if you get a cell from Att and you get it connected, you're gunna be pissed
Yes, its kind of a dumb ask but I want to hear why its not worth the 5k + tax.
go!
First time posting on here, I use to own a 2017 G90, sold it since I dont necessarily need a car at the moment -- but one thing I didnt like was having to pay for remote start, and the bluetooth for iPhones, in my experience, intermittently cut out.
Are there only models where remote start is part of the car package without a subscription?
Another question, is there one with apply carplay or android carplay [Not wired]?
Looking into them, from your personal experiences and research, what model year was more reliable and durable?
Hi- so i go to leave my house in my 2016 automatic genesis sedan 140k miles and i notice my heat isn’t working car wasn’t overheating so i make it to the store and check my coolant is bone dry. I fill up the coolant wait a bit and go to drive but then it goes into the red again really fast and heat still isn’t working. I have no lights on. no leak from what im noticing so far coolant resuivar is still full. (i’m still kinda new to the whole thing- This is my second car, so sorry if this was a bad explanation.) any suggestions please :(
Not sure what to do. I love everything about the car... except the engine. The engine rattles and the transmission is touchy and might be possessed - it revs high or sticks and I have to put into N or P to re-engage it. Plus, went on a 5-hr road trip, by the time pulled into the driveway, the engine was rattling really loud and sounded like it was going to explode. This car does not ride smooth or purr like a kitten. I keep my oil changes current and use premium gas.... and let's not forget that the car is only a freakin' 2023. Any one have these issues?

Im about to buy to GV80 and Im not sure I like the 27” dashboard. I kind of like the GV70 dashboard better. Anyone with a 2025 can share your thoughts?
Good Morning Genesis owners! I have a 2021 GV80 Adv+ and recently a local dealer called me with an offer for me to upgrade to the latest model GV80 at no additional cost to me (reportedly the offer comes from Genesis Motors). I have about 18 payments remaining on the finance and they said that the remaining balance and number of payments will remain unchanged. This does not make sense to me that Genesis will buy my 3 year old car and replace it with the latest one with no cost to me. Anyone else has received similar offer? What are your thoughts? What is the catch?

I had the oil tube recall fixed back in July, and I got the "engine overheated" warning as I was driving out of the dealership. Went back. I was told that air got trapped in the coolant system and threw the temperature gauge off. A few months later, I started noticing that wipers would occasionally activate randomly, and shortly after, I would get an engine overheated warning (the gauge goes all the way up). I usually stop out of precaution, wait a few minutes and continue driving -- the warning stays on and then disappears. Happened several times in the past 3 weeks. Has anyone experienced/seen anything like this? Is the engine actually overheating or is it computer/gauge malfunctioning?
I have an appointment for another recall in mid-December (Genesis service wait times are ridiculous). I would like to wait until then.
Purchased my GV80 2 years ago. At the time the (multiple) dealers I talked to assured me the digital key app would be released for my GV80 on iphone eventually "although it may take a bit". One of the dealers even had a printout listing features that would be added to the model I was purchasing in the future (wireless carplay has finally shown up so that was actually pretty cool and a surprise).
From all the research I've done it looks like digital key is out on iphone but it's the "digital key 2" it doesn't cover the GV80, and it sounds like it's actually based on newer hardware on the cars so it won't ever be backwards compatible with older models. Anyone know if that's accurate? Or if genesis has actually confirmed anywhere how this is going to work/which models will get iphone support?
Don't get me wrong, I didn't base my purchasing decision on the word of the dealer. I saw the digital key as a nice bonus. I'm taking the car in to get serviced here shortly, and if it's confirmed digital key 2 / iphone compatibility will never cover the older GV80's I fully intend to give the salesperson / manager who sold me the car a polite amount of shit for it.
Anyone know a good scan tool for gv70 ?
Is it normal? Why do we have 2 identifications ways?
I test drove a 22 GV70 and loved the handling and the car. But at high speed 70-80mph wind noise outside the car was loud. Is this normal? If nit, does anyone have an explanation?
I am looking at a used '23 G80 Electrified near me. 3,500 miles and history shows it as a corporate fleet vehicle in CA. Listed at about $45,500. Seems like a great value, but the thing has been for sale at this same Genesis dealer since September of 2023, almost 14 months.
Seems like a red flag? What am I missing?
I used to have a CRV, it was perfect for driving across a field to get to my horse's remote pasture.
Now I'm really attracted to these GV's (especiall GV80), and I know it's probably fine for not-too-harsh off-roading, but it's just so shiny and pretty & LUX. (Part of what I like about it- bones getting older, could use some softness in my life).
I may keep horse supplies and tack in the truck. Will definitely drive it to my barn on a mountain (need the AWD for that). Entering the barn property everything gets dusty! Does this use seem sacrilegious for such a pretty car? Can it stand up to it?
Does anyone use this car for the more utility type stuff? I will probably keep horse tack and tools in the trunk, and definitely drive it over a mountain to my horse barn. It WILL get dusty! Would this seem to be improper use for a luxury car?
I would like to De-badge the lower portion of the trunk on both the left and right side.
Any one have any guidance on how to do it? Is it easy to do by yourself?
Any photos of what the end result might look like would be appreciated.
Im looking to buy this used vehicle and was wondering what you all think? It had a minor accident 2 years ago, aside from that its in great condition.
I took my Genesis in for service and they had it in there for about 6 months. I finally get my car back and notice 1000 miles got added onto to it. This isn't normal and how do I go about this? I need some help because this is unacceptable
Getting my grille redone and just got my headlights polished and PPF'ed. Gotta keep the first Gen Genesis looking fresh. I'll get some pics with my G70 once my wheels for that car come back from powdercoating.
Just thought I'd post a work in progress pic for those of you with the OG cars.
When driving a Genesis, remember that it started with a leap of faith from Hyundai. From designing a new V8 for it, contracting ZF for the transmission(RR phantom, Maserati Quartroporte, Bentley Continental GT, BMW 7 series) and Lexicon(First non Rolls Royce car to get a Lexicon sound system) to selling it as the most expensive Hyundai ever made. This car and the Genesis brand were two massive risks that Hyundai took that were not guaranteed to succeed.
Wife is looking for the 2025 GV80 green (not matte) with the white interior. There were two that got sold right from under us which was frustrating. Nobody's fault but our own for not pulling the trigger fast enough. We keep looking at the Genesis USA website for inventory to see when the next batch will come in. We are looking within a 250 mile radius but we'd like to use our sales guy if possible, just because of the time he spent with us.
Here's my question: how frequently are the new batches released?
Venting. TWO outstanding recalls on my 2018 G80 Sport, since 3/24. Made an appointment in June to finally get ONE (Oil Leak May Cause Fire) fixed in mid August. Checked before the 8/15 appointment to see if the second recall repair (Solenoid Short May Cause Fire) could be done and they said yes. Five hours later I get a call saying they actually didn't have the parts.
So I'm still waiting till yesterday when after a short drive to vote, smoke started pouring out of the "left turbo oil filler feed line" area just as the recall predicted. So now I wait to be towed to the dealer, glad that a fire didn't actually occur. (Pic of car, not on fire for reference)
Hi friends, I’m thinking about purchasing a used 2022 GV60 with 318 hp. I’d really appreciate your thoughts on this model. I’ve come across some reports about charging issues and rear axle problems, though I'm unsure if they apply to the 2022 318 hp version. Any insights would be helpful. Thanks!
