To those in search of geedis, keep searching, it is possible. Whether you buy it online for 800$ or find it in a store it is possible. Hail Geedis. Also, it’s much smaller than anticipated but still a piece to cherish.
Fellow geeders, i have done it, it costed me an arm and a leg but i was determined to get my hands on one. All hail geedis. P.s. what do ya’ll think about the authenticity of this one?
Does anyone have a geedis pin for sale? It seems like so many people have found them but me. It’s been so important to me for years to find one, there are many fake pins and scammers. Am i crying in the rain on this? Or is there a possible way to still find/buy one? It is a life mission of mine. Hail Geedis.
I was just looking at these photos again and noticed something I haven’t seen discussed. While the colors of these match the original pin found, the mold itself is actually from the second variation found. I believe this means that there are actually 3 known pin variants, and seems to add legitimately to the second variation being vintage as well. What do you all think? Sorry if this has been brought up before. https://www.reddit.com/r/Geedis/comments/ri1c5z/we_found_2_original_geedis_pins_hidden_away_in_a/
I found this patch on eBay listed simply as “critter”. It looks like a mix between Garfield and a dinosaur but I can’t find any information on him. Sorry if this isn’t posted in the right sub, but I figured the geeders might be able to help track down information on another odd looking fellow. Thanks!
Hi All, I put the Geedis Zazzle account on hold for the moment, as it was getting very little traffic. I'm going to rethink what I'd like to do with the Land of Ta art and will update with any new news. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any requests or questions. Thanks!
Hi everyone! I am finishing up preparing, uploading and creating a merch store for my dad, Sam Petrucci's, Land of Ta Art! I know it has been a while, and I'm not sure if there is any interest for this anymore, but I finally had the time and space to do this project. So please, check out the Zazzle store! I created a bunch of different products, but if there is something special you would like and don't see, please let me know. I have all of the Land of Ta characters digitized now. I welcome your feedback! There is a lot more art that I will be rolling out over time as well. Thank you! -Linda

I was browsing eBay a couple of days ago, looking for any type of pin similar to Geedis, Zoltan, and Tammy. In one vintage pin lot, there’s an “Uppsala” pin.
The fictional cat’s name is “Pelle Svanslös,” and he lives in Uppsala, Sweden.
Could the pin design be all one major coincidence, or would this bring us one step closer to finding the manufacturer in any way? It’s just something to think about.
I discovered this Reddit thanks to "amazing" or something like that. I loved Mysterio, currently I am very outdated
Welcome to my Ta-vern! I have invented a delicious cocktail inspired by Geedis. One shot each of strawberry gin, peach schnapps, and sweet and sour mix. The bottles capture his color scheme perfectly (pink, brown, and greenish yellow), and it is very tasty and refreshing!
I call it Geetorade!
I still think it would be so interesting to solve the mystery of “who had these pins made and why?”
I recall that there were 2 decent leads and I don’t think anyone followed up on them. (1) The former owner of Peenware is easy to google and find contact info for (2) Someone on this sub found a LinkedIn profile of a graphic designer who lists Peenware as a former employer.
I think the hardest part would be approaching these people in the right way so they didn’t think whoever contacted was a total crazy person. Lol. Perhaps picking the best Geedis explanation video and leading with that would be helpful.
I wonder if a podcast like r/underunderstood would want to tackle this? They’ve done some similar esoteric deep dives. (The u/endless_thread podcast deep dive was fantastic. But I’m not sure if they would do another deep dive into geedis.)
I found out about Geedis on Reddit and I haven't watched any videos about it or anything but the first things I thought about were:
WHERE ARE THE ACTION FIGURERS?: Super 7? Somebody should be making these!
WHERE IS A SWITCH E-SHOP GAME? : Lets see one in the style of a classic Hack n Slash!
WHERE ARE THE COLORING BOOKS?: I had a Dungeons & Dragons coloring book when I was a little kid and I had no idea what D&D was, which kind of reminds me of the confusion of Geedis.
There is so much that can be done with this little sticker universe! I'm glad and I found it and sorry if this has all been brought up before.
Anyone wanna sell their Geedis pin? More specifically to me? plslplsplslplsplsplsplsplspls Geeediss fuckk ohhggg
I wont go into the details im sure you've seen it everywhere. Our community is small and it likely wont be noticed but we are in the top 5% of subs.
Via rule 2 we stay out of politics and relgious debate but i feel this sits outside of those things and this is something effecting how we all interact with each other. Geeders support each other i want no one left out!
What do we think Geeders? Do we go private and stand shoulder to shoulder with the other subs or do we stay up? The will of the community will dictate things here as always. Feel free to express your thoughts but please keeps it r/geedis style and no bad energy here. Love you guys!
Edit:
The vote seems very much in favor of going dark. So we are going private ASAP. If this changes we will adjust but the community is speaking loud and clear here.
Hi everyone. Sure, I heard about the sticker sheets, and the origin of the pins as derivative from them, but... due to my study of Comparative Mythology, something about all of this struck my eye, and, in my opinion, I do not think that the quest for Geedis and the Land of Ta should be over just yet. Although we now know who drew the characters for the sheets, I have to feel that there's more to them than simply some random drawings with no real story behind them. Let me give you a few examples:
The original drawings mention a "Fantasy Land", later changed to "Land of Ta Erik" in the sheets. Since one of the characters in the "Geedis" sheet was named Erik himself, this cannot be just a coincidence, and may indicate he was the hero of "something" in a product with a name that wasn't finalized yet!
If you've seen similar sticker sheets from other series in the past, usually they have both "good" and "bad" characters in them. Zoltan clearly looks like a bad one.
Geedis has the classic look of a comic relief character.
There is some kind of intentional lore behind these drawings. Compare, for example, the drawings of Iggy and Sybil, and you'll see they have a staff with a small dragon around it, which, in western cultures, is usually a symbol of wisdom, or mystical knowledge.
Erik and Stefan are clearly nordic names, indicating some kind of relationship between them. Since the first has an eagle in his staff, but the second a dragon, this may indicate the latter as some kind of authority figure over the former. They are also somewhat similar to Radon, but notice his slightly different colour, which may indicate "something" unusual about him.
The character of Cecily seems to have a being very similar to Eris (i.e. the name of the Ancient Greek goddess of discord), from sheet 2, around her. Coincidence?
Uno has a single eye, an idea conveyed in its name, since it seems to be a kind of small cyclops. This shows the names are not random, some thought was given to them.
All the characters have names. If this was just a random sheet of completely random stickers, why bother naming them at all, even more since - as I showed above - some of the names were well-thought? Most sticker sheets don't have those at all, the audience is expected to recognize them by their looks alone, which may indicate they originally came from some non-visual source, such as a book (as opposed to a cartoon), potentially one translated from another language and in which the characters may have been renamed for a US audience.
The first two sheets have (C)1981, while the third has (C)1982. If this was simply some drawings with no significant usage, why would they go and publish one more afterwards, without any real intent to ever use them?
Is anyone else still thinking about this, or trying to look for something more about Geedis and the Land of Ta, or is this whole search essentially closed now and nobody is looking for anything else?
In some of the original "my pet monster" images he looks even more Geedis-like.
Timestamp is 4:15, he gives an honorable mention to "Scrunt" and shows pictures of Geedis merch
