I bought a hispeedido V5 drop in IPS screen from Aliexpress for my agb-001. Cleaned GBA and installed the V5 screen. Had issues with the touchpads going off so I desoldered the touchpad cables off. Just wanted to try it out with no touch pads and no extra soldering but ran into issues. Trying to use my ezflash omega gba cart and everdrive gb x7 with it.
The B button is repeatedly activating. if I hold the B button it stops activating and I can navigate menu/enter game
The brightness is changing often and seems to change with button presses.
And the flash carts are crashing very often.
Is something shorting? Is it the flash carts drawing too much power? Cleaned the board well and put kapton tape on the new board but at a loss now. No og carts to test on either.
So I recently found my childhood Game Boy SP, but the screens look pretty funky anyone know what this is and if it’s fixable not very tech smart
'Sup everyone? So lately my left thumb has been a bit jank, so the most intense games I can play on a handheld these days are, like, rpgs and more casual titles, games that don't got a lot of quick movement.
I know this might be a weird ass question, but what are some of of y'alls favorite chill games to play on the GBA?
With the gba emulator on the switch, and other emulators running rampant, do you think that gba games will end up dropping in value, or continue to increase?

For an example if i bought a second hand cartridge would the data from the previous owner still be there on my system or saved onto his system?
I installed a ips v2 screen on a gba sp 001 with no soldering after a couple of gaming hours the screen brightness turned off I recharged the battery to full but the screen is still dark any idea why is this happening ?
I have a new old stock one for sale on my ebay store right now
My gba since I have purchased it about 7 years ago randomly powers off when I play games. I know it’s not a battery issue I replaced it and has a charge but if I press a button near the power switch I think it’s pushing down a cable or something to power it off. Or the horrible position of the switch where my hand is I noticed a small contact on the on off switch if it moves also powers it off.
I have never opened the unit up before so if there is a YouTube guide that is recommended for this let me know please
I'm trying to find a way to play a linked multiplayer game on a GBA emulator where the emulator can have multiple windows on separate monitors. I want the sound from each window to come out of its respective monitor.
I've checked VBA Link (only one window has sound), mGBA (both sounds must come out of the same monitor), and No$GBA (the windows cannot be split at all). I've used the program "Audio Router" to assign sounds to monitors on other systems' emulators, but cannot find a solution for GBA.
What are the best games you’d recommend me to buy on the GBA. Nothing Pokémon, I already have it all haha.
Problem with the LED
So I bought this GBA SP ags-001. I tried to return it because of broken LED light, but the seller refused. So anyone has any ideas on how to fix this? I tried cleaning the contacts on power switch, and it didn’t help at all. When turning off, the LED flashes for a second red. But it won’t illuminate as it should, green or red, no matter how much I charge the battery it doesn’t work. Recorded it, and paused on a frame where you can see the flash. When it’s in the shell, it’s so dim you can’t see it. Any advice?
I recently bought the shell from Amazon. The buttons i got from a retro gaming store that sold Gameboy buttons. I'm absolutely in love with how it came out. I don't really have plans on upgrading any of the insides tho. I'm cool with keeping the screen original!
So I just Bought a Advance SP, its working nice however, when I charge it the orange light goes on but eventually goes off like after 15 min charging and obviuslly its not fully charged because after playing 1 hours or so the red light goes on. What should I do? any insights :) thanks
Hello. I want to sell a bunch of my Pokémon GBA games to CEX but they need the batteries replaced, does anyone have a link to where I can buy them in the UK, cheers!
Does anyone know how to unlock the rest of the minigames in Need for Speed Underground 2 outside of Engine Tuning? I unlocked all the cars, modifications and such, but not the rest of the minigames..
just missing fire red and my collection will be complete. really wish these didn't cost what they do nowadays but nostalgia hits when it hits 🤣
I don't want to lose the original feel, and for that there's nothing like an original AGS-101, right? TFT screens are less sharp and their shells are horrible.
Hello! This is my first time replacing a GBA, so I just wanted to check if all of these components are compatible with each other and if I need anything else. I plan to use the existing screen, so please let me know if that will work. If not, are there any options that don’t require soldering?
