I just saw a seperate post from an associate that is fed up with a related issue but i didn't want to hijack their thread.
I went to 3 gamestops today while driving home from thanksgiving weekend to take advantage of black friday buy 2 get 1 and i always try to buy a few warranties for the associate's metrics and at 1 store i asked to protect 2 games and after they had added 4, i had to ask them to remove 2.
I just got home and the OTHER 2 stores i had asked to protect the 4 cheapest games and both stores added more than 4. (one store protected 5, one store protected 6). I'm not going to return them because i've been told it counts against the store doing the return (the people at my local gamestop are really nice) and i'm not going to drive back out of state just to make a point. (plus we're only talking an extra 6 bucks) Should i call the store to say something? does that actually do anything? I don't really care about the few dollars but it pisses me off that dudes are just adding things to your order that you explicityly didn't want.
So I've been trying for weeks now and could never get the damn activation email, and my emails to support were never responded to either. After another round of failures today on multiple browsers I turned on a VPN with low expectations and what do you know, I got the email within seconds. It really shouldn't have made a difference because I used a local server but apparently it made all the difference.
So yeah, if you're having problems activating your pro account (or resetting your password) try using a VPN instead of being forced to create a new account by support.
Is it possible for me to call and ask when the PlayStation 5 disk drive will be restocked
In this new store I work most of the time solo, so I have to shut down the store for my 30min. I usually put the sign n front the door and I spend my lunch inside my car, my car is park right in front the entrance (so I can check that nobody mess with my car).. well I have a couple customers knocking my window while I’m inside my car and just asking me stupid questions like if I have a ps5 and how much, pissing me off because they already know I work there so they know is my car. I didn’t respond none of those questions or even open the window. But I also have a few customers trying multiple times to open the door or keep knocking the door as soon they see I am in the store while I’m counting money, like brother cmon.
I never typically pre-order toys from GameStop but I’m just confused. If I pre-ordered something shouldn’t that mean that I’m guaranteed that item? I’m kind of unsure what “ awaiting product availability” actually means. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Hi , so this is my first time ever posting on Reddit but I am a GameStop employee and sorry for this being so long i just really need help as I’m really conflicted about my job this is a lot of drama so if you recognize me hi and sorry lol . I (f 20 ) have been working at GameStop for almost a year (next week is one year anniversary ) as my first job, I started last year at the holiday season (as an SGA/RK ) and had to work at 2 stores ran by one SL and was barely trained and not properly taught stuff and screamed at and hit/slapped by one coworker for not doing things right towards their standards. (they still somehow work for GameStop but I don’t work with them anymore ) and I didn’t know how to do half of the stuff we need to do everyday for around 6/7 months of that until a new manager showed up and then I began to work at only one store , I didn’t have to do counts or do deposit runs until then because only the asl had been doing them for both stores which that must of been hell ,since then I’ve had multiple issues with new management my first interaction with the newer SL was that me and my other (sga/rk ) coworker (only us two working at that store as everyone else left) was that we had to fill out a form of what times we’d prefer to work, i extremely prefer opening vs closing as we work in a extremely sketchy area and I drive myself while my coworker(who we’ll call R) has their family pick them up ,they don’t have a car/drivers license and they prefer to work closing shifts and their family also has more availability to pick them up then, I had to do multiple solo coverage clopens because we were so extremely short staffed for 3ish months during the summer being only me and R working . We became extremely burnt out and mentally drained and tempted to quit until they finally hired someone else in October (we will call him M), also to mention this is also the first time the new SL is managing 2 stores and I don’t think that they can handle both stores at once. And we also didn’t have an ASL for 6 months .Me and R have been working our butts off and basically being ASL’s while only being paid like SGA/RK’s , ive been the only one taking the deposit despite SL and M having cars yet I get chewed out for not taking them even though they also have the ability , I am not gonna risk my safety when it’s dark out and take 4-5 deposits to Walmart where I almost got pickpocketed during my first deposit run. I have also been screamed at ,customers have , stalked ,threatened, almost gotten attacked and robbed by customers , Karen’s , people who were definitely on something, and homeless people who are constantly outside the store (had to call the non emergency line as two drugged up homeless people were sitting in front of the store participating in said drugs and tweaking out while I was trying to open the store and also one time this old couple (60+ years old) who just don’t buy anything just loiter and make me and R uncomfortable by asking insanely invasive questions were asking me during solo coverage when id close and if I’m closing alone and what I’m doing after and it felt as if they were gonna kidnap me or something crazy) . And I also really hate that I could sell really good on everything else but because someone doesn’t have enough money to get the gpg or prp and doesn’t wanna get the pro then it’s as if I did nothing at all that day and get talked down for it . I also had a really uncomfortable encounter with tech support that sounded like he was doing something inappropriate on the other end which has me anxious whenever I call tech support from now on . And me and R have been the only ones doing all the counts for our store even though we have them assigned to everyone equally they never do it only us and we have to pick up on their slack and our SL always promises to have our schedule 2 weeks out but doesn’t finish it until the day or 2 before it’s that week of the schedule , and I asked for a doctors appointment to have the day off that day about a month ahead and he schedules me for that day so I still had to work that day but had to lose hours and come in after the appointment instead of rescheduling me for a different day. Anyways to more current events , I’ve asked for a monetary raise cause my parents said I should ask for one since I’ve worked there a while , I figured I wouldn’t get one with the way the company is structured but figured I’d shoot my shot and the SL said “only if you get more pro cards” which just feels awful cause no one wants them at all even though I’m trying to sell them on it the best I can and trying my hardest and selling 1-6 per day but it still doesn’t matter I guess. And the past 3-4 weeks I’ve been only closing and no openings at all even though Ive told my SL I’d rather open than close as I feel unsafe from all the situations that have happened . I’ve been helping train the new ASL cause he doesn’t know anything (he’s nice but like oh my god he isn’t good at sales or keeping big things like consoles or new games off the front counter where anyone could grab them ) , and recently my hours have been cut from 25- 28 hours to only working 10 hours this week and 16 hours next week , and then on Black Friday my SL scheduled me to close at 9 (solo ofc cause why not schedule the one person who said she doesn’t feel safe closing alone at night to work one of the busiest nights by herself for 2 ish hours when the crazier people come in ) . And then around one hour before we thought we were supposed to close My boss (who was supposed to leave over an hour before) was in the back room doing god knows what and someone stole some shit under his shirt and ran out and then I asked my boss to check cameras cause I couldn’t tell if the guy did take something or was just odd(the guy did steal) and then my boss goes “hey , we are actually open till 10 tonight alright? See ya later , sorry, you can have my leftover 3 pizza slices from my lunch“ and then he clocks out and leaves , I’m just sitting there in shock trying not to sob or have a panic attack cause I was already extremely overwhelmed from our systems shutting down and customers screaming and yelling at us earlier in the day and screaming children and people who don’t know how to treat retail workers and I just wanted to go home and relax and yet I couldn’t cause my SL couldn’t read the hours we were supposed to stay open till when making the schedule , I had to stay till 10(technically 10:50 cause I had to actually close everything up while trying not to break down and also fix up the massive Black Friday deposit . I’ve also asked before several times that I prefer opening instead of closing cause of the crazy stuff but then the SL says “I have to make it fair for everyone “ but I’m just asking for a few opening shifts not to only have opens . I am just so drained, tired, confused and unhappy , I love this job when it isn’t all the crazy stuff happening but I seriously don’t know if I should say and wait it out or if I should just leave . This is all probably a word jumble cause I’m writing this all in the moment and upset but I just need advice, also sorry for weird format or spelling/ grammar errors I'm on mobile and also typing this without my glasses on. I hate those customers more than the Karens. The Karens also might not care about our metrics, but they also don't really know about them. These "used to work here" people, it feels intentional.
Did any store get extra hours this season? We got some for Black Friday and that's it, the one day. How the hell do they expect us to handle the holiday shopping with extra support? Single shift coverage is insane for the amount of work required. Yeah, this holiday season is it for me. I'm out of here.

Is there any advantage to the staff if I buy a PS5 in-store vs buying it online (both from GameStop)?

Does anybody know how to preorder the 151 Blooming Waters Premium Collection in store at their local GameStop? I’ve never actually preordered anything in store at my local GameStop.
As a gamestop employee, this infuriates me so much. Why? Well besides the fact that it's fucking shitty as hell, you open another store to take the massive hit when the customer does realize you scamed then.
A store in New York added half warranties to this guys order, and it came down on my store in California to refund him. That hurts my numbers.
If you do this, you are a shitty person. Even more of a shitty coworker. I don't give a fuck about the company, but when it affects me, it starts to be an issue.

I’ve barely slept because I’m past the point of being so exhausted I can’t sleep, and despite our DM claiming BF weekend was looking down overall - it sure as hell hasn’t been in my location. I feel like it’s been a long month of work these last three days.

Anyone else getting record high calls this year on troubleshooting headsets set up? Already at 4 calls in the first hour. I understand general questions but what do you mean I should know step by step how to set up your headset for you?!? Oh yeah and no we cant exchange it after you ate the box and ripped up the packaging…

Hello Gamestop members, I just had a quick question.
I placed an order online on the Gamestop website for 4 items for in store pickup. All 4 items are for the same store. 2 of those items I know the store physically has in Stock but the other 2, it shows that they do online.
Shortly after placing the order I get a notification that my order is cancelled. When I arrived at the store to find out why the advisor tells me that they didn't have 2 of the 4 items in the order and that their system doesn't allow them to push thru the items they do have, that they have to cancel the whole order. Is this true? It doesn't make sense to cancel a whole order just because an item in a group in not in stock.
Been trying to place an order and every time I do they end up canceling my order. I’m using their pro card and I have money on there. I have enough to cover what I’m trying to buy. I have contacted the company that issues the card and they gave me GameStop‘s number. I contacted GameStop and they keep telling me to go in store to buy what I’m trying to order. I’m trying one more time if they cancel my order I will be canceling my pro card and never shopping from GameStop ever again.

GameStop’s cyber Monday is literally just the Black Friday sale with cyber Monday artwork
So I had an active Pro membership. But when they were doing that promo where you got a free year of Pro if you signed up and used the credit card, I did it.
But that free year has been giving me issues. The membership I had beforehand expired and when I have employees check at the register, it shows I still have Pro active and it matches the time from when I got the credit card promo year. But I no longer get $5 monthly coupons. I called customer service and was told to check at a store at the register. But they aren't sure why I no longer get the coupons despite the register showing me as a Pro member.
Whenever I go to the GameStop website and log in, it tells me I am no longer a Pro member. But the registers in the stores show me as an active Pro.
The only change that happened is that I am under that free promo year.
I'm sorry if this makes no sense. But it's confusing me and I can't figure it out. And I feel stuck in a cycle because customer service tells me to check with store employees and the store employees tell me I should contact customer service.
Our sewage backed up today during the busiest part of the day. At first we smelt an odd smell and then next thing you know standing in literal shit water. My dm called us and said to close and that the next day we will come back to clean. I hope I get paid extra for this crap, pun intended.
