Not sure if this is the correct subreddit but I’m looking at getting the game emulator that’s in the title. Is the revised edition (2022copyright) noticeably different from the second edition (2023 copyright)?
Hello, I'm Julian, a German-speaking games developer, after years of difficulty finding help with programming, and especially not in German. I would like to connect all German-speaking developers with this community.

How to I change the map without making a new game with my players ? How do I make a campaign?
Hey everyone. Our Reddit is not really well-kept at the moment and so we suggest to y'all to just visit us on discord. That is discord.gg/gamemasterengine - There you can meet us directly, talk with us and also stay in touch with the rest of the community, download maps that others made and so on. :)
My friend is trying out the GM edition of Game Master Engine but when he rolls dice for strength or weapon attacks, instead of having 3 or 4 added to them like it says, it adds some randomly ginormous number like 3694812325. We don't know where its coming from. Any assistance?
Thanks.
I am starting my first campaign within this engine. I had a player come and test a few of the maps yesterday and we ran into some issues. The maps were slow to load and the players token was very jumpy when they took control of it.
We lowered all of the graphics settings and nothing changes. Has anyone ran into this issue and found a solution?
So I've had issues trying to fix my resolution, 1920x1080 just shoves the right side partially offscreen, is there no way to make this a fixed borderless window?
Any help would be appreciated. I have downloaded a few maps from the GME Discord. Some load up just fine (Thalantis and Medium Taverne), most however are just loading bedrock with no assets. What could cause this? Is it simply because I don't have the DM edition so I can't use some of the assets that are included in these maps?
So unity and unreal engine all game engines in general requires Jdk ,sdk amd ndk built tool i habe spent the last 3 days trying to export my game to android and it absolutely does not want to work i have downloaded android studio with majority of the api and sdk and developer tool and have correctly set the path for all engine amd still nothing. If anyone can help i would appreciate it.
If it's just a bug in the new versions of the game engines can someone tell me if there having the same problem.
is there a community workshop or a way to import pre existing maps?
Still getting my feet wet in everything, is there a way to change the color of walls or objects? I haven't found the tool that can do that and just wondering if it exists, and I'm a dummy for not seeing it, or if it will added down the line.
A similar question, is there a way to drop multiple walls at once or do I need to individually place each section?
Otherwise, GME has been a blast to create on so far.
How do you undo things?
How can you make islands? The sea level is either so low you don't see it or so high you don't see the islands
When you are making a new battle map, would you have to manually make the character sheets all over again, or is there a way to transfer them?
Any other advice for making stuff would be appreciated!
Hey guys, I bought the DM edition a while ago when it had a discount, since I liked the look of it. I haven't actually had any time to play DnD therefore I haven't actually used it until now.
I have been experimenting with it and made some maps, they aren't works of art but im happy with them. This very afternoon I asked one of my players to test GME with me so we could work out how to actually use it in our session this friday, for some reason he is unable to join in he can see that Im hosting, can put the password and can "try" to enter but it doesn't go through loads for a bit of time and then kicks him back to the main menu.
Is this because the VTT is not possible for the moment or is he having some trouble with GME?
In case of the former is there any way to be kept up to date with the development? Many thanks
Hello everyone! Today we're starting the open beta testing for version 0.8.3. Everyone can participate! To be a part of the beta, follow these steps:
Go to Steam
Right-Click Game Master Engine
Go to "Properties"
Go to "Betas"
Enter the Password "Roll4Initiative".
After downloading and installing (may take a while) you should be good to go. You can always revert back to the stable version from within the same menu.
This beta has a host of new features which we want you to test. You can find explanations of all of them in the game, if you click on the "beta" text at the top left of the screen. Please give us your opinion on our discord! (discord.gg/gamemasterengine). The more you engage with this, the higher the chance that the features you like are getting worked on and improved.
Any questions? Post them below! You're also free to share this password with your players. We wish you a lot of fun!
Just got this and it looks really cool but feels very clunky to use.
Are there good tutorials out there showing how to build up a standard map, running it through play, etc?
I've watched the tutorials that they have but wasn't too helpful.
One big thing I was trying to do was add more grids/spaces to my current map. Or is it only the selected 20x20,etc you can build on?
Nexus Mods is an old school mod community, originally it was for Fallout 1, 2 and 3, and they were called NoMutantsAllowed.
I believe that convincing them to add Game Master Engine to their list of mod management solves some problems for you.
I shot them an email at support@nexusmods.com, if anyone else wants to throw their hat in the ring, sent them an email too!
Greetings all you Steam Users (and the rest too). Recently we have had in mind to add some cool achievements to Game Master Engine. As the extension of the community I serve as, now we ask all of you guys for fun ideas as to what you would like to see being an achievement in game? #CreativeTime
*Place 1 million props.* :D
Also, don't forget to check out our discord where we post about stuff all the time! https://discord.gg/gamemasterengine

Is this currently an option to import STLs? Using Eldritch Foundry and would love to import my players characters
As the title says, I've had trouble using maps that I downloaded from the Discord group. I tried the tips mentioned in there too (i.e. naming the unzipped folder mysavegame within the savegames folder).
Currently when I click on the Load Maps option it comes up with the mysavegame option but once it loads in to the map there is nothing there. Once again I checked the Discord and made sure that there wasn't a duplicate folder inside the original MySaveGame folder so I'm at a bit of a loss now.
I only found this recently and am troubleshooting to the best of my ability but my computer knowledge is limited so I'm hoping someone may have experienced the same problems and come up with a solution. Thanks in advance for any help!
is it planed to adsd an option to rebind some key ? I'm curently trying the game from france from an AZERTY keyboard (french standards) not a QWERTY one.
There is a way to switch the keyboard but I was wondering if keybinds were in plan.
(BTW, your stuff Is awesoome, I'll use it on ITL games to show places on the TV of my gaming room)
I firmly believe that the best thing any game revolving around creativity can do is offer modding support. Plenty of people will create and upload their own models, maps, and other features if given the tools/resources. I know already that maps can be shared, but it seems a little bit barebones.
That being said, i have no idea how one would go about supporting modding/sharing. Just wondering if it's a goal for the game.
Is there a way to roll a d100? I run a game that's mainly d100 based, so that would extremely useful!
Love this! I just downloaded, played with it, and bought! Very cool stuff
The discord link on the Reddit, the Main Website, the Steampage, and a comment left on another post are all dead links. Any new links?
Every time I create a new map, it seems that I don’t have an option to place minis
Open Beta v.0.8b: Character Sheet Creator
It's official! After a lot of sleepless nights on my part and a lot of careful appliance of polish by Dan, Game Master Engine now has a character sheet builder! That means in the beta, you can make character sheets and character sheet templates for basically any game you can come up with, from D&D to Pathfinder to "I just need a lot of text fields". Hooray!
Also, this beta is going to be open, so that means that everybody can participate.
The Character Sheets are directly associated to the minis, meaning that every mini has its own sheet. They are also exportable and importable, meaning you can put any sheet to any mini. The sheets (or templates) can be accessed by hovering the mouse over a mini and hitting the "C" Key on the Keyboard. Exported (Saved) sheets appear in C:\GME Map Exports. You can pass these on to other players as well.
We hope that with your help, we can test this feature thoroughly in a relatively short amount of time, so we can roll it out to the stable version as soon as possible. Of course, in the meantime, we're already working on other features. Stay tuned!
Disclaimer: Please note that this is a prototype and that we are already working on fixing some of the obvious issues. However, we still want to encourage you to give as much feedback as possible. After a few days, we will ask everyone to complete a 5-minute survey to help us refine this feature and come back with an improved version.
To access the beta branch, you can go to Steam, Right-Click Game Master Engine, go to "Properties", then to "Betas" and enter the password "Roll4Initiative". The beta branch will then appear for you. Using that branch, you can only play with other people in multiplayer that also use the beta branch. The beta branch though is also accessible to all players using the free version, so just get your players in on the action if they use that.
Have fun, and happy gaming! Your Game Master Engine Team :)

Hi. I just downloaded steam + GME on my very old Ubuntu Notebook(OS in which I don't understand pretty much anything).
The thing is this error keeps popping up. Checked online and many people suggested changin Proton to older versions but it's not working for me. Didnt tryied as far as below 5.0 version and surrendered.
Hope some kind soul and/or experienced mind threw me a bone at this. TIA all.
