They went on strike November 15, what an opportune time of year. US Post Office says they won't ship to Canada in response.
In better times, I ordered a game earlier this year from Canada that took 2 weeks to reach me but I didn't mind since it was cheaper than US sellers.
Sorry if off-topic but I thought was relevant.
This is something I don’t think gets brought up all that much. Throughout the nineties and early naughties, so many classic games never made it to PAL territories.
Mega Man 6, Final Fantasy 4, Super Mario RPG, Chrono Cross, Katamari Damacy and others never made it to Europe. This was always seen to PAL’s detriment, but I’d argue it’s just as bad for NTSC nowadays.
All those games I listed above, they’re all in my collection. Where do you think I brought them from? Nowadays collectors like myself who are based in Europe will import these games straight from America, limiting the supply in their intended regions and upping the price. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if the reason why games like Chrono Trigger are so expensive are because they never got a PAL release.
When I started buying 6th and 7th Gen games a few years ago, I was stunned by how cheap they were at the time. When compare to 4th and 5th Gen games, they were extremely cheap. I thought that 6th and 7th Gen games aside from the Gamecube would stay cheap because of their lack of “retro” appeal. However in the last few years, many 6th and 7th Gen games have skyrocketed in value. This doesn’t apply to regular Triple AAA games, but rather licensed games, Niche sports games, Japanese games, or games from developers with a huge fan following like Valve. My guess as to why this is happening is that these games are being delisted from online stores for obvious reasons, as well as Gen Z now being old enough to collect games from their childhood. It’s kind of insane how the games that were new when I was a kid are now insanely collectible and retro. It makes me feel extremely old.
Got the bug to start collecting again after a long hiatus and selling off my collection after high school. (rest in peace my Dreamcast collection, Twilight Princess GC and Thousand Year Door.)
Decided to go with a 1 TB PS4 Slim.
My first haul from the weekend, how did I do?
Okay so I live in a relatively small town with only 2 game shops, EB Games and JB HI FI, which obviously sucks for me bc I love gaming so my options for buying and selling games are very very slim, and I have 11 PS3 games that I do not want anymore and was wondering if EB Games would actually take in PS3 games because they don’t sell PS3 games anymore so I’m not sure, and I can’t sell online and I’d rather not have to go 6 hours into Brisbane or wtv just to sell a few PS3 games. Also I don’t want to bring in PS3 games and embarrass myself lmao (stupid ik)
I’m wondering how many games you own on Xbox not including shovel ware or free games in your collection.
Over the years, I've been able to get some pretty good deals on these, with Final Fantasy 7 being the newest addition! Not proud of how much I spent on Thief 2 though...
Lot of random games and movies were giving to co worker but got wet on the ride.. Sat in an office for a few days until I got them and sat in my car. Didn't see much of anything special.. Finally dug a bit and look what I find. Nice and complete too! But absolutely destroyed cover art. The other games are unfortunate but this one hurts! But hey I'll print a cover and let it be. Just wish I checked sooner.
having a blast so far. lots of cool stuff coming in off ebay too!
I’m looking for a US release of Dredge for the ps5 does anyone know where I can find one?
Is there anywhere to buy this book physically? Just found out about it and don’t really enjoy e-reading. Thanks
Im playing on a snes.
Just wanted to know if keeping your collection in an open concept apartment would ruin it. It wouldn't be in direct sunlight but it would be on display in my bedroom.
Manual included
Also who flies with this?
Not bas since Canadian Black Friday sales is notoriously poor
Hello! I recently acquired some complete in box (albeit somewhat damaged) SNES games. These poor games went through it, and survived a house fire and the subsequent spraying with water.
The carts all work and the boxes are mostly okay, however some of the manual pages are stuck together from being wet. If I try to slowly open them, it will cause the pages to tear.
any tips on trying to revive these survivors, or are the manuals toasted? I was thinking heat might help unbind them but I don't want to further toast these gems from a past life.
Thanks!
Hey! Long time lurker, first time poster. In my country, video game collecting is not a serious hobby. You can find like only few YouTubers doing that and people aren't interested on following prices except for more expensive games like Silent Hill.
I recently started doing serious game collecting and have spent about a 100 euros on games this week. (Not a problem financially thankfully) I own Xbox One and PS3 but I'm focusing on Xbox right now. That console has backwards compatibility so I can grab some 360 games and they work on Xbox One with higher resolution and all that. I'm also interested on PC games but they can be problematic with DRM and some being only Steam activation. So I'm very careful when picking those up. I bought Death Rally and didn't notice Steam activation on the back. So remember to check the case well before buying!
Here's some of my recent pickups:
Will be in the country west of London for a few days, then in London proper for another few. What’s my best bet for finding loose SNES carts for not-insane prices?
