I know there are multiple posts but most say s24 or wait for s25, I paid $999 NZD for my S20 in Dec 2020 & I suspect s25 will be double+ that cost which I'm not willing to pay for a phone.
What phone would people recommend (really doesn't have to be SGalaxy), we are limited here in NZ though & tech costs alot more.
I don't game, I chose S20 because I wanted a good camera & video, funnily enough the cameras close up funcrion turned to crap very quickly but its still decent for longer range.
The loss of an SD bothers me. I'm not good with tech, the S20 is going strong still (somehow) but I see alot of people posting about green lines so I know it's a Metter of time & it's also black Friday soon so...
I just updated it 2 weeks ago why is there another one?
I installed the October 1 security patch 1 week ago but just now it downloaded it again and says Update ready to install... Anyone else having this? Is this a bug?
The purple line suddenly appeared. Do yall know any way to fix it beside replacing it? Cus I'm broke😭
Hii guys so i saved up my money for an s20 UW. ik its UW and there were better choices but i just bought this one bc it felt reasonable. anyways. I have 2 sims and I want to use one of them as an esim. the phone has 1 physical and 1 esim. but the esim is greyed out in the about section. its so fkn annoying
Hello ! I have a Galaxy S20+ which has been showing an intermittent white screen after the latest update in October. Having gone through a few posts it seem like the issue is widespread. Samsung obviously refuses to do anything about it saying the phone is out of warranty. Why are they pushing updates to a phone that's out of warranty if they won't take responsibility for the damage caused by it ? I have filed a complaint with the department of consumer affairs ( am in India ) and hope others can do the same
Am i cooked, because the WHOLE entire screen is just grey, i can't see anything on it, just grey, like it was fine one second then BOOM it's GREY what is going on, is this what screen burn is? 😭 i can tell it's turned on because i can hear the videos playing in the background, but i literally just can't see anything but GREY
Hello. I have the s20 ultra, sadly the exynos 990 version. As you could have already predicted the performance is not good. Actually great in games for the FIRST 5 MINUTES, until it heats up, not even that much but enough for the fps to go under 20 in ANY game. I am wondering if there is a way to remove the thermal throttling thing and never compromise performance for less heat. I feel like most games would run really good if it wasn't for the system limiting itself. Yes i know the phone is old but i am not looking to upgrade it till next year because it is still good for everyday usage, the only problem being gaming that is longer than 5 minutes... anyway thank you in advance, hope to fix this problem.
So this issue happened to me (i have had the phone for a fair amount of time from december 2020)
My s20+ stopped charging one day, not because of water damage or such, after like 1 day i went to a shop to test if it charges wirelessly, it did and then i returned home.
When i plugged it in, the usb port worked again.
1 week later same issue, but this time i did not think of going to the shop because i knew wireless charging worked. I put the phone like 1 min on wireless charging and then the port worked again.
So idk what is the issue, but charging it wirelessly for a little time did solve the problem and the USB functions normally again
I have note 20 ultra, but "s pen to text" in Samsung Keyboard does not work. It does not recognize my handwriting, so text fields do not populate.
Looking into it further I found that maybe handwriting data seems to be missing. When the phone performs "Downloading handwriting data for English (US)" operation it fails: here: https://i.imgur.com/9WrEcSN.jpeg
Does anyone how to fix the issue? Its not a network issue, on my end, as internet works in the phone. Maybe I can download and setup the handwriting data manually as an apk?
So recently, my charger only started charging at a certain angle. If I use and charge, this happens. How do I remove the circle thing from appearing??
Greetings, so basically there's these refurbed S20s on Amazon where I live, the Ultra is 215 bucks and the Plus is 174 bucks so was wondering what would be a better purchase? The Plus is an Exynos while the Ultra is a Snapdragon by the way.
Now the more important thing though that I wanted to ask is reliability, will green lines and the white screen of death be common or can they be prevented?
Thanks.
I don't have any issues with the fingerprint scanner, maybe I had a couple 'missed scans' due to clumbsyness but I have had 10+ correct scans with no problem. I can't remove the question even if I click it and try to find an 'it's okay' option. Maybe I have to add a new fingerprint scan to get android to calm down?
As a primary pc monitor. I have an old sony sdm-hs95d monitor, i have an s20+ 5g ,so could I some how connect my pc to my s20 and have 120hz display?
I've been with this phone for 4 years, took very well of it, but today, I left it charging and when I got back, a green line showed up right in the middle of it. Phone still works fine, but I wonder how long until it gets worse. Should I look for a new phone asap?
Idk whats happening but yesterday my phone had a slight pink line on it and after i restarted it disappeared also i got an update so i updated the phone to ONE UI 5.1 the line came back and more bold line and its not going now can anyone tell me what to do...............?
So I have a 20+ and I shattered the back of it (months ago) and I haven't got to replacing it yet so I dont know if that's the reason why but my phone has been barely charging at all like it will accept the charge but it take a few seconds to realize there's a charger there and will take 11 hours for it to charge to 100% I've already tried everything on Google I've cleaned the port used different charger restarted it in safe mode but nothings working. It was working fine the day before this happened What should I do?
Will the good ol' S20+ charger charge to the max my new S24+? Or is it preferable to get a new charger? Thank you
Hello Community!
I bought a refurbished Samsung Galaxy S20+ earlier this year on eBay. Long story short, I never attempted to use it until late this summer. I have been unsuccessful in fully using it, as it keeps restarting! I have sent it back to the seller 3x with no success in repairs (the first 2x, they said the battery port was dislodged, and they fixed it, but the third time they said nothing was wrong). I feel like I got a dud! Well, I have attached a video to see if anyone in the community might know what's up! After several automatic reboots, the One UI will load (I didn't capture this on recorded video, I am afraid).
I have factory reset the phone, and it still does the same thing BTW.
Thanks all!
All programs I use write me "NFC technology disabled" but in "Settings" is "Always enabled". I try with the phone diagnostic and is all good: what can I do?
My s20 plus goes into white screen when I turn it on the it goes off after a few seconds what should I do
I have Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. I had it since the launch. Battery performance has been only an issue currently. There are no other issues.
The duration of full charge is 10 hours. Also, the samsung members diagnostics app mentioned that battery related issues are poor runtime.
Yesterday, I went to Samsung authorised service shop for battery change. Yesterday, the duration of full charge was 20 hours, and today morning is 17 hours. Dropped quickly. Also, the Samsung members battery warning sign has been the same since yesterday.
Has anyone else experienced the same issue? Any suggestions or tips on what could be a problem and how to mitigate before contacting the repair shop? I told the repair shop yesterday about the battery warnings sign was still there. They mentioned the battery number will register to the system, it will go away automatically.
Thanks for the replies.
Do i need a sim card to switch to 4g ?
A "moisture detected" warning notification popped up on my phone and will not go away so I am unable to charge my phone now. I know there's no moisture because my phone never got wet. I have a samsung galaxy S20 FE G5. I got the warning notification out of nowhere about a minute after I unplugged my phone after the last time I charged it. Now my phone is dead and I cannot resume charging because I cannot get the "mosture detected" warning to go away. I have already googled and checked reddit threads from redditors who had the same issue, and I have tried everything I am able to do, but nothing has worked.
Things I am unable to do: compressed air, blowdryer, old toothbrush, plug it into computer, or charge with wireless charger. My computer has no port that my phone charger usb will fit into, and I don't have the rest.
Things I have tried: gently shook my phone, inspected the charging port closely under light, don't see anything, used different cables and adapters and outlets, cleaned out port with q tip multiple times, nothing came out, so given that my charging port has no visible damage and nothing comes out on the q tip it appears to be clean, indicating it's probably a software glitch. In the case of it being a software glitch, I have cleared the usb cache, cleared the usb data, forced stop the usb system app, software updated my phone, put my phone in airplane mode, put my phone in safe mode and the notification was still there, powered off my phone and tried to plug it in while powered off, but the warning still popped up while my phone was powered off, and now I have my phone sitting in rice as a last resort even though there is no moisture. Nothing has made the notification go away. I have contacted samsung support and they are very useless. After I already clarified that my phone never got wet, they said "did your phone come into contact with water?" After I said no, they just asked me if I've tried everything above that I already said I already tried and it didn't work. So then samsung support said to factory reset my phone, which I was unable to do because I did not have enough time to manually back up all my stuff before my phone died and I couldn't back it up with apps like google photos because I didn't have enough charge left and they require your phone to be at 20% at least to use them to back your stuff up. My phone supports wireless charging, but I do not have a wireless charger and am unable to get one or borrow one at the moment, and even if I could possibly get one later, I'm still not sure if it will work because I already tried to turn on "wireless power charging" and it won't let me because it said "charge your phone to 90% before turning on wireless power charging." which obviously I can't do!
I don't know what else I could do. If I can't charge it, then I might not have a phone anymore. I'm unsure if I will be able to get a new phone if needed, so I might just no longer have one. And even if I can, if I still can't recharge my phone, then I will lose all my photos and videos on it forever.
Finally got a wireless charger and got it charged again
I just got an unlocked S20 to replace my original one (died on me after 4 years this past weekend). And the model is SM-G981U/DS (what is this even?). Can I flash it to SM-G981U1 (which is what mine was)?
So I have a S20 Ultra and I want to know if there's any advice you guys could tell me to avoid the stripes (green, yellow, red and others) on the phone.
I know this phone is turning 5 years old, but are there any ways to speed it up a bit? Somethimes when I switch apps or open camera there is a delay. I have 25gb of storage remaining
