Hello 👋
I run the newly revived subreddit of the Kyrgyz language and would like to ask y’all if you want to join.
The subreddit is focused on everything about the Kyrgyz language, whether about learning or general discussion. We encourage questions about the language, memes, how it is used in Kyrgyzstan itself, comparison to other (Turkic) languages, the transliteration into other scripts like Latin and Arabic, or anything else!
Please consider joining r/kyrgyztili, as well as our other subreddits like r/kyrgyzturizm (subreddit dedicated to Kyrgyz tourism), and maybe r/kyrgyzstan itself!
Thank you!
Kioroglo, Chernioglo, Sarioglo, etc
I’ve met a few people with these last names living in Sacramento, and they all speak Russian or have Russian first names. I googled these last names as well and it seems they are prevalent in Moldova, and I’ve heard they’re common surnames within the Gagauz community. Can any Gagauz people give me some insight? Also, how are these last names pronounced? Thanks!
I know about GRT and Gagauz Language Bible. Do you know other resources? Especially audiobooks, podcast or radio shows etc?
I'm going to visit Gagauzia in February, hopefully. I speak a little bit of Russian and Romanian, but I was hoping to learn some Gagauz too. Do you mind if I ask you guys for some help with Gagauz phrases? Can you tell me how to say the following things in Gagauz Turkish?

I was also wondering how to say a few nationalities. For example, I think the word for Russian is Rus, and the plural is Ruslar, right? So do I have these right?
Bulgar - Bulgarlar
Moldovalı - Moldovannar
Gagauz - Gagauzlar
Ukrain - Ukrainnär
I appreciate the help. Thank you! :)
