This subreddit is for the discussion and troubleshooting of the Wii Homebrew Gamecube Game loader called Nintendont. It allows gamers to have greater control over the Wii's implementation of the MIOS, by creating a Virtual sandbox in the Wii for gamecube games to run in. In doing so, you don't need a patched Wii or any specialist skills to run the app, just a Homebrew enabled Wii or VWii Mode on the Wii U.
This subreddit is for the discussion and troubleshooting of the Wii Homebrew Gamecube Game loader called Nintendont**.
It allows gamers to customise how THEY want to play Gamecube games. Everything from emulating memory cards to playing with USB controllers, from selecting what video mode to play (PAL50, PAL60, NTSC and even an AUTO setting!) and allowing for 480p widescreen support too. And, as of Nintendont Build 2.225, the Official Wii U USB Gamecube controller adapter is now supported for the Wii Family Edition and the Wii U's Virtual WiiMode!
This subreddit is useful if you wanna ask questions to other users of Nintendont that may get overlooked on the /r/Wiihacks subreddit.
The latest version of the .dol loader can be found HERE. Below is a log of what the previous 10 revisions (plus the latest version) add:

Wishlist/ Highly Requested Features Nintendont, as it says in the banner, supports various features the Gamecube could never do. Hence the name of the loader... My point being, below is a wishlist of features that will likely be supported in the future:
Full DK Bongo Support (only partial support at the moment)
Support for the BBA/ Modem
Dis-frickety-frack'n-claimer: I am not responsible for people giving unhelpful advice on this subreddit. Noone on this subreddit can be blamed for bricking* your Wii, and said redditors cannot be blamed for mistakes made.
IMPORTANT: Nintendont runs on the Wii and the VWii Mode (also known as Wiimode) on the Wii U. While it is tempting to merge the two together, there are significant differences between the two modes, so not all solutions that will work for the Wiimode will work on the Wii version. This being said, Nintendont detects whether you are on Wiimode or on an actual Wii. Follow advice for specific versions, determined by whether you have a Wii or a Wii U.
This sadly means that games that run on a Wii may not run on the VWii mode. The loader has a compatibility list for games that are supported, which includes games for specific regions too.
Footnotes: ¹ Bricking basically means that you cannot turn on the Wii and is not recoverable in any way, shape or form. For once in gaming terminology, Bricking is a very literal term, because if you ever encounter bricking, your Wii (or Wiimode) will be as useful as a...er..brick.
² I am not the person who created this magnificent Homebrew app, I just like having people work together to get this thing working as good as DIOS MIOS. The creator is a guy named crediar on GBATemp. HERE is the original post to this wonderful Wii Homebrew app, maintained by Sabykos³
³ There was confusion when creating this sidebar that Sabykos created the homebrew, which is false. I really need to research properly =(
⁴ A Burned Disc is a disc burned on a PC that contains the ISO of the GC game you want to play!

So i bought an external SSD to use with my WiiU as I’ve gone through the whole modding process. The SSD is formatted for the WIIU as I have all the games I downloaded on it. Im not seeing that because of that Nintendont cannot read from my USB. If i were to partion the drive so that one side could be for the WIIU to format and then have the other side be Fat32(I’m assuming), does anyone know if that would work? Or would it just be better to put the games on the SD card or a secondary Hard-drive and call it a day. I have seem that some HDD’s/SSD’s need a Y cable to both power and allow for data transfer.
I am having an issue with the settings for my GC Loader/GameCube settings.
When I go to the In Game Reset section the option for IGR.dol is not there to select. I have the card with the sd card in the SP2SD2 slot with the igr.dol.file in the SD card.
Is there an update or ir a setting I need to change? In the videos I watch the setting is in the first page and in my settings it is like page 3 or 4.
Something is definitely different. I feel like I am missing an update or something. Can anyone help me?
Thanks BigMook
I´ve trying to fix this thing for a while, just looking for someone who has experienced the same thing, but its nearly impossible to find the same situation.
I have entered from WiiUs forwarder to Nintendont, from USB Loader Gx, and i ended up always with the same problem. When restarting with Home button (or the combo L-R-Z-Dpad down, it just doesnt go back to USB loader or Nintendont (ive already changed that option). It just restarts my vWii.
And not just that, it adds some green vertical bars and the signal is kinda corrupted, so I have to restart again my WiiU.
Any ideas?
Hey all, so I was just curious if because my game is highlighted red on Nintendon't which I guess it means it was shrunk? Could that be the reason it's crashing? Everything is up to date, And I'm using a Wii system, It plays fine but just randomly just closed out.
Wii GameCube Is it al all possible? I've heard it's possible to emulated slot b but I'd like to use a physical card in slot b for extra PSO characters and taking to friends. Turning on emulated memory cards on and off allows for either but is it possible to do both?
I understand that turning native controller on would make it seen as as gamecube controller in the wiis on os therefore making it feel prefect to the gamecube game your playing but you couldn't access the shortcut to go back to loader or homebrew channel if you turn on.
quit back to nintendont: R + Z + B + D-Pad Down
so I'm wondering if native controller is off and it configs gamecube controller with emu button layout if there any lag or delay in some games with native controller off?
I recently purchases a third party adapter for my wii u to play gamecube games with an actual gamecube controller. Using the Generic GC Adapter Config, it managed to work aside from one issue, the C-Stick was inverted. Is there a way to fix this?
I have the standalone Nintendont Channel installed on my Wii U. Games are running great, but GC controller functionality is barely there with my generic Game Cube Adapter (EvoRetro branded).
Even with the best controller .ini file i could find, i can only get input from the first controller, and no rumble.
I'm wondering if the Mayflash adapter has four-player compatibility, and if rumble works.

Been trying to run codes from https://gamehacking.org/game/54903 with no luck. Read several forums, tried many different file setups, even tried to redownload the iso to get a 1:1 dump hoping that would work. Do I just have bad codes, or is there something dumb that I'm missing?
What else could I try?
Edit in the rare chance someone needs it: Use USB Loader GX, redownload the codes using its built in downloader. All of the visual junkman part codes crash the game on launch. Haven't had issues with other codes
Been highly recommended this game, so I decided to give it a try. Actually the 10 minutes I got to play it were pretty sick before I ran into my issue.
After reaching the chapel, and defeating a couple of guards. This guy comes out (I think his name is vidarr? Idk he’s got a flail though.) and says “do not get in our way.” And after that I’m completely stuck. I can’t progress the text box at all, and the game isn’t frozen either all the animations and sounds keep playing. But for some reason I can’t get past this text box.
Anybody had this happen before?
I recently got a Wii GC backwards compatible because I’m hunting for games that I never got to play that I am interested in playing or to play again. But I’m not sure what exactly these channels do for the games. The games nowadays are so expensive that if there is a cheaper option with very minimal performance issues, I’ll take that. I’ve done a moderate amount of research and haven’t heard of many bad opinions about Nintendont and I hear that there’s other channels that can play Wii games as well. I don’t know what else to go for as channels besides Nintendont. My questions are:
Playing games from Nintendont, how does it run? Just like playing a physical copy? Is it an emulation game? Is there any input lag like an emulator? What can I expect?
What channels is a must have to play the Wii games and where do I go to get these games? I know so far that I need a PC and go to a website. (I know of one website that I forgot the name)
I’ve heard about bricking Wiis. What are the best precautions to avoid?
My Wii is not modded currently and I want to save money for other titles for other consoles. My only use for my Wii is the GameCube and Wii games.
Thanks for reading!
The error says: CheckForMultiGameAndRegion() failed: 3 Unable to read the CISO bin2.bin area.
Context: Over the past few days, I got interested in playing super Mario sunshine. I had always started the game, got a few shines, then got bored but this time I wanted it to be finally different. I got my homebrewed wii which I already used a couple of months prior to play SMS. When I opened nintendont and tried to run the game I got this error. I know the rom is perfectly fine as I had already played it a few months earlier and got about 25 shines with no errors or issues. In fact yesterday after a bit of trial and error I got it to load. But today no matter what I did it never loaded. I tried reinstalling nintendont. I tried a billion times yet nothing. I also have Metroid prime on the same sd card and it still experiences the issue but rarely only once in a while. But sunshine is the exact opposite, experiencing it nearly always.
I have a game that gave me an error so i tried booting it up again to take a photo of it but instead it started creating the file for the emulated memory card and it's now stuck like this...
I wanted to unlock everything for Super Smash Bros. Melee by using Gecko cheat codes, but anytime I attempt at getting them to load, they don't. I've tried to put the codes and game within the same file, but the game does not appear. I have also attempted to name the .gct file as the game's id, but it does nothing. Could someone explain what it is I am doing wrong? I'm using the USA version on revision two. This is the website I'm using: https://gamehacking.org/game/54687
I don't know if this is something everyone knows, but you can use a Wii remote and nunchuck on game cube games. Or at least Disney's extreme skate adventure. And it has rumble. My brain was confused when I discovered this and I don't know how I feel.
If not nintendont is there other apps on wii that can play pikmin 2 colassal caverns
I use a ps4 controller to play gc games and my only solution is to turn off the wii. Will this be fine in the long run? Any tips is appreciated
What’s up guys, I’m trying to get my generic GameCube adapter to work with nintendont. I put https://github.com/FIX94/Nintendont/blob/master/controllerconfigs/controller_Generic_GC%20Controller%20Adapter.ini in my controllers folder in the root of my directory, and named if VID_PID.ini. I switched it to PC mode and launched a GameCube game and all seemed to be working until I plug in more than one controller. For whatever reason only slot one seems to be recognized. Slots 2-4 don’t work. Does anyone know what the problem could be? This is my adapter: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F36FWMQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
What’s the best GameCube adapter for Nintendont on the Wii U? I’ve had troubles with my my generic adapter where only the controller in slot 1 connects. I’m thinking about getting a Mayflash adapter, has anyone had any troubles with them on nintendont?
Does anyone have a good site I can download rom that is iso? Can’t find
Title says it. I play single player nintendont games through usb loader gx with a ps3 controller, but every time I try to additionally connect a wiimote + nunchuck, the wiimote displayers player 4 and doesn't work. Does nintendont even support wiimotes? If so, how could I play with both the ps3 and wiimotes?
edit: on a seperate note, has anyone succesfully played multiplayer games with two or more classic controllers?
I’ve been having issues with running GameCube games through my hard drive, I get an error saying: An error has occurred. Turn the power off and refer to the GameCube instruction booklet for further instructions. I believe the problem is the ive formatted my hard drive. I know for sure that it’s formatted to fat32 and that the game files are set up correctly, but I don’t know if it’s at 32kb cluster or not. I was wondering how to check if it is and if it isn’t, what to use to format it properly? Thank you.
Hi everyone, I started The Wind Waker last night and was doing fine, got of Outset Island and on Tetra's ship, I went to the door to go down the lower decks and the game went to black and then got an error message telling me to turn off the Gamecube.
Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong?
Any help is appreciated as I love TWW and want to play it again on my Wii.
i have three games on my hard drive and they’re all formatted correctly but when i open nintendont this happens, can anyone help?
