- Comments and posts about lack of frugality aren't allowed. Frugality is unique to the individual. It does not refer to the final cost, value, quality, or popularity of the item. Violations of this rule are an automatic 7 day ban.
2.Questions/Single-use codes

3.No Referral Links/Codes
- While we encourage sharing of discount codes and unique links to awesome deals, we discourage users from sharing their own referral links and codes for which they profit from. This removes the incentive of profit for redditors who post and comment within r/frugalmalefashion and keeps the community fair, honest, and ethical.
When money is involved, you cannot trust anyone to be objective, particularly on the internet. Violations of this rule are an automatic 1 day to permanent ban.
4.No misleading links
- Do not spam or mislead users. This includes coercion with deceiving links and fake websites.
5.Follow Reddiquette
- We strictly enforce reddiquette in r/frugalmalefashion. Click here to visit the official Reddiquette page. Healthy debate and sharing of information requires a civil environment, so consider the following:
- Remember the human.
- Adhere to the same standards of behavior online that you follow in real life.
- Use an "innocent until proven guilty" mentality.
- State your reason for any editing of posts.
6.No astroturfing
- Astroturfing is the practice of masking the sponsors of a message or organization to make it appear as though it originates from and is supported by grassroots participants. To maintain honest and fair posts, do not pose as a third party to a company or a deal/sale if you are directly or indirectly affiliated with a company. If you are directly affiliated, such as an employee, shareholder, owner, or related to any of the above, you must disclose it.
7.New Accounts & Karma
- For new users, we require a certain minimum amount of karma before posting new threads. By doing so, we are able to filter out a large number of spam posts from bots to spam-filled websites. If you believe your post is legitimate yet still removed, the moderators will review the post, potentially allow it, and monitor it for suspicious activity.
8.No company posts
- Posting as a company, even if you announce it, will result in a permanent ban as that is considered spam. Similar to the rules on astroturfing and referral links, we strictly enforce a non-biased and ethical subreddit, where money isn't exchanged to our subreddit or our members.
9.Title must include discount
- To improve the ability to scroll and quickly read deals, we ask that redditors include this information in their post title if possible or applicable.
10.No previously posted sales
- To cut back on multiple posts sharing the same information, we require posts to only contain new information on deals. You may create a new post for the following:
- New items added to a previously posted deal.
- More percentage off to a previously posted deal. Typically, sales run 3-7 days but can run as long as 2 weeks, so please check the post history that far to see if your deal has been posted already.
11.No insignifcant deals/sales
- In order to keep posts relevant to as many redditors as possible, and to keep our subreddit clean from spam, we don't allow insignificant deals. Typically, we consider insignificant deals to be those which are a very low discount (like perpetual discounts, or rolling sales) or items which aren't historically very popular.
12.YMMV Posts
- Some deals are only available at specific physical locations, or have very limited stock, e.g. returned items or factory seconds. In this case, use the YMMV flair ("Your Mileage May Vary") to indicate that others may not be able to obtain the same deal. YMMV posts must include location and other pertinent details in the title, or they will be removed.
13.NSFW Content
- Since a large number of our subscribers view these deals either around friends/family and at work or school, we can't allow NSFW content, and if it is shared, it must be disclosed. Typically, we won't allow this type of content if it's purely NSFW in nature, rather than just happening to be NSFW and related to a deal or sale (such as with underwear). This is a bannable offense and we do enforce it.
Ban List
- Frugality complaint rule violations: usually 7 days.
- Spam: 1-30 days, depending on the type/severity.
- Personal attacks: varies by severity. Usually ~10 days.
- Referral codes/affiliate links: 30 days.
- Astroturfing/vote manipulation: usually permanent

US $800 de minimis exemption for Canadian goods no longer valid
Be careful when buying from Canada to the US--used to be $800 de minimis limit before duties would apply, but that's gone for the time being.
Some shops may cover it but buyer (importer) beware, especially on Grailed or eBay.
"The White House officials said that Canada specifically, would no longer be allowed the "de minimis" U.S. duty exemption for small shipments under $800."

I got a pair of these as a gift a couple months ago and had never tried alpaca socks before. My entire sock drawer consists of merino options from Darn Tough, Smartwool, Point6, etc. so I was skeptical about these stacking up.
I actually love them and think they’re just as good (so far) as my merino socks. Now, they don’t have the warranty that DT does and I’ve only had them for a couple months so I don’t know about their durability but so far I’m impressed.

I haven't worn any of these brands in the last 20 years and I personally wouldn't start now but there are some good deals on flip flops, backpacks, swim shorts, accessories, etc.
I found some good swim trunks that came out to ~$15 but I did have to wade through (pun intended) a bunch of 10" inseam shorts to find them. For some reason these brands use "outseam" and not inseam but I measured other trunks that I had and it looks like their 16" outseam shorts are 7" inseam.
For free shipping with no minimum you need to create a "loyalty" account but that just means signing up with an email.
They're having the same deal for Roxy if you want to get your girl some swim stuff.

- 99% of us use Paypal to facilitate these transactions. Gifting is fine, but understand the limits and liabilities of sending an unprotected "gift" to a seller. You'll save a bit of $, but it does leave you exposed if there is a fraudulent seller. So far though, in almost a year of this reoccurring thread, I haven't heard of any fraudulent transactions. But just try to be smart about things.
- Please try to evaluate the "fair market value" of your items. No use in overpricing things and having them not sell.
- Feel free to ask for answers or pictures about an item you are interested in. A good seller will always be willing to answer you in a timely matter.
- On the other hand, be a good buyer. Respond to the seller's communication, and be truthful about your intentions. Nothing is worse for a seller than answering a bunch of questions about fit and details, and then the potential buyer dropping off the map.

Pro Tip: Use shop.app to search multiple brands/retailers at once and find some great deals
I used to rely on Google Shopping to find deals on specific items/brands, but the Google Shopping re-design in the past year or so has made it basically impossible to narrow down on specific items/brands.
So here's a way to find great deals using Shopify's shop.app site:
- A ton of brands/retailers have built their sites on the Shopify platform. And it turns out you can search across every single Shopify site at once using the shop.app website or the Shop app.
- The key thing is that the search function on shop.app still uses exact/lexical/match search, rather than the semantic/AI search that Google Shopping now uses (which tries to guess what you "really mean", rather than showing you exactly what you searched for).
- This allows you to search for a specific item/brand, and then cross-shop all of the Shopify sites at once for the best price and to easily filter for what's on sale.
Example
- I've been scouting items from the brand Dehen 1920 recently: https://dehen1920.com
- Dehen makes classic pieces with very high quality, great materials, and all made in USA, but is accordingly quite expensive. Thus the desire to find deals.
- One of Dehen's most popular pieces is the Crissman Overshirt: https://dehen1920.com/collections/crissman-overshirts
So here's some examples of trying to find deals on a Crissman Overshirt ->
Google Shopping: "Dehen Crissman Sale"
- Google actually finds the best current deal on a Crissman (50% off at Huckberry), but then immediately starts showing unrelated stuff. Not that useful.
Shopify Search: Brand + Item
- Searching for "Dehen Crissman" on the Shopify site, and then filtering for On Sale, immediately finds 8 different Crissman shirts on sale across various sites.
- A few of these were also found by Google Shopping, but shop.app finds more options on sale.
Shopify Search: Item Name Only
- One of the advanced tricks for using shop.app is to search for the item name only and to leave out the brand name. This is b/c not every site has the right metadata for the brand name in the product listing, so including the brand name in the search will exclude those listings.
- So if you search for just "Crissman" and then filter for On Sale, you'll see that actually 12+ Crissman shirts are on sale, not the 8 that the original search found.
- This works best of course if the item has a fairly unique name or name + color combo.
I've found some extremely good deals using this technique, particularly for the higher end brands that are carried by a lot of the menswear retailers that have built their sites on Shopify. Hope this is helpful!

This is almost certainly a pricing error, but this RRL Western shirt is currently listed for $34 on the site with most sizes still available as of ~9a US Central time. Not my style at all, but certainly a deal if they don't cancel!
I added it to cart just to check and the only thing that changed was the addition of shipping.
