I have played Bloodborne and elden ring and their dlcs. Am I ready for sekiro?

Started w Bloodborne, got about 400 hrs on it. Now on elden ring which I bought in August, and have around 200 hrs on it. Do you think I'm ready for sekiro's difficulty? Will I get used to it?. Also what is sekiro's combat like. I mean, I can see what I looks like, but how does it feel? Is it similar to ghost of Tsushima? I've heard it's very satisfying

Off Topic: Help me choose my next game

As the title says, this is off topic as is not about FS games.

With all the winter discounts a lot the games from my wishlist are discounted so I wanted to ask for an opinion from fellow souls enthusiasts.

The options that I’m considering are: Cyberpunk, Baldur’s Gate 3, Stellar Blade, Prince of Persia and Rise of Ronin.

I know as a souls veteran I’d probably prefer Stellar Blade which is similar to Sekiro or Rise of Ronin as I am also a Nioh enthusiast.

However I’m looking for the best overall gaming experience, not necessarily a game to scratch the souls itch.

Thank you!

It’s ok to be worried about the acquisition.

Title. This has been a somewhat heated discussion for people. Many posts saying it doesn't matter.

My opinion? It's ok to be negative about it.

Like sure. It will have much greater consequences on the anime industry, Sony already owns Crunchyroll and this would mean a stranglehold on nearly all mainstream anime media.

But this sub is a Fromsoft one, and even if they had nothing to do with the takeover (they didn't), it's not unreasonable to assume consequences.

Large acquisitions are pretty much always followed by huge numbers of layoffs, whether neccessary or not. Plus the whole exclusivity discussion. And not to mention conflicting management approaches.

It may seem silly to some, but I genuinely think this may well have a negative impact, and as a place of discussion for these games, we are allowed to feel a lil worried.

In the end the commonality here is the love for the games and their creativity. Monopolies just aren't a positive thing, especially for creativity. They are not good for economics either tbh. I personally don't want all media in 10yrs just under 5 corpos.

That aside, this wasn't meant to be an argument/doompost or a political thing, but just a reminder

Why does Fromsoft keep making gimmick bosses? (not a rage post)

This is a genuine question that popped up in my mind while thinking about boss design. Is there an actual reason why there is at least 1 gimmick boss in each From game?

Do they think someone actually enjoys it? Is it just to pad up the boss count/play time without investing much effort into a boss moveset? Is it something we have to put up with as a necessary annoyance in otherwise 10/10 games?

Yes, sure, Yhorm and Rykard are spectacles and visually amazing, but they have shown us they can make cool looking titan bosses without using a gimmick (Fire Giant, Rotted Greatwood). Can’t even use size as an excuse for Folding Screen Monkeys, that’s just an atrocity.

What is your opinion on Fromsoft’s reason for doing this? Do you think it’s here to stay and how much do you mind it?

Need help with Corvian Great Scythe build!

I'm planning on doing a run with the Corvian great scythe. It gets S scaling in dex, so wouldn't a pure dex build be the best? But if I also want to infuse it should I use resins or weapon buffs? And wouldn't weapon buffs mean I should put some points into faith too? Really any tips on the build would be appreciated, thanks! 😁

Just bought all three dark souls

As the title explains I just bought all three dark souls games and wanted to ask if there is anything I should look out for such as weird mechanics.

Just in case I have played demon souls, elden ring +dlc, sekiro and bloodborne.

Planning a Blind SL1 Demon's Souls Run. Does the game go on sale frequently?

Every Fromsoft title has definitely been worth its money (and much more even), but I figured I'd check with this sub to see if this is just one of those games that goes on sale a lot.

I've played DS1, 2, 3, BB and ER and have virtually avoided all spoilers for DeS and Sekiro over the last 12 years and 7 years respectively, so I'm planning to do some blind runs on these, with DeS being more of a challenge-run.

If not, I don't mind forking over the $70.

Do you think the hunter would fair better in elden ring, or the tarnished in Bloodborne?

Imagine you are playing with any elden ring build with any weapon or magic in Bloodborne. Now the hunter from Bloodborne in elden ring. Any trick weapon, guns and the works. I think the tarnished in Bloodborne would destroy, but come on, the rally system, parrying and trick weapons in elden ring? That would be fun. But you would also get the elden ring mechanics. So torrence, jumping, flasks, some armour might actually make a difference.

Which DS should I play first?

Sekiro was my first game from FromSoftware that I ever fully played, and since then I've been enchanted by the Soulslike universe, I have played Bloodborne a little bit on my friend’s PS (which i dont have tho), and also enjoyed a lot. Now all 3 Dark Souls games are on sale on Steam, and I'm not sure which one to get first. An obvious answer would be DS1, but a friend once told me that the trilogy isn't necessarily in chronological order (not sure with this information tho), so I'm looking for some guidance here.

I've been thinking about the next fromsoftware game to buy after playing the elden ring dlc and Bloodborne and i can't decide between sekiro and the dark souls trilogy.

I need some explanations

Almost everyone is saying that ds3 is harder than elden ring, and I legitimately don’t understand how.

maybe it’s because I started with Elden ring but like for most of er bosses took me between 30 - 70 attempts and even 102 for dlc Radha, but in ds3 most of the bosses took me between 10 - 30 attempts and some that are supposed to be super hard even less, for example soul of cinder took me 17 attempts (46 for radagon & Elden beast) 9 attempts for Midir, wich is supposed to be the hardest dragon boss fight from the soulsborn and 4 attempts for Gael.

many people are gonna tell me that er is easier beacause of the open world but (imo) it’s actually harder.

in ds3 you just have to follow a path so it’s kinda easy, but in er, sometimes you are just lost in the world and don’t know where to go cause you get clapped everywhere.

So yeah I would really appreciate an explanation from someone that finds ds3 harder than er, thanks.

Which should I play?

I can either get bloodborne dlc or ds3 with 2dlc. I quite like bloodborne but I feel ds3 is giving more value. What should I get?

PS - I have an allowance so I can't get both Thanks! Edit - I have bought dsr and ds2SotFS

Just got the trilogy. And have a few questions.

What should I level for a magic build? How to use shield charged attack? I only played bloodborne on skill/strength build before so it is different.

Shadow Of The Erdtree

yearn for Shadow of the Erdtree, yet runes elude me.

If your favorite game is Ds2..

What makes it your favorite? I had a lot typed up for this but I'm going to make it short. I've played all games multiple times, challenge runs etc but I'm now only playing Ds2 for the first time (SoTFS specifically). I'm not very far into the game currently.

Instead of bashing it, I'm just curious what about it makes it #1 for some players.
