Idk about you but I think the whole Lance concept for Landry is so effing hilarious and every time I watch the show it literally never gets old. What’s something you feel never gets old during your rewatches?
im a first time watcher and i just finished the series and it was so good. i didn’t think id like it at first bc the beginning was pretty slow but once it picked up i loved it. i love matt and julie and im so happy they ended up together. i also really liked the editing at the end and subtly showing us where everyone ends up. i think everything wrapped up nicely and fnl will always hold a place in my heart. texas forever 🫶🏻
On my latest rewatch I was so disappointed in the writers when they had Jason cheat with Suzy and lie about it. After what Jason and Lyla had gone through with Tim, it feels unrealistic that Jason would do that only a few months later. He just proposed and can't stfu about how much he loves her. And he's JASON STREET, the most honorable guy in the world. I just don't buy it.
The writers were way too into cheating in season 1. Matt lies to Julie about the rally girls in the hot tub, Buddy sleeps with Tyra's mom, and the Lyla/Jason mess.
I just wanted to say how badass of a name Steven Hannibal Riggens is
I’m watching for the first time and enjoying, expecting some things not to age well. I just watched season 5 episode 3 and it was disappointing for them to cast blame on the rally girls for being passed out and the football boys passing them around. Even Tami said it was their fault. Just brought me back to the early aughts and the attitude around that.
Of course, Julie did some questionable things and often acted like a spoiled teen in general. I actually liked that, cause that was one of the most realistic teenagers I've seen on TV. We tend to forgive someone like Riggins for horrible things they do, but forget that growing up and figuring things out can be challenging even if you grow up in a "perfect" family.
But outside of Swede storyline she was always an amazing partner/friend to Saracen. As supportive and helpful as it gets, always willing to listen to his problems (and boy he had a lot on his plate) and lighten the mood with a joke.
Coach benches Matt for a cocky freshman QB... Matt gets even by having sex with Julie at the lake. Like a boss.
I can't believe she was left off of the character elimination. She was a real one. Y'all wrong for that.
What happened??? They took it off 😢
I just started watching 911 and Connie Britton was there. Shucks she's only in one season though. (two other episodes in season 3 as well)
Why did they write bo Miller out ? I really enjoyed his dynamic with tim and thought it had real potential .
It showed like 38-10 for the beginning game. That trick play seems kind of disrespectful if your winning by that much. Idk I could be wrong lol
Street Voodoo Vince J. D. Smash
Honorable mention: Smash’s friend he grew up with played defensive end iirc, Luke, Riggins Who would you have?
Layla & Riggins Matt & Julie Landry & Tyra Vince & Jess
Would love to see good explanations.
I would say Layla and Riggins.
Just based on coaches salaries at that time, it’s got to be seven figures, right?
I had previously said that every time he appears on screen, I want to wash.
But when he stood up to the Panther boosters then switched his loyalty to Coach Taylor and East Dillon, he gained a lot of esteem in my eyes.
Anyway, Buddy is is just kinda sleazy; Joe McCoy is evil.
He's successful academically. Part of school sports team, often playing on field. Started a rock band with a bunch of friends.Friends with the every kind of student in school.
I thought Landry had been accepted to a college at the end of S3 and graduated along with Matt, Tim, Tyra and Lyta. But at the start of S4, he’s been assigned to East Dillon and plays for the Lions.
Am I misremembering or did the writers just make Landry a year younger?
I watched this movie because John Lithgow but I just realized Connie Britton was in it....
The only times I really disliked her were in season 2 (she was a nightmare pretty much the whole way through) and in season 5 after the TA affair arc when she was at home acting like a baby.
I actually liked her a lot in season 1, most of season 3, all of season 4, and half of season 5.
I also find myself very sympathetic to her in season 4 after Matt leaves her. I thought the scene where she breaks down to Tami after she realizes Matt is leaving was wonderfully acted and very powerful.

Ok I just started watching this show.
In season 1 is Tyra 18? This episode is so weird to me because you have some high school girl hooking up with some young professional who is likely in their 20s. Just a real weird fucking side story showing this guy being a predator? Or am I getting the ages wrong?
Who gave the best / your favorite acting performance in Friday Night Lights?
