I hope you’re all doing well! I'm in the market for a groovebox to start producing sample-based French Disco House. I found an open-box SP-404 MKII for $400, and my other option is the Yamaha Sequeltrak.

As a total beginner, I'm looking for something fun and intuitive that will help me create complete songs. I'm not focusing on live performance at the moment.

Would like to start producing some french house with some dawless hardware. I am curious if you have any recommendation of a synth/sampler that could be fun for this endeavor. So far I was taking a look at Yamahas Seqtrack or TE KO II but the latter lacks song mode… any recommendations? Cheers!

Hey. I'm currently working on a huge french touch blindtest which will ask you to guess a track by its drums or bassline. I'm including over 30 artists and it will most likely be several videos long.
I need your help to figure out wether i should shuffle the entire 150+ tracks into n smaller videos regardless of specific genre and release date, or if i should do it roughly by era (1996-2002 => 2003-2011 => 2011-present)?

It's intended as a kind of alternative to the Crydamour and Roule that everyone knows. All should be able to be DJed or added to a proper upbeat dance playlist. A few were hard to find, a few are from French House artists as they developed away from the traditional sound. A few are just preferred remixes. I am playing a daft punk themed party and need french house tracks, preferably 4 on the floor and banging rather than stuff that is more vocal / band produced. In this defected article, it states that the only sample used was the vocal, and that the instrumental loop was created by Pete:

So it's not a person, it's a music group. It was another name for Together but Fred Falke joined and then Felix Buxton of Basement Jaxx joined too. Though the group ended when Daft Punk split :(
