I've never had a problem with the app draining my battery, but in the last 2 days the app has been draining like 80% of my battery while running in the background. The app has unrestricted access to the battery, because when I don't it alerts me that I won't be able to revieve notifications for low/high glucose... Does anyone know a good middle ground where I can still get alarms, but not lose my battery quickly?
(just a lighthearted joke)
What I dislike about Libre3 is the inconsistency in sensor readings. They can be 10 to 40 units higher than manual tests. It's hard to determine the accuracy of the sensor attached to your skin, especially with the delay compared to manual pokes. This inconsistency can make it difficult to achieve precise goals like A1C or average glucose levels, as higher margins of error can ruin your data. Any trick I need to know here?
I don't know when but a few years ago I had somehow manages to make the alarm stop making noises completely because my blood sugar goes up and down a lot while I'm sleeping but is normal when waking back up, because of the amount of times it'd wake me up in the middle of the night several times, and before you say anything, no my blood sugar isn't an issue when the alarm goes off, it just freaks out whenever it's at anything higher than 5'0 or lower than 4'0, my normal blood sugar is normally at 6'5-7'8, and any time the alarm goes off, it's been at 6'0+ but less than 8'0, I had managed to make the alarm stop years ago but I had to uninstall and re install the app because it only showed up all white when I would try to check my blood sugar, I had a good tempo going, but now because I had to do this for it to work again and now not remembering how I made it stop I'm getting desperate to make it stop again because I have insomnia as well, it used to only go off if my blood sugar was at lower than 3'5 or if it was higher than 10'0 which it rarely ever was because I'm careful, I just want to know if anyone know/remembers how to turn off the alarm, I can not go back to terrible insomnia to the point it messed with my physical health
It says to go into setting>libreview but there's no libreview section in the settings. So how do I get it to work?
Has anyone successfully scanned a new sensor to start since updating to 18.2? From what I have culled, while the BT connection is stronger (I have had far fewer "sensor loss" errors), scanning with NFC is a fail.
i requested the refill on december 2nd. out of stock till the 21st it said. i just checked and now, its out of stock till the 27th. my last sensor ends in roughly 7 hours. i don't get super high or low usually but have noticed my during the day numbers saying in the yellow zone. i'm just coming off a leg infection and really need a sensor because if my sugars run too high, i run the risk of reinfection. what am i supposed to do?
anyone else deciding to give up on using Libre CGM’s?
I got a three month A1c check today and I’m just exhausted with how inaccurate the Libre has been reading my glucose.
My latest A1c was a full point higher than what my CGM was saying that my average was. And every time I have to change to a new CGM I’m getting wildly different readings.
At what point is Abbott going to finally make these reliable so that when you’re using them they’re giving you accurate results without having to rely on a secondary reading from a fingerstick.
For me, it’s back to fingersticks and my usual A1c check every three months. I just can’t see spending the money for CGM‘s that are so unreliable anymore.
Trying to figure out how to change my user flare lol
I'd love to have a going high and going low alarm that's based on speed of BG change, rather than just alarms when you cross a specific BG number.
For example, it would be amazing if I could have an alarm that goes off when I have a straight up or straight down arrow in the Libre 2 app. I know the official app doesn't offer that, but can this be done with any other configuration?
I couldn't find a clear answer when reading up on some of the alternatives.
My sensor says my glucose is 2.2, but my blood reader says 9.9. I have been training, and I felt like my sensor was slightly moved to the side. Is there a way to calibrate it?
Hey libre users. Could I ask those that use the app either for the libre 2 or 3 do you have issues with the alarms once you go into the app to see your reading? Alarms stop coming through and I have to manually reset the low or high limit for it to play again before exiting the app for them to keep playing. For example I may have addressed a low but realise after 2 hours I'm still low and sensor didn't alert as I hadn't reset the alarm or changed the limit. I had the same issue with my Samsung A71 and now the S24+
Working fine, and now it says not working, need to replace sensor. What's up with that? It was working this morning, so I haven't bumped it or anything. I see from other posts that Abbot will replace them. I no longer have the carton/application items though. Someone stated their phone number is on those. Can anyone who has Abbot's number on their package please send it to me? TX!
Hi all, I got a freestyle libre 3 in the US, will it work in the philippines? Im planning to stay there for 3 months. Any advice? Thank you
I’m a first time user of Libre 2. I’m curious if Libre 2 estimate of A1C after 3 months of collecting data is close to the actual?
Is there a way to view and access the monitoring data via a web site?
I have it working on the iOS app, but it would be nice to be able to view it on a web browser (on a desktop PC).
Thank you,
Anyone else feeling like it’s becoming more and more difficult to scan your sensor on iOS?
Don’t get me wrong, I used to get the occasional problems but never as bad as it has been recently.
For example, the past few months, it’ll take a day or two after my applying my sensor to get it working. My most recent attempt failed to scan altogether. I use NFC on my phone for other things (contactless payments, document scanning) and it operates fine - it’s only my sensor that’s it’s an issue.
And it seems to work perfectly fine on my work phone (android)…
Rant over
I've read that it it good thing apply thr new sensor before the old one expires, like 12-24hrs ahead, but you don't "turn it on"(aka connect it to your app) till the old one is done. This is to help your arm acclimate to th new sensor so you get less wildly off readings for the first day or two (mine were wildly low the first 1-2 days).
Does anyone follow this method?
I figured I would just switch between arms. Or is same arm slightly different placement better?
Any advice beyond read the instructions guide (done) and check out helpful videos/websites (done) would be appreciated.
I keep getting the Alarms unavailable signal which means either the volume is shut off or it's lost Bluetooth connectivity. I decided to use Bluetooth Meter app from the Google store to measure the signal strength.
Right now my Samsung 7 Watch has a -40dbm, the Samsung TV -56 dBm but the Freestyle Libre has a -96 dbm (it was -76 dbm earlier).. That's the reason I keep losing the signal. Anyone else tested their Freestyle Libre to see it's signal strength? Ifbso what was it. Since I can only test 1 at a time I can't tell if it's just this sensor or common.
Hey everyone. I’ve been looking at FreeStyle Libre sensors on Amazon UK, and I’m wondering if anyone knows whether insurance would still cover them if I buy from there? Or is it safer to stick with pharmacies or official sites to make sure I can get reimbursed?
Would love to hear your experiences or any advice? Thanks a lot!

Been using Libre3 for over a year with no problem, using Sugarpixel for months, no problem, past few wks, nothing but problems.
Reinstalled the Libre app 2 days ago in spite of losing data, now all updating ok, but Bluetooth keeps dropping.
I use bluetooth for watch, and few other things, nothing new for months, I also use linkup for wifes phone and Libreview for docs office, just suddenly it keeps dropping the sensor.
I either have to force the app to stop, or app crashes, restart, then all fine...
Anyone else experiencing odd behaviors?
I use a libre2 and an iPhone 13, recently with multiple sensors I have been having an issue with the alarm (high or low) going off three, four, five times when I have dismissed it the first time. It’s not from my levels bouncing at the alert line either, I can be going straight up and getting alarmed at 9 and then 10 then 11 etc. it’s really frustrating as I hate the alarm noise. Anyone had this or know how to stop it? Thank you!
I just received 3 month supply of Freestyle Libre 3 sensors from my mail order pharmacy. All sensors have same Lot number and expiration date T60002574 2025-05-31
1st one - I applied as noted on the instructions. Waited 60 minutes and display showed low reading of 58. Did a finger stick with test strip and my glucose meter displayed 98. Several hours passed and message appeared lost connection and message to try again in 2 hours. After waiting, I consistently got low glucose readings, alarm went off multiple times so I did another finger stick, meter displayed BS was 89. Finally message appeared Sensor not working and to replace with new sensor. Called Abbott customer service, reported the issue and replacement will be mailed ( received yesterday but they sent me a wrong sensor, the Libre 2)
2nd sensor applied 2 hours after contacting CS - I applied on opposite arm, hurt pretty bad, waited 60 minutes, got consistent low glucose readings, graph in the red, message to wait 2 hours and try again. New message to wait 6 hours then try again So I went to bed. Next morning, message sensor not working and to replace it. I removed the bad sensor and had the biggest hematoma the size of a silver dollar where the sensor was. No wonder it was painful and felt sore. Lump still hasn’t dissolved. Took pictures to show my doctor tomorrow. This one I reported online, answered the questions listed and replacement was ordered ( received this replacement on Saturday too ).
3rd sensor applied on arm I removed the 1st sensor from but a little higher up. Waited 60 minutes, finally glucose reading was in the black (76) so I used a test strip, used glucose meter and BS was 89. Looked as if I’d have better luck with this one. After 2 hours error messages appeared. Connection reestablished again, glucose reading was in the 50s, never went back to black and within 6 hours message appeared to replace sensor. I removed it and now I have another large bruise on this arm too.
This is the worst experience I’ve had using CGMs and unacceptable. I contacted the manufacturer again, this time not only to report defective sensor and get another replacement but to file a complaint regarding the injury these sensors have caused me. I provided them with the lot number and the expiration date printed on the sensors I received from mail order pharmacy And recommended they improve their quality assurance to keep others from getting hurt.
After my call with Abbott I contacted my mail order pharmacy to report the defective sensors I received. 3 out of 7 defective. Not even thinking about applying the others I have from same Lot number especially when these sensors caused hematomas/bruising on my arms. Advised them to contact Abbott and inform them of the defective sensors reported to them and hopefully Abbott adds this Lot number to recalled defective sensors. My pharmacy also advised me to contact my medical insurance provider and request an Overide so the pharmacy can fill a new prescription for the Freestyle Libre 3+
So now I have to ask my doctor to fax in a new RX for the Freestyle Libre 3+ or go back to the Libre 2 I used for over a year with no issues. In the meantime, I’m going to do finger sticks to check my blood sugar till my arms heal from the trauma the sensors caused.
Anyhow, if you’ve read this far, I sure hope you have had a much better experience with your Freestyle Libre 3 sensors. I’m seriously considering contacting the FDA to report this to them. Hopefully they’ll require Abbott to have better quality control for these sensors before distributing to the public. It’s bad enough getting false Low Glucose Alarms, now also causing injury to customers’ upper arms.
Good luck everyone. Thank you for giving me a place to vent my frustration.
I am switching phones. I have a week left on my 3+ sensor. Does that mean I need to install a new sensor for the new phone? Or can the in use sensor link to a different new phone?
TIA
I called and got a replacement because my blood sugar with my glucometer was around 290 at 3 am and 160 at 9 am. It was my first bad experience with a rep as well, I was being asked questions I hadn’t been asked before such as which way the arrows were facing in the logbook and being told if the arrows were steady then my blood sugar was fine and not going up or down (????) ma’am I’m telling you that my blood sugar is almost 250 points off.
I ended up hanging up and calling again to get a new rep when she said she was unsure what to do and would need to ask someone after 45 minutes of trying to get her to understand the issue even with her looking at my log. Not a great first try switching from the regular 3 to the plus :/
I had to replace a sensor an hour ago, which I did. But the app will not let me scan the new one… I can see there was an update installed today (3.6.3 NL for iPhone). The screen stays stuck (see picture). Now what?
