I just moved in Fredericton and I’m looking to join clubs and meet new people. I’m into any kind of sport/outdoor activities (running, cross country skiing, etc.), board games, wine. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
I've come across a small handful of fellow systems locally. I would love to get to know any systems in the city!
If you're a system, feel free to reach out!
Anyone know where or who might be able to fix my old record player? The turntable isn’t spinning anymore. The rest of it works great.
It was my grandpas so I’m not keen on just replacing it
Found quite a few in the area does anyone have any opinions on them? Speed and quality is more of my concern than cost.
Where in the city are there ice surfaces to play hockey on? Not just for skating. Also open to any frozen lakes or rivers that anybody knows of that are safe to skate on, I realize that will depend on what the winter is like though
I have severe dental/medical anxiety to the point that I have avoided going for years. Would love some recommendations for dentists who are good with really anxious patients!
Does anybody have a good recommendation for an electrician (clean work and fair price) who can install a seperate box to run a generator and power specific breakers in the house?
Just wondering what are other Fredericton taxpayers thoughts on this? Is it fair to small business owners who are equally victimized by theft and mischief, who can’t afford such a service? One might wonder if a neighbourhood could pool their money together and hire a dedicated police officer to walk their beat nightly and constantly do the rounds for the same price. These officers are using taxpayer funded equipment to do this paid service. Could taxpayers also rent out city equipment and staff for things like tree or snow removal?
I lived in Maine but my family and I moving to Fredericton Canada as Trump is becoming president again.
My name is Kevin I am 24 thought I would introduce myself to the Reddit community of Fredericton.
I think I require a tooth extraction - large cavity that has now eaten the tooth down to my gum line. I have quite literally no money right now to get this done. Are there any dentists that do payment plans and what am I looking at generally for cost? I haven’t been to the dentist in over 10 years and my teeth are not in great shape so I’m hoping there’s someone no judgemental as well!
After hearing great things we decided to try it out, wow what a disappointment, it is in no way bbq. The first thing I noticed was no smoke ring on any of the meet. After tasting it I know why, the meats are more of a pot roast, nothing has seen any smoke or flame, at times it almost seemed boiled. Even at rib fest they put the ribs on a grill to try and caramelize the bbq sauce, but they did not even do that. If you are looking for a pot roast like your mom made, you will like it, if you are looking for BBQ look some where else.
I can say the portion sizes seemed large, and the sides were OK at best.
Anybody notice McDicks has dick all on the menu the last few days ? They told me condiments were on back order today along with 2/3 of the chicken menu.
I got a requisition for bloodwork from eVisitNB. I was wondering if the bloodwork is covered under NB Medicare. I was looking to book an appointment with Everett Chalmers Hospital but they are fully booked for a while so I was looking to go to the King St Walk In Blood Clinic. They have a $25 fee written which I am not sure if its covered or not. Is this also case by case basis? Like would it not be covered at all or would it only be covered at a hospital and not at a clinic like the king st one? I’m a bit confused on the coverage and would appreciate the help.
Looking for the best Chinese food restaurant around here! What are my options?
Did anyone else find the parade totally underwhelming this year?
There was barely any music or floats engaging with the crowd. Most people sitting in a vehicle or on a float weren’t even waving.
I know it takes a lot of time and organization to enter a float but for the 50th anniversary it was so disappointing.
I am a young person living in Fredericton, with reliable access to transportation and availability literally any time (weekends, evenings, holidays). I have a bachelors in business-marketing from Kwantlen Polytechnic University in British Columbia and over 10 years of experience in retail/sales environments. When the provincial exams were still a thing, I ranked amongst the highest in the entire country for my reading and writing capabilities. I am very comfortable with computers and data/word processing programs like Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and the Adobe cloud.
I have sent out hundreds of applications, for both remote and Fredericton-based positions, including retail associate, salesperson, management, and some contractor positions. I've only received 1 interview at UNB which I was not selected for. If you happen to work somewhere that needs someone like me, I am more than willing to send in a resume to whoever needs it. I am willing and able to do most retail/office work and I know I am more than capable to wow someone with my talent. If there is something I do not know, I know how to Google and am open to learning and experiencing new things.
I know reddit is a weird place to post this, but I have been looking for a job for over 8 months with little to show for it - I am also posting on other social media sites as job searching websites do not seem to get me very far with employers. If anyone is able to get me in contact with someone, I would be more than thankful. Even if you do not, thank you for reading my post as I know most employers don't even look at what I send them.
Been looking to buy in Fredericton (or surrounding area) for well over a year now. I’ve been told to avoid the north side by friends that have lived locally much longer than I have.. but is it really that bad?! I feel like there aren’t many places that can be considered “good” any more with the crime rates rapidly increasing everywhere. The market seems fairly consistent (and insanely overpriced) across the board. Are there any pros/cons that I should note for any specific area that are within 25 mins of the downtown core that would change the playing field a little? Thanks!
So I just learned that Maple is supposed to be free?? I've been paying $90/month for it. Anyone know how I can stop paying for it, but still use the service?
Power came back, rebooted router multiple times. Tested on numerous devices. No internet. Go and check out the router: “weak fiber signal” displayed on the Bell router itself as a notice with red flashing light. Reboot again. Same scenario.
Head over to bell website to check outage “no outage in your area. Click this link to triage.” Clicks link. “Log into account”. Logs into account. Gives 9700 tips on restarting my router and devices.
Bell, your own hardware knows it’s a YOU problem. Why can’t I just “report” the outage without having to go to a third party service like “down dector.com”?
Fake news and sad corp loop hole.
Please fix.
PS - fix ur shit
Is anyone interested in meeting up for board games? I love board games and puzzles but all my friends don’t interested in board games at all.
I’m in my early 20s and most of the stuff I enjoy doing, my friends don't 😂😂 and you can’t play board games alone lol
Anyone else think the power goes out more easily these days? I didn't expect such a big outage from the first snowfall of the season - I read transformers were blowing up all over town, it seems odd.
Hi there, I am trying to reach Valley Vet in Lincoln and keep getting a busy signal or immediate hang up. I'm wondering if lines are down due to storms or something or if I should keep trying. I'm out of province right now so don't know! Anyone have intel?
I find it strange that much of the reddit posts in this community could be solved by common sense and an internet connection.
I guess I'm reaching out to all generations here. Why do some know how to find information for themselves and others don't? Why do everyday problems seem to be an emergency for some? Also, why reach out to a group of strangers before Google, youtube, trusted friends, family, or any other thing? Is it the pretend points system?
Do others get satisfaction giving rudimentary answers to people? In Middle school, teachers give people the tools to find the answers themselves instead of the answers so they can learn. Are we doing a service to our citizens by not?
Thanks for your input.
Check your blind spots, eh? And maybe don't do a U-Turn directly in front of oncoming highway traffic. 🤦♂️
Is there anywhere in Freddy you can withdraw money from an atm using a Tangerine bank card without atm fees? I know you’re supposed to be able to use them at Scotia bank but I have tried and the machines never let me take money out.
I lost power sometime overnight. I expected that it would be back by now but isn’t. I’m pretty stressed because I’m a student and really can’t afford to lose this day. I guess I’m going to have to pack up and go to the unb library, but I honestly work best at home. I’m an out of province student and I have never lost power back home from a storm of this size and when I have lost power it’s been restored pretty quickly. Is this normal? Should I expect my power to come back today?
When it was snowing me and my friend saw the sky light up with a green light not once but twice. Does anyone know what this is? I've never seen this happen before.
I don’t drive yet so it is definitely easier for me to say, but I love seeing snow finally!! I’m new to the area so if anyone has any info on how transit does or plowing, it would be appreciated!
Also stay safe on the roads, friendly reminder! :)
