Robin Hood’s Bay, UK, non ferrous

Hi. I found this on the beach. Thought it might be iron at first but it’s not magnetic. Is it fossilised wood?

Northeast PA near creek.

About 8 inches long. I find plenty of shells and crinoids normally so I'm guessing this is just a worn down one but wanted to be sure. Thanks in advance for any help!
