Please tell us where you found a particular fossil (does not need to be the precise location). This will aid in the identification process. If you happen to know what age or rock formation it came from, please include this information! For users in the USA, you can find a geologic map for your state here, in Google Earth format (KML / KMZ). This looks like a little creature of some kind but I don't know. Stone is from North Africa.
Was looking at fossils in this formation from the mid-Devonian that were mostly crinoid sections, brachiopods, different corals and bryozoans. Most of the bryozoans had grid-type tabulate morphology, but I found this one with a tapered(?) shape that looks almost looks like a leaf. I showed this to my professors and they weren’t sure why/what would have this shape. Unfortunately we weren’t able to take anything from there so this is the only picture I have :/
There are two in the stone.
It’s about 30 to 50cm long.
I found this rock near St. Louis, MO. It has some horned coral fossils and also quartz. I saw the thin white lines and was wondering if it was just scratches or an actual fossil. I think there's some parts of a fossilized coral, but I'm not 100% sure.
