Found a fossil? Submit a post here containing a few images, and we'll figure out what it is!

Submit pics of fossils you have found, and would like to know more about!

Users are encouraged to include a scale reference! (A coin, ruler, etc!)

Please tell us where you found a particular fossil (does not need to be the precise location). This will aid in the identification process. If you happen to know what age or rock formation it came from, please include this information! For users in the USA, you can find a geologic map for your state here, in Google Earth format (KML / KMZ). I don't think I will listen to people anymore!

I found this. I could shake it and hear little things rattling around. A friend said it was a geode, and finally convinced me to cut it. I could tell it was not a geode but they promised me that it was. I don't like people anymore...

Crinoid calyx?

Saw this on FB marketplace and wasn’t sure what to think. It looks more like a naturally occurring texture than fossil to me, but I’m not an expert.

Found in a rock tumbler

The kiddos got a rock tumbler for Xmas and this was one of the rocks. Any ideas on what the tiny seaweed looking thing is?

Any idea what this is?

I found it in North Texas while on a trip. I was being a caveman and smashing rocks together and found this. Any idea what it might be?
