Hi everyone! My friends and I are looking to try some new restaurants. We usually gather in the Gainesville area, but are able to go as far north as Dawsonville and as far south as Cumming. I’d especially love to find some new sushi places to try. What are y’all’s favorite places to eat?
I was googling for Salt Rising Bread in Cumming and came across this place I've never heard of before. Says their hours but I couldn't find an address. Just find it strange I've never even heard of it.
I am searching for a private school for my rising 9th grader. I’m between Kings Ridge Christian School, Pinecrest Academy, Saint Francis School. Does anybody have any insights of any of these schools.
I am looking for a diverse school.
As we approach Thanksgiving, we are preparing to serve hundreds of families in need at The Place.
This year, we are committed to giving out 425 turkeys so that each of our clients can gather with their loved ones for a warm Thanksgiving meal.
However, we still need over 300 turkeys to make this possible. Thank you to the generous community partners who have committed over 100 turkeys and $300 so far.
We’re reaching out to our incredible supporters to help close this gap. Each donation, whether large or small, brings us closer to ensuring every family who turns to us has the opportunity to enjoy this holiday season.
A gift of $30 provides a turkey for a family’s table, and every dollar truly counts.

Hey, this is my first time posting, so I'll be brief. I'm a Sophmore right now taking all on level courses along side AP Psych. I wanna know if I could ask for a level change during second semester because I have all 97% in my classes, 92% in AP Psychology. Idk if I'm allowed to, so if anyone has the answer or useful info, pls help!
Did anyone else hear a big boom at about 835pm? Felt like something hit my roof and shook my house. Couple neighbors heard it too.
Wild guess that it might have been a meteor blew up in the atmosphere, hoping someone maybe caught a glimpse of it?
Tim Hortons in Suwanee on Vaughn Rd. It was supposed open October 19th. My wife and went the 19th and 20th and it’s still closed. Any updates?
Hello, I’m looking for a British Shorthair kitten, anyone know where I can adopt or buy one?
Anyone interested in attending competitive dodgeball tonight? Around a 25 minute drive from Forsyth. Free, tonight! Really great group — comment for more details.
She said that she can't get child care for less than $1400 a month per child in Forsyth (which assuming a full 52 weeks means around $323.00/week).
If anyone knows Rachel, they should suggest Kid Central just off of exit 17. Great folks. Only $250.00/$240.00 for day care for kids 2+ and they have open slots at various ages right now. It's a no frills kinda place, but my kids loves them.
edit: edited phrasing because I felt like it made it sound like her statement was made in bad faith.
What are the best neighborhoods in the area to drive around and look at Halloween lights?
Not sure if we'll be in Cumming or Kennesaw but any recommendations for a birthday? She's not too picky but isn't huge on Italian
So, thought I'd found a new doctor's office because I'm sick of all the office consolidations into corporate entities. Went to what I thought was an annual exam but it was a consultation. I scheduled my physical and said I wanted an OB/GYN exam as well. They said that due to insurance it had to be done in 2 appointments. I've been having my women's wellness exam at the same time as my physical for years so I called the insurance company. They said "Yes, you can do both at the same time". Called my new doctor's office back and they basically said "Sorry office policy that you have to do them separate days or you can pay $145 for the women's wellness exam and have them done at the same time". But, if I go to 2 separate appointments on different days then I don't have to pay anything?!?! So I cancelled my appt.
Found someone else highly recommended I was going to change to- same policy.
I feel like I'm losing my mind. Anyone have any insight into this? Is it simply a new policy since I went last year? Or is it because these corporate offices have different policies and that's why I did them at the same time for years?
Then, anyone have any recommendations for internist (I guess - regular doctor for physicals) that isn't Village Medical or Southeast Medical Group?
UPDATE: Deputy called me back to thank me for the dash cam video and said she’s fine! Apparently didn’t even break bone! Can’t believe it but I’m stoked! She flipped end over end and landed atleast 30 feet from where she got hit. Amazing she didn’t have any broken bones. I’m sure she has a concussion though. I didn’t ask but she lost consciousness so that’s usually the deal.
was at the intersection of Windmere and Old Atlanta around 6:45am. A young girl (maybe 13-15) was trying to cross Windmere during a green light and ran in front of a car. She got hit pretty hard and went about 10ft in the air and 30 or so feet from the crosswalk. She was unconscious. Everyone jumped out of their car to check on her. The person driving was by her side an looked about distraught as you’d imagine. She didn’t see her at all. It was pitch black except headlights and the girl was running. I checked my dashcam video of the incident and the driver didn’t have a chance to avoid her. I stayed for bit but there was nothing I could do. No one wanted to move her for obvious reasons. I just moved my vehicle out of the road to make room for EMS and later contacted the non-emergency line to let them know I have dashcam footage of the incident. The dispatcher said she was alive when I asked if she “made it”. I submitted the video to the deputy investigating but didn’t ask him if she was ok.
Does anyone here know her condition? I don’t want any details, just a “she’s gonna be ok” or not. I’ve been thinking about it all day. I’m sure the woman that hit her is going through it right now. I’d like her to know I don’t think there wasn’t anything she could have done from my view (if that’s any consultation).
Does anyone have any info on when the Chick-fil-A at the Collection will reopen? It’s been months already and still closed for remodeling. 😭
How are we voting on the ballot measures?
My face and hair have been a mess since post partum. I had a history of acne but it was all resolved years before I got married and had kids. Now it just seems like I'm back in my early 20s. Last one year (since my son's first birthday) it's been really painful with my face and quality of hair. Appreciate if any of the moms can pls share their experience and possibly point me to a reliable doctor who wouldn't rip me off in the Alpharetta, Milton, cumming, Roswell area. I don't mind driving further out if the doctor is truly amazing.
Thanks a lot in advance.
Welcome to the Family: Washington's Wharf
The Cumming City Center is excited to welcome Washington's Wharf in the location previously occupied by Wright's Fish & Chips. Albert and Amanda Reeves, owners of Washington Street Deli and the former Monkey Barrel restaurant, both in downtown Gainesville, signed a lease on Sept. 19th. Washington's Wharf will bring traditional-style British fish & chips, as well as seasoned fish & chips and other favorites like fish sandwiches, deli sandwiches, and chicken tenders. Plans also include adding a bar for a warm, pub-like feel! The Reeves hope to open Washington's Wharf by early November. Be sure to follow Washington's Wharf on Facebook for updates!
