Hey all! As a Canadian, I feel like we have a more limited selection of formula options than in the US. I just took a quick trip down to Washington and saw the cool RTF Enfamil containers that we don’t get in Canada and picked up a few. Now what I don’t understand, and the package label isn’t making sense to me is, when I open the container, do I need to use up the whole container within the 24 hour period? Or if I opened the container, would the formula still be good if stored in the fridge until the date listed on the side of the bottle? Thank you in advance for your help!
Looking to switch from Kendamil Classic/Organic to Kabrita - how has your experience been?
Just looking for real experiences of those who switched to goat milk in general and/or Kabrita.
I just got my Baby Brezza Pro and was testing it out and immediately noticed that it was dispensing .5 oz more of water when using “water only” mode. I.e. I would select 10oz and it was dispensing 10.5 oz. I reset the device by pressing and holding Start & Ounce buttons. It beeped and I noticed it changed to ML. I tried dispensing in ML and oddly enough, when I dispensed 270 ml, I got 268 ml (close enough for me). I switched back to ounces by resetting the device again, and it went back to delivering .5oz more water than requested. So, maybe this is a fix? I’ll be trying to do things in ML going forward. (Side note, Dr. Browns glass bottle ML measurements seem off, but that’s a different topic.) All testing performed using a kitchen scale. Hope this helps someone else!
Does anyone have experience comparing Bubs and ByHeart? Have you tried the formula for taste?
So we are transitioning from breast milk and formula to just formula and noticing baby passing ALOT of gas but when I check her diaper no stool. She isn't acting upset or uncomfortable and is taking all her bottles and sleeping well. So assuming she is fine but is this normal with just formula?
Anybody have good moving from enfamil to Kabrita goat?
Located in northeastern US. My local Costco didn't have gentlease in stock today. I asked a manager and he checked their system and it's on order, but he had no idea when they'll get another shipment. I didn't have time to check another store, but does anyone else have a similar experience?
Also I finished weaning yesterday so this is just my luck lol.
My goal was always to breast feed as long as I was able to with no stress to me or my girl. I have been supplementing formula since her birth 10/23 since my milk hasn’t come in yet and I just feel like such a crappy mom that my body can’t work for her. She is fed. She is gaining weight. And she is happy I keep repeating to my self. Is this just pp thoughts?
Recently switched my son to formula and I can’t with these middle of the night feeds with trying to use the bottle warmer. My son wants instant satisfaction and just cries and cries until it’s ready and it just takes too long. Looking for suggestions for best warm water dispenser? I know the baby brezza one is popular but seeing if anything else is out there.
TIA.
Just saw that Kroger was offering a $15 coupn for their 34oz can of Advantage Premium formula! If you use this formula or know someone who does this is quite the savings.
The lullaby I overheard my befriend singing. Just thought I would pass it on to the community!
Anyone else been asked to cut their cord on the pro advanced WiFi? I know that’s going to be the next step just waiting for them to ask me. I sent in all my evidence of faulty machine.
I have received both the “checks” in the mail and more generic coupons from my ped office with a scannable barcode and both of these I have had issues redeeming and most often been told by managers that the store can’t accept them because the code doesn’t work or the check won’t scan (target and rite aid refuse, cvs is a huge debacle that takes 20 minutes).
I’m mostly venting but also wondering if anyone has success at other stores
Any advice ladies? I can’t find it anywhere and their website said it was coming back in November, but now they’re stating December. We’re so stressed 😫
My 5mo has been on alimentim RTF since 3 weeks old. No allergies she was just colicky as a newborn and we found that this worked.
Do I need to switch to another formula? Been looking into ByHeart or Bobbie. I feel like maybe similac isn’t as “high quality” as these brands. The hospital gave Similac and I figured they wouldn’t give the most expensive thing so maybe it’s not the best quality?
I want the best quality of course but not sure what to do.
Our almost 5 month old has been on Nutramigen since he was 2 months old and we never had an issue with buying it from the store. Every time we went to the store they had tons of containers but the last few weeks every store that I’ve been to has only had maybe 2 or 3 small containers at a time, but they have a bunch of ready feed. Is there a shortage of some sort that I don’t know about because they have plenty of the other formulas.
I’m in Canada and when we buy gentlease it comes in this little silver bag so you can keep reusing the tub… but I am yet to see the formula bags being sold on their own without the tub haha. Has anyone come across them? I honestly dump the formula into the tub because the baggy gets so messy and powder goes everywhere.
As the subject reads! It’s not too much of an issue in the day. But at night, even at 5 months old, she will still wake up with bad gas. I give her gas drops before bed.
Is this a formula issue? Just luck of the draw?
Hello everyone,
We hope you're all doing well. This is our weekly thread to focus on a topic that resonates with many parents in our community: the transition from breastfeeding to formula feeding. Your Stories Matter
Many of you have bravely shared your experiences of dealing with breastfeeding difficulties and the tough choice to switch to formula feeding. Despite knowing that "fed is best," it's common to feel guilty about not continuing to breastfeed or pump. These feelings are valid, and you're not alone in this journey.
A New Support Thread

I’ve combo fed my 3.5 month old baby from the beginning, always nursing as much as possible and offering formula when she got too frustrated. Formula top ups were around 8 oz, went up to 10, and then stabilised at 2-3 (just one top up a day) for about the past month or so.
However, in the past 3 days, things have taken a sharp turn. We’ve been going through the 3 month nursing crisis but it’s suddenly gotten bad. For most feeds she thrashes around non stop, pops on and off the boob and cries, despite my best efforts, and only some feeds are pleasant and calm. We’ve had to feed her 7-10 oz each day and it feels like there are more topups every day.
I’m ok with transitioning to mostly formula. I don’t want to pump, and I don’t like wrestling with her when nursing is clearly not enjoyable for both of us. I’ve tried different positions, nursing when drowsy, in a dark room, taking a break and offering again, etc. I’m tired.
Does anyone have any advice on how to approach a shift towards more formula feeding? I hope that the process can be gradual to prevent clogs, and I would love if we could still nurse as she does seem to enjoy it sometimes. But I’m not sure how to approach the feeding schedule. Currently I offer to nurse before and after every nap, but clearly it’s not enough for her. Should I offer to nurse after a nap, then offer a 4 oz bottle? Or should I offer a smaller bottle and then offer to nurse? This is all rather confusing — thank you for any advice in advance 🥺
I posted a couple days ago but my situation has kinda escalated..baby has been on Kendamil Goat milk for 2 months but is completely refusing to drink it now. Literally will not even drink a couple sips. I haven’t changed anything for her but she just won’t do it. It’s been about 4 days of fussiness over it but now straight up won’t take it. My LO doesn’t have a cow allergy, she was just super sensitive so I switched to goat and she seemed to love it, and now idk what is going on! I overnighted PureBliss A2 (because that’s all that was available to overnight and idek if it will be good for her to switch from goat to cow) but has anyone experienced this???? Any advice? Desperate here, switching to 100% formula feeding has been so confusing :(
I am currently breastfeeding my 7 months old baby, but I am thinking to switch to formula since I ma pregnant in my third month, here in Congo the available formula available is NAN, anyone tried it? Is it good ? And any method to start the transition?
I'm due in December and would like to have some containers on-hand. Does anyone know if this brand ever has sales or shall I just order a few now? Thanks!
Planning ahead, still pregnant, never used formula before.
I read in the Fed Is Best book that in the first few days a newborn only eats like, .5-1oz per feed.
The formula I’d like to use/try comes in powder only. How do you handle that? Make 2oz, pour a small amount in a bottle & save the rest in the fridge for next time? Or would it be better to buy a pack of rtf & use those the first few days (pour a small amount in a bottle & save the rest for later in the fridge) & then once she’s eating 2oz at a time, switch to the powder & hope for the best (no digestive upset from switching formulas)? I suppose both concepts involve refrigerating the excess temporarily & it kind of feels like a silly question, but would there be a reason to do the rtf over powder temporarily (other than rtf is sterile, powder is not)? Just want to make sure I’m not missing something obvious.
Or do newborns actually eat more than that per feed during their first few days/week typically?
Praying someone can she some light. Our 9 month old has suspected cmpa. She’s been on kendamil since 5 months. Before that she was on similac pro advance since birth.
Today we were diagnosed with failure to thrive and suspected cmpa and told to cold turkey switch to Nutramigen. Well. She’s REFUSING to drink. Of course. It smells and tastes like dog food. I even added alcohol free vanilla. Nope. I also mixed with kendamil to see if that would entice her. Nope.
Please help. I’m so stressed over this. She can’t lose anymore weight so she can’t starve and she can’t stay on kendamil. I don’t know what to do 😭😭😭😭
My wife and I are first time parents. Our LO is coming up on four months, and the past several weeks she's been having thin stools, the kind that are completely absorbed by the diaper, with smaller amounts of stool per day overall. She still poops between 1-2 times a day, sometimes once every 36 hours or so, and has shown no signs of dehydration. She's gained plenty of weight since her 2mo check-up, and she sleeps pretty well, even considering sleep regression. We took her to the pediatrician and they suggested we spend five days on Alimentum formula to normalize the diarrhea, which it did. Overall, everyone we've talked to seems fairly unconcerned, but our only nagging worry is that her rectal temp has been hovering between 100.4 and 100.6. Are we overthinking it? Has anyone else experienced this kind of diarrhea with ByHeart, and is it to be expected? Should we worried about the rectal temp if the pediatrician didn't seem concerned? Thanks in advance.
Hi everyone! Wanted to share Maia - it's a free app that supports all feeding journeys, including formula and mixed feeding. You can easily track bottles, timing, and amounts (no judgement, just support!). Plus it sends encouraging messages because fed is best ❤️ Would love to hear what features would be most helpful for formula feeding parents.
