My friend and I have been looking at this for some time. We both played a lot of C&C/RA back when you needed two phone lines. Is the game dead? Just seems like former Westwood employees would know how to do this.
Now that the game is out of Early Access, are there any plans for adding Achievements to this game?
It was nice having achievements in earlier games like 8Bit and Grey Goo
I find that I cannot build more than one thing at a time. This really slows things down when I have 2 or 3 outposts. Is there a way for me to upgrade my base such that I can do that. Also is there a way to have unit producing building simultaneously build units in different locations if you have a few of those?
Im still in search for the next Red Alert... Played the 8bit but theres barely anyone online to play with. Hopefully this one will be massive.
well they said it'd take approx. 6 months in early access on steam page.. so any word from the devs ??
Hi,
Would FB work on a Microsoft Surface Pro 4?
I have 8gb ram i7 Intel(R) Iris(TM) Graphics 540.
Thanks!
Is this game like 8 bit armies? How similar are they?
After a recent update, my Forged Battalion game requires me to validate its files each time I launch itm otherwise it cannot start any games. The button stays as "invalid" in skirmish, and campaign missions get stuck in loading. Anyone else having this issue?
I've considered reinstalling, but would doing so help? if so, would I lose my unlocked tech and vehicles?
-Fourth turret slot? Is 4 too much? discuss.
-Being able to zoom out a bit more
-Moddable harvesters (stealth harvesters anyone?)
-More relevancy for hover chassis (has one very situational advantage that rarely comes up)
-Some sort of radar thing for light vehicles thats like a short range predictive radar (might make hq upgrade irrelevant however, please discuss) or perhaps even a radar jammer that blocks out that part of the minimap from the enemy (a la RA1)
-Oil derricks or some kind of capturable thing that provides resources slowly over time. That or something that replenishes the resources slowly over time like Tiberium trees/Ore drills
-various weapon balances: gravitic cannons are nearly op, fusion cannons are kinda meh but fun, flame throwers seem kinda underpowered, especially when compared to the acid sprayer and dragon flame.
-Multiple choices of themes for aesthetics for your faction. No effect in game (that could also be neat though) so like, maybe you wanna look like the spikey evil guys, or the sleek high tech guys, or the practical boxy guys etc.
Im sure there's more I can think of later. What are your thoughts on these ideas? What ideas do you have that you would like to see implemented into the game?
The first thing that actually bugged me when I first got ingame... I'm probably getting used to it but I'd love being able to zoom out just a little bit more. You can also give us the option of decreasing the minimum zoom so people who face performance issues can leave this untouched (although I think the performance of this game seems really good and everyone should be fine).
What do you guys think?
Hey guys,
just got the game 2 days ago, played 3 missions and 2 1v1s against a friend so already and I'm very happy with the game so far. I have a couple of questions tho.
If there's a second resource mine group next to my base, how fast am I supposed to build a refinery there? Is it one of the first steps or a thing I do after I have my barracks and light tank manufaction ready and created some units?
How many harvesters do you run with? I normally go for 3 early game (1st refinery) and 5 for early-mid game (when the second refinery goes up. Should I build more? Should I build less?
From watching some 1v1 of better players than me, the game seems to be dominated by the buggys until mid-late game. I see most people using the plasma buggys in combination with rocket heavy tanks. Hardly anyone uses machine guns, is that right? is infantry only used in the first couple of minutes? Would this change if the travel speed would be higher?
Do the plasma infantry or flamethrowers or the acid guys make any sense to you or are you just using rocket and machinegun guys in early game and then go for buggys and tanks?
At what time should I have my command center up?
How important is taking an outpost, if there's no resources near it? Is building a second base ALWAYS worth it?
(and the most important question for me) How do I control my (mass of) units in a fight against other (mass of) units?
Am I supposed to klick them one by one? Am I supposed to build up in frontt of them letting them fight on their own? Am I supposed to dive into the enemy bubble? Does it give me an advantage if I'm attacking from 2 sites, even if that means that I have to split my units, or is it mostly better to go for one big bubble?
Thank you very much in advance guys. Feel free to throw out tips for the skill tree aswell. Like must haves and things nobody needs. I'm very far from building a consistent lane up and mostly go just for things I feel sound strong.
Title.
I prefer an infantry unit containing of 4 - 5 soldiers which are smaller than one giant mech.
Anyone else?
-Same travel speed for a group of different units
-formations
so I love me some hover tanks. I love all the things actually. but I wanted to be unique in my little group of friends and be the guy with hover tanks. The description for them states that they can traverse certain watery areas. I have yet to find a place that hover vehicles can go that others can not. What is the benefit of hover over the other mobility upgrades?
thank you
What kinds of battalions are you folks using? I've got myself some themed ones here: https://imgur.com/a/OGk4B
But I am interested in seeing yours!
Is there any activity online multiplayer? I bought the game today and couldn't find a match.
Since the last update i can't play any games do other people also have this problem? (Solved by patch)
I get close, but that guy has a ton of health.
I was trying to find out if there is a way to set all units to a single waypoint or if I have to individually click the 4 unit buildings? If not that would be a cool feature to add. If so... whats the hotkey?
In any game where you create an army or deck, it is common that a select few builds are found to be the best.
My suggestion is to make a competitive multiplayer mode where you must win 2 out of 3 games to win a match, and between each game you can select a certain number of your own prebuilt units to be swapped out and used for the next game. This should be a number that is something like half of your army.
What this would do is act like a 'sideboard' in MTG, where it alleviates the Rock/Paper/Scissors issue of having a few best builds that are always identical, since you can dynamically change your loadout based on what you learn in the first round of play.
So if you are playing an aerial based army, and it just so happens the opponent had a lot of anti-air units, in the next round you can swap out some aircraft for units you think will counter his loadout.
However the strategy really comes from then anticipating what your opponent may swap out, and deciding whether to try and play around your prediction of their new loadout, or just counter the army you already have experience fighting.
You should not be able to change your entire army however, so building a fairly well rounded army and not a cheesy gimmick army is encouraged, as well maintaining a kind of army identity and actually needing to modify it intelligently between rounds to succeed.
I think this would also lessen balance issues with individual units, since ideally you would be able to swap to units that are hard counters to 'OP' loadouts, so while they may technically be the more powerful unit choice, just knowing that you will be facing them allows you to choose very specific counters that are powerful in that one regard, which is all you will need for that round.
I'm excited because the rough outline of the game with the different units and the base reminds me of Command and Conquer :)
first of all; thanks for yet another great rts game; this game is unique to me since i love it's progression system; barely any rts does that outside of single player .. but i am afraid that eventually you might think of scrapping it or limiting it to the single player part of the game since it might make multiplayer games inbalanced.
if you want to satisfy people who want a level playing field in mp. make another mode for them .. however i enjoyed the multiplayer battles soo much with my own custom units and my own hard earned research; and every game felt rewarding since i get to make my overall faction stronger.
i know as the game attracts more players; it will present some issue with multiplayer matches ; but if that is to happen please make another game mode while keeping this mode as it is :D .. thanks for the awesome game.
