Subreddit Rules:

1 - No off-subreddit discussion (soliciting for DMs,) or promotion of your trader group or chatroom.

Comments must be related to the question. No attempts to take the discussion off the subreddit are allowed (via PM, 3rd party chatroom, etc.)

No posts promoting your 3rd party trader group or chatroom.

This is a zero tolerance rules, and will result in a perma-ban without the option to appeal.

2 - No external links or mentions to video sites (YouTube, etc.) Videos must use Reddit Video embeds.

Posts to video sites, including YouTube, are barred.

This includes direct links, and recommendations to watch a video, or a description of how to get to the video ("look up so-and-so on youtube, thank me later")

If you want to post your own content here, you can do so using Reddit Video embeds, so long as the video does not include mentions of external sites (calling out your social media / YouTube accounts.)

This is a zero tolerance rule, and you risk a perma-ban for not following it.

3 - No Promotional Activity or Advertisements

Do not self promote here. Doing so risks your brand being blacklisted by our spam filters.

Any promotional activity will result in a ban. You will have limited ability to appeal.

4 - No Promotion / Linking / Mentioning of your Social Media (IG, FB, Twitter, etc..) Accounts

This goes along with the rule about not taking the conversation off-site. Dropping your IG link will get you banned. Period.

5 - If you post a chart setup or trade idea. (Post Requirements)

You must be willing to explain your analysis and reasoning for any given chart or trade you post, or else the post will be taken down.

Empty charts without annotations are useless.

Subjective reasons for a trade do not help others learn or understand what you are doing.

Provide practical and tangible reasons for your trade / chart setup so people can follow along with you.

6 - No Signals / Signals Promotion

This falls under the posting charts rule where you must provide a detailed overview and context to your trade, but specifically singles out the posting of trade 'signals' with any commercial intent.

7 - Keep It Professional and Friendly!

No insults or attacks of any kind. Abusive posters will be banned. We don't care if they called you names first; report the abuse to us and we will deal with the offending party (getting into a name calling spat will likely just get all parties involved banned.)

8 - No Gain / Loss (P/L) Porn

We don't care how much money you made or lost. Context is everything, and risk metrics matter. Do not post your P/L Porn here unless you're prepared to give a detailed account of your strategy and all factors that went into generating said P/L.

9 - NO CRYPTO - We are not a crypto sub.

There are a plethora of subs devoted crypto topics. We are not one of them.

This sub deals with fiat currencies backed by governments.

Even if your forex broker offers Crypto CFDs, it is still considered off-topic here.

10 - MEMEs are for weekends only!

General idea: Business during the week, party on the weekend. MEMEs posted during the week will be removed, and MEMEs posted on the weekends will stay up but may be removed once Monday starts.

When is the weekend? from 4:30PM EST Friday, to 4:30 EST Sunday.

The ONLY exception is bank holidays when markets are either closed or illiquid with little trading activity.

11 - Mods can remove posts, comments, or ban users at their discretion. Do not argue with mod decisions.

Even if no rule was technically violated. The mods reserve the right to scrub posts, comments, and users from the subreddit in the spirit of keeping the community clean and without bias.

Sugar Futures.

I am back to being bullish on Sugar, I would like to see price comeback to do a higher low, before higher prices fully register. Watching it closely.

This is why the Forex Market is about to crash.

The forex market operates on a global scale and involves trading currencies from various countries. As such, it is influenced by a myriad of factors, including economic indicators, geopolitical events, and market sentiment. While the forex market is not entirely recession-proof, it does exhibit some characteristics that can make it more resilient during economic downturns. One of these characteristics is the global nature of the market. In recent decades the recessions that we have experienced (2008 Financial Crisis and COVID-19 pandemic) have been global phenomena. In the face of these global recessions, people turn to the US dollar as a safe haven as they trust it will hold value. This predictable behaviour may allow forex traders to profit from a recession. With more localised recessions (recessions that only affect certain regions) forex traders can exploit these differences in economic prosperity across regions in their trades to make a profit. Also, I have no idea what I’m talking about.

Setups for the past 3 days

What are your thoughts about these setups? Traded a demo account for the last 2 years cause I didn't have the capital nor the courage to go live. Now I've been profitable on a live account for the past 2 months

Why do people not learn about fundamentals, intermarket, and sentiment analysis?

My opinion is people learn technical analysis because it is significantly easier than studying market fundamentals, intermarket and sentiment. That being said, technical analysis is just a small part of a greater whole in trading. It might be sufficient to make some bucks here and there but will not let you realize your full potential as a trader. What do you guys think?

TP strategy crisis!!

Hey fellow forex traders! 📈 After a grueling 1.5-year journey, I've found my own profitable strategy with a 1:2 risk-reward ratio and a roughly 50% win rate. It's all about spotting trendline breakouts at 1-minute intervals near major support and resistance levels. Simple, yet effective!

But here's the kicker: sometimes my trades skyrocket to 1:5, 1:8, or even 1:12 returns. 🚀 So, I dove into experimenting with various take-profit strategies. I've gathered insights from countless hours of podcasts, advice from profitable trader pals, books, YouTube vids—you name it.

Here are some TP strategies I've explored:

  1. Simple 1:2R
  2. Trail SL with no set TP
  3. Trail SL with TP at next major S/R (e.g., H1, H4)
  4. Take partial TP at 1:2 RR and trail the rest
  5. Partial TP at different minor S/R levels
  6. Set BE at 1:1 RR, 1:1.5 RR etc
  7. No BE at all

BUMMER! I tried to analyse these in different combinations, but the number of permutations are melting my super quantum computer.

So, my dilemma is this: simplicity versus optimization. How do you strike the balance? What's your go-to TP strategy, and why? Let's share insights and conquer this TP strategy crisis together! 🌟

Psychology of trader

Its the first time to post here .

I am gold scalper i have great skills in scalping ,My win rate could be 95% . In 15th of april i started with 20$ ended with 450$ at 17th Morning of 18th i got a stoploss then i lost the control ended with 5$ in less than 1 hour

Before 1 hour i started to work on the 5$ ended with 90 in less than 45 minutes then i lost the control. Again 90$ ended with 3.5 dollars

Then 3.5 went to 30 dollars then i lost them all again

I am not a gambler , not risking more than 5% in a trade

The only step that stopping me from being consistanly profitable is the mind control and discipline

Have you suffered from the same thing at the beginning and how did you solve it ?

My friend got into forex about a year ago and made a lot of money from trading because his teacher taught him how to start. But now he is trying to help me get into it and we both do not know what broker for me to use and he does not know what broker he used. keep in mind we are both teenagers while most brokers require people to be 18+

Fundamental Analysis

Hello.

I've been trading for a bout 2 years now. recently, I've noticed that while I do make som3 profits from trading purely relying on Technical Analysis, it seems that the only way for me tl grow is by learning the Fundamental side of trading.

That being said, I would like to ask your advice on where can I learn how to understand or interpret Fundamental news. Such as employment rates, bond rates and/or interests rates.

I no longer want to rely solely on the chart analysis, I really wish to also learn the other side of trading as well.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
