Welcome to FXGears.com's Reddit Forex Trading Community! Here you can converse about trading ideas, strategies, trading psychology, and nearly everything in between!
We also have one of the largest forex chatrooms online!
/r/Forex is the official subreddit of FXGears.com, a trading forum run by professional traders. FXGears.com hosts and moderates our chatroom, and runs Volatility.RED as a resource site for traders.
Comments must be related to the question. No attempts to take the discussion off the subreddit are allowed (via PM, 3rd party chatroom, etc.)
No posts promoting your 3rd party trader group or chatroom.
This is a zero tolerance rules, and will result in a perma-ban without the option to appeal.
Posts to video sites, including YouTube, are barred.
This includes direct links, and recommendations to watch a video, or a description of how to get to the video ("look up so-and-so on youtube, thank me later")
If you want to post your own content here, you can do so using Reddit Video embeds, so long as the video does not include mentions of external sites (calling out your social media / YouTube accounts.)
This is a zero tolerance rule, and you risk a perma-ban for not following it.
Do not self promote here. Doing so risks your brand being blacklisted by our spam filters.
Any promotional activity will result in a ban. You will have limited ability to appeal.
This goes along with the rule about not taking the conversation off-site. Dropping your IG link will get you banned. Period.
You must be willing to explain your analysis and reasoning for any given chart or trade you post, or else the post will be taken down.
Empty charts without annotations are useless.
Subjective reasons for a trade do not help others learn or understand what you are doing.
Provide practical and tangible reasons for your trade / chart setup so people can follow along with you.
This falls under the posting charts rule where you must provide a detailed overview and context to your trade, but specifically singles out the posting of trade 'signals' with any commercial intent.
No insults or attacks of any kind. Abusive posters will be banned. We don't care if they called you names first; report the abuse to us and we will deal with the offending party (getting into a name calling spat will likely just get all parties involved banned.)
We don't care how much money you made or lost. Context is everything, and risk metrics matter. Do not post your P/L Porn here unless you're prepared to give a detailed account of your strategy and all factors that went into generating said P/L.
There are a plethora of subs devoted crypto topics. We are not one of them.
This sub deals with fiat currencies backed by governments.
Even if your forex broker offers Crypto CFDs, it is still considered off-topic here.
General idea: Business during the week, party on the weekend. MEMEs posted during the week will be removed, and MEMEs posted on the weekends will stay up but may be removed once Monday starts.
When is the weekend? from 4:30PM EST Friday, to 4:30 EST Sunday.
The ONLY exception is bank holidays when markets are either closed or illiquid with little trading activity.
Even if no rule was technically violated. The mods reserve the right to scrub posts, comments, and users from the subreddit in the spirit of keeping the community clean and without bias.

I think after the tense situation with usa canada mexico etc. silver will fall hard what do you think?
I was thinking of gaining more knowledge. I learned a lot from TJR - from his bootcamp and trading transformation. I have been practicing for 7 months but I feel I need more knowledge And feel like I don’t need. I was thinking of gaining more from ICT mentorship 2022, 2016, 2023 and learning Wyckoff on weekends because I have school and on working days trading and journal. What do you think about it? Btw I’m not profitable yet. Should I focus on mastering my strategy from tools that gave me TJR by practicing or gain more knowledge slowly from ICT?
As the title suggests, I'm looking to trade forex with ridiculously high leverage like 200:1 or more, preferably. My strategy allows for occasionally blowing an account, so please don't preach to me about risk because I know it's gambling Lol Are there any offshore forex brokers who will take a US client, and not require that they be Muslim? (That seems to be a common restriction and I'm just a southern white boy looking for some action)
What do you guys think about a new way of getting capital. Instead of like paying expensive challenge fees for a challenge, you can gamify the process where people can put money towards a prize pot and allow other people to join these competitive groups. Then reward people based on their performance splitting the total prize pot among the people who have competed. There can obviously be rules such as being in atleast a positive balance and other things, but its something I thought about and wanted your opinions on. Especially since prop firms are not particularly great anymore with denying payouts ect.
As far as I understand, both US and Canada (and Mexico too) have announced the beginning of trade war.
I am new in forex, but I have been interested in a long time so I kind of know some basics.
I have been planning on what is the best way to profit off of the recent trade tensions between the US and its neighbors.
Long USD/CAD and USD/MXN or short USD/CHF or USD/YEN?
I'm profitable over the last 12 months, trading XAUUSD and NAS100 (on demo, mind you) but I just keep entering trades early, even when I know better. Quite often, I have been stopped out right where I should have placed a limit order! many times I have then entered a new trade and successfully come out without a loss, but what a waste of time! I need to work on my mental game.
My second mistake is having a bull bias... sometimes I don't quite recognise that the market has turned and just keep buying (gold will always go up eventually, right?). This mistake was responsible for my biggest losing streak.
Any advice ?
I mostly trade GBP/USD on TradingView and I use Oanda as my broker, but often times when I try to risk 2-3% of my account, it doesn’t let me. I have a small account of around $500, and my trades only get approved if I risk around 1% of my account. Can someone explain to me what I’m missing?
I’m new to trading and I’m guessing trump’s recent announcements of tariffs for Mexico,Canada and china will dramatically impact those countries currencies. If so how big of an impact we thinking?
I trade on meta trader 5 on the web page, how can you see how much of your account you are risking before making the trade for your stop loss, as it doesn’t show?
Hi guys!
I'm ending another degree, this time about economics so I'm deep into this whole GDP, HDI, interest rate, inflation etc and so on stuff, but how are you using it for trading at all?
I mean, I can use my knowledge for prediction attempt about economy in let's say half year ahead, plus minus, but how to use that for FX?
On the first glance should be easy, but after all most of the countries have similar issues at time, those tiny differences can play a role, but it seems to be not a weekly trade topic.
Hi guys I’m a passionate software developer who also loves to trade. I’m on here to ask traders what they think is wrong with the current trading environment and what tools or software they think that if built could make their trading process much easier and smoother. What are the issues your facing via trading that isn’t being solved currently ?
If there’s another big gap at the open on the USD due to late tariff announcements Friday after most banks and traders had stepped away, how are most of you going to play it. Go for the fill or see what happens?
Does FTMO close accounts due to holding trades over maintenance periods exceesing 2 hours? I had a BTC position open. Was unaware of the maintenance.

Hi all,
I imagine this exact post pops up a lot in here. I just wanted to know if there is a way of making things easier for myself when starting out.
I have done a lot of research, watched countless videos and read books on Forex trading. I then moved on to a demo account which has helped me put knowledge into practice.
Are there any golden rules I should follow or things I should absolutely avoid? All advice welcome as I’m a complete beginner. Thanks!
How do you journal your trades and what important things you note down mainly

Hey traders,
How many of you still actively trade? Life got busy and prop firms got weird, so I got out of the trading space for a while, but I do know the power of trading so I don’t want to give up on it. Not looking to become rich, but trading has a ton of potential.
What are you guys’ thoughts?
