Subreddit Rules:

1 - No off-subreddit discussion (soliciting for DMs,) or promotion of your trader group or chatroom.

Comments must be related to the question. No attempts to take the discussion off the subreddit are allowed (via PM, 3rd party chatroom, etc.)

No posts promoting your 3rd party trader group or chatroom.

This is a zero tolerance rules, and will result in a perma-ban without the option to appeal.

2 - No external links or mentions to video sites (YouTube, etc.) Videos must use Reddit Video embeds.

Posts to video sites, including YouTube, are barred.

This includes direct links, and recommendations to watch a video, or a description of how to get to the video ("look up so-and-so on youtube, thank me later")

If you want to post your own content here, you can do so using Reddit Video embeds, so long as the video does not include mentions of external sites (calling out your social media / YouTube accounts.)

This is a zero tolerance rule, and you risk a perma-ban for not following it.

3 - No Promotional Activity or Advertisements

Do not self promote here. Doing so risks your brand being blacklisted by our spam filters.

Any promotional activity will result in a ban. You will have limited ability to appeal.

4 - No Promotion / Linking / Mentioning of your Social Media (IG, FB, Twitter, etc..) Accounts

This goes along with the rule about not taking the conversation off-site. Dropping your IG link will get you banned. Period.

5 - If you post a chart setup or trade idea. (Post Requirements)

You must be willing to explain your analysis and reasoning for any given chart or trade you post, or else the post will be taken down.

Empty charts without annotations are useless.

Subjective reasons for a trade do not help others learn or understand what you are doing.

Provide practical and tangible reasons for your trade / chart setup so people can follow along with you.

6 - No Signals / Signals Promotion

This falls under the posting charts rule where you must provide a detailed overview and context to your trade, but specifically singles out the posting of trade 'signals' with any commercial intent.

7 - Keep It Professional and Friendly!

No insults or attacks of any kind. Abusive posters will be banned. We don't care if they called you names first; report the abuse to us and we will deal with the offending party (getting into a name calling spat will likely just get all parties involved banned.)

8 - No Gain / Loss (P/L) Porn

We don't care how much money you made or lost. Context is everything, and risk metrics matter. Do not post your P/L Porn here unless you're prepared to give a detailed account of your strategy and all factors that went into generating said P/L.

9 - NO CRYPTO - We are not a crypto sub.

There are a plethora of subs devoted crypto topics. We are not one of them.

This sub deals with fiat currencies backed by governments.

Even if your forex broker offers Crypto CFDs, it is still considered off-topic here.

10 - MEMEs are for weekends only!

General idea: Business during the week, party on the weekend. MEMEs posted during the week will be removed, and MEMEs posted on the weekends will stay up but may be removed once Monday starts.

When is the weekend? from 4:30PM EST Friday, to 4:30 EST Sunday.

The ONLY exception is bank holidays when markets are either closed or illiquid with little trading activity.

11 - Mods can remove posts, comments, or ban users at their discretion. Do not argue with mod decisions.

Even if no rule was technically violated. The mods reserve the right to scrub posts, comments, and users from the subreddit in the spirit of keeping the community clean and without bias.

Am I making too many hail marry trades?

I’ve been trading for a while now, usually I can make decent trades but sometimes I get ahead of my self and entering too late into trades and end up losing the profit from the ones prior. Due to these facts, my profit/loss is always at about even. Any tips on what I should do?

Demoralised

I've been trading for about 4 years and haven't made a dime. I bought the Photon Trading Course and I will admit it simplified trading on a theoretical basis... But I just keep losing trades. It's so disheartening considering that I don't really have anything else to turn to for my dream to be financially free. It hurts investing your time and money into something and not seeing the fruits of your sacrifice. I don't plan on quitting anytime soon but the doubts are really strong

Hypothetical question about fundamentals ...

Hi all.

A hypothetical questions about fundaments when you get a chance please?

If there was a news event that caused the EUR/USD pair to rise, then there was no events that affected the pair for 1 year. (Impossible I know but hypothetically.)

- Would the pair continue to rise for the whole year?
- Or would the pair rise until the news event was priced in then stop rising?

Just trying to understand fundamentals and see what everyone thinks?

Thanks all.
I'm still learning lots and find the whole subject of trading, economics and candle sticks very interesting!

Forgot to Close Trade Before Market Close on FTMO - What Happens Now?

Hey everyone,

I just realized I forgot to close my trade before the market closed, and I got this reminder email from FTMO saying that we need to close our trades to avoid contract terms violations. Now I'm a bit worried – does this mean my account could be in trouble, or even gone?

Has anyone else done this before? Did you get any penalties, or was it just a warning? I’d appreciate any insight from those who’ve been through this with FTMO. Thanks in advance!

Edit: im trading BTCUSD, i closed the trade before the price action to stop, and can i ask what time is the market close followed NYSE (4PM) or forex market ( 5pm)

for those trading silver

XAGUSD chart analysis end of week . this analysis was created by an AI program from my charts on metatrader 5

Pattern Direction and Price Analysis:

  • The pattern is clearly descending across all three timeframes (M30, H1, and H4)
  • The price is trading below both MA100 (green) and MA200 (red) on all timeframes
  • MA values are negative across all charts (-28.93, -4.12, and declining), confirming the bearish trend
  • The price is making lower lows and lower highs, a classic bearish pattern

Direction Probability:

  • Based on the multiple bearish signals across timeframes and indicators, I estimate:
  • Bearish probability: 75/100
  • The stronger bearish case is supported by:
    • Negative MA differentials
    • RSI values predominantly below 50
    • Negative MACD readings
    • Declining TSI values

Divergences:

  • There's a bullish divergence on the H4 chart between price making lower lows while the MACD is making higher lows
  • The RSI shows slight bullish divergence on the H4 timeframe, but it's not yet confirmed
  • These divergences suggest potential weakness in the downtrend, though not yet a reversal signal

Volume Analysis:

  • Volume is notably higher on the H4 timeframe
  • Recent volume bars show increasing selling pressure (red bars)
  • Volume confirms the bearish trend with larger red bars during price declines
  • Lower volume during price bounces suggests weak buying pressure

Bollinger Bands Analysis:

  • Price is trading near the lower Bollinger Band on all timeframes
  • Bands are expanding, indicating increasing volatility
  • No clear breakout patterns visible
  • Price is respecting the lower band as support, but continues to make lower highs

Stochastic Indicator Analysis:

  • Currently showing oversold conditions on M30 and H1 timeframes
  • Probability of oversold condition: 80/100
  • However, in strong downtrends, oversold conditions can persist
  • No clear bullish crossovers visible yet

Summary: The overall analysis suggests a strong bearish trend with some early divergence signals that could indicate weakening momentum. However, the primary trend remains bearish until we see clear reversal signals and higher highs being formed. Traders should be cautious of potential bounces from oversold conditions but remember that the dominant trend is down.

this occurs, the stock market could likely drop by 50% or more over 12 to 24 months, triggering multi-year bull runs in gold and silver, with potential gains of several hundred percent (following an initial significant decline).

anyone who succeeded after struggling for a long time while trading profitable?

Hello,

I have been trading forex for 3 years and still have struggled to be profitable. I bought a lot of courses and did many funded challenges, and I know enough to make a profit in the long run. I know what I have to do, and I make good trades, but in the long run, it is always up in the red. I tried working on my mentality and risking 1%, sometimes even 0.5%, to be safe.

I do not want to be a millionaire in 6 months like most of the people who start trading. I just want to make a side income from it besides my full-time job and to be honest, I like trading I enjoy it.

Is there someone who experienced this and now is a profitable trader in the long run, and what did you do to become consistent in the long run? What should I look out for or focus more on?

How long until you became consistently profitable?

I’m just interested in hearing people’s stories out there. I’m personally at a place where I’m trying to be consistent with results. I started learning in Jan 2023, started trading live in May 2023, then this year around May/June things started clicking. I got funded in July and received a few payouts since then. There are periods like in September when I got into serious drawdown but overall I’d say I’m at a stage where I’m getting to that consistency.

Bitcoin Risk Free trade

I entered this trade after a pull back and after noticing NFP did not actually move price so aggressively. Considering letting this one run until next week but will most likely cut it prior to market closure.

Trading one 4hour candle EURUSD

is there anyone who've been trading just one 4h candle for years? Have you been profitable focusing a single candle? Or you switch timings and not just trade a particular session. I took a look around 2014 data and also around 2020 data, the charts were full of sh1t. Its like consolidation everywhere. There's no big moves at all. Even if there is, its tough to trade one 4h candle and get a good gain out of it.

As of now, the markets are volatile and 4H candle can be traded easily.
